Monsterpocalypse

 PiP Privateer Press Previews 4

Taharka – Legion of Mutates Monster (resin/metal) – PIP 51125 MSRP: $27.99

The Legion of Mutates sends forth their next fighter to embody the voice of the people, their scientists having instilled him with an almost unstoppable force. The once-massive bodybuilder took on the name Taharka after being tempted by the almost unfathomable power of the Legion’s mutagen. In the process, he gained the strength, toughness, and determination of a rhinoceros, and now nothing will remain standing in his wake.

TRADE POINTS: Taharka is a monster with a focus on Rampant Destruction that can be added to any Protectors force. His Thick Skin allows him to lead his force unscathed through the hazards of the battlefield. Even for a massive monster, Taharka has a remarkably Strong Arm, able to casually toss aside even the toughest of foes. Taharka is a true Juggernaut and will stand strong against almost any attack.

Slashers and Clicker – Legion of Mutates Unit (metal) – PIP 51126 MSRP: $29.99

The Legion of Mutates began their power-to-the-masses campaign with ultimate frontline fighters and incredible battlefield commanders. Now, they focus speed in a way never before seen during the Monsterpocalypse: slashers imbued with the prowess of a cheetah are the fastest creatures on two legs. Their speed translates into devastating attacks that can punch massive holes in any line. And clickers combine the best qualities of human and bat perception to allow them to accurately target any prey with their heavy rifles

TRADE POINTS: Slashers can reach out and attack your enemy almost anywhere on the map. They boast speeds previously rivaled only by fighter jets. When they reach their enemy, they unleash their rending blades in powerful Cleaving attacks. Meanwhile, Clickers take the concept of Heightened Senses to a mind-boggling extreme. When their attack Tags a target, it acts as a signal for the rest of the Legion of Mutates to advance on their prey.

PiP Privateer Press Previews 2

The Magistrate – Masters of the 8th Dimension Monster (resin/metal) – PIP 51127 MSRP: $31.99

No one can truly comprehend the strange creatures of the 8th dimension, so when the Magistrate holds court, it is not the accused that stands trial but reality itself. It can silence all dissent, not with powerful oration skills but with a willpower that alters the course of events. The many faces of The Magistrate each represent a different aspect of its version of the process of justice. It is literally the prosecutor, the jury, and the judge. No one and nothing can escape The Magistrate’s judgment.

TRADE POINTS: The Magistrate is a support monster that can be added to any Destroyers force. It can Extrude Jurors, allowing each to seek out “justice” against their foes but be warned: The Magistrate only has a limited supply before it must return to the 8th dimension. Further, its Entropic Presence Saps the very energy from those that would stand against its version of justice. And should The Magistrate’s foes attempt to activate a plan of attack against it, they will be left with naught but endless Objections.

When purchasing The Magistrate, it is strongly recommended the player also purchase the Jurors and Abrogator unit.

PiP Privateer Press Previews 1

Jurors and Abrogators – Masters of the 8th Dimension Unit (metal) – PIP 51128 MSRP: $29.99

The first wave of Masters of the 8th Dimension units offered more conventional avenues of attack. The Abrogator is the pinnacle of such an approach, acting as a frontline leader of the combined forces of the 8th dimension. Like their visage, their strength also mimics The Preceptor. The Juror, on the other hand, is exactly the opposite, causing damage in ways never before seen on the battlefield. The mere presence of a Juror dominates all before it.

TRADE POINTS: Jurors bring several novel concepts to Monsterpocalypse. They form a powerful Quorum that can control large swathes of territory, and don’t expect it to be simple to remove a Quorum of Jurors—once they are entrenched, it will take incredible destructive force to vanquish them. Should you succeed, you can expect nothing more than a Death Sentence as judgment. Power Sinks anywhere an Abrogator appears. Whether it’s a blast or a brawl, an Abrogator’s attack will Siphon and Gorge all power before it.

WARCASTER: Neo-Mechanika

THE SUPERCHARGED MINIATURES WARGAME

PiP Privateer Press Previews 5

Warcaster: Neo-Mechanika is a high-speed hobby miniatures game for two players who each take on the role of a powerful Warcaster in command of a formidable battle force!

Players assemble and customize a force of 20–30 models and fight a scenario-driven battle using dice and cards to control their mighty units and to cast epic cyphers. The game is played using an alternating-activation turn sequence with a round tracker that governs scoring opportunities and the duration of ongoing effects. Players take turns activating units one at a time and using their rack of cyphers, reality-warping spells that can be used to enhance their troops and warjacks or to devastate their opponent’s forces.

While Warcasters are not physically present on the battlefield, their presence is always felt. A Warcaster coordinates and supports their forces from a sophisticated command and control center called a rack, located aboard a massive battle carrier that transports the Warcaster’s troops and warjacks. In the game, the rack is represented by a deck of cards—the spell-like Cyphers—that players customize prior to the game based on the powers and abilities they wish to wield as a Warcaster!

Empyrean Command Group Starter Set (metal) – PIP 87001 MSRP: $69.99

Contains:

  • Oculus (solo)
  • Fulcrum (solo)
  • Saber Strikeforce (3-model squad)
  • Daemon A (light warjack)
  • Five white and five red Strike Dice, one D6
  • Four unit stat cards, five warjack weapon cards, twenty-four Cypher cards
  • Warcaster: Neo-Mechanika rulebook

The Hyperuranion’s true masters, the Empyreans, have returned, and they who designed the galaxy will not tolerate resistance. Led by the Aeons, great heroes who once lived as mortal beings, the robotic legions of the Empyreans have emerged from Cyriss Prime to restore order to the stars—by force, if necessary. On the tabletop, the Empyreans are a powerful fighting force relying on a mastery of technology and the arcane arts to make Arc flow in unstoppable tidal currents from their warcaster to their legions.

TRADE POINTS: The Empyrean Command Group Starter Set contains everything one player needs to begin battling across the Thousand Worlds of Warcaster: Neo-Mechanika.

PiP Privateer Press Previews 14

Factotum – Empyrean Solo (metal) – PIP 87002 MSRP: $19.99

The Factotum is a specialized robotic servitor designed to repair and maintain Empyrean technologies. The Factotum’s sophisticated but limited artificial intelligence is focused almost entirely on this role, allowing the machine to perform its duties skillfully and autonomously. Armed with powerful tendrils that allow it to move and manipulate the damaged tools of war it was designed to repair, the Factotum can be a surprisingly brutal opponent in close combat.

TRADE POINTS

  • Can Repair warjacks
  • Can spike to remove an activation token from a friendly warjack within 10˝ of it
  • When targeted with a Cypher, whether friendly or enemy, you can charge it with up to 1 Arc if it is not already charged
  • When this model hits a warjack with its Tentacle Clam melee weapons while charged, the warjack suffers the System Failure continuous effect

PiP Privateer Press Previews 13

Fulcrum – Empyrean Solo (metal) – PIP 87003 MSRP: $19.99

Possessing an array of vastly complex mechanika, the Fulcrum is amongst the strangest and most advanced of the Empyreans’ robotic servitors. The soulless machine is part short-range gate generator and part weapon of war. It can be used to teleport friendly forces short distances or to turn the same technologies on the enemy, with all safeguards withdrawn and the terrifying power of its Void Cannon on full display. The presence of Fulcrums greatly adds to the unpredictability of Empyrean forces in battle.

TRADE POINTS

  • This model can spike to reposition a friendly unit with large or smaller bases up to 3˝
  • When this model is targeted by an attack while charged, it can move up to 3˝
  • When targeted with a Cypher, whether friendly or enemy, you can charge it with up to 1 Arc if it is not already charged
  • When this model hits an enemy model with its Void Cannon ranged weapon, it can spike to relocate the enemy model up to 3˝ away

PiP Privateer Press Previews 12

Oculus – Empyrean Solo (metal) – PIP 87004 MSRP: $19.99

A robotic homunculus, the Oculus is the Empyreans’ synthetic weaver. Calibrated to maintain a constant psychic rapport with its controlling Warcaster, the Oculus moves about the battlefield seeking the perfect position to deliver its Warcaster’s eldritch power. Though lacking true autonomy or the natural theurge’s capacity to manipulate Arc, the Oculus is instead the product of arcane artifice, a perfect conduit to execute its master’s will.

TRADE POINTS

  • Can channel destructive Fury Cyphers
  • When you channel a Fury Cypher through this model, you can charge this model with up to 1 Arc
  • While charged with Arc, ignore line of sight when resolving Fury attacks channeled through it
  • When a Fury Cypher is channeled through this model, it can spike to reroll the attack roll
  • Clear 1 Arc from the unit or void gate hit by this model’s Consecrator melee weapon

PiP Privateer Press Previews 11

Astreus, Aeon of the First Magnitude – Empyrean Hero Solo (metal) – PIP 87005 MSRP: $24.99

Unlike the soulless servitor legions they lead in battles across the Hyperuranion, the Aeons are true Empyreans, elder souls drawn back from the Great Constellation and inhabiting robotic forms of Arcanessence and alloyed steel. The most ancient and revered of these enlightened masters of war are those of the First Magnitude, an honor reserved for the Empyreans’ greatest champions. Among them is Astreus, a veteran of countless wars dating back to the Unification of the galaxy. Little remains of Astreus’ mortal self, having been lost utterly to the crush of time. What remains is an unflinching, calculating, and unpredictable warrior utterly devoted to his cause.

TRADE POINTS

  • Powerful and skilled combatant that can make both melee and ranged attacks during the same activation
  • Astreus’ Plasma Spear causes the Fire continuous effect
  • When targeted with a Cypher, whether friendly or enemy, you can charge it with up to 1 Arc if it is not already charged
  • While charged, this model gains +3 DEF against ballistic weapons
  • Can spike to manipulate Arc on friendly models

PiP Privateer Press Previews 10

Saber Vanguard – Empyrean Squad (x3) (metal) – PIP 87006 MSRP: $29.99

Saber Vanguards are the Empyreans’ close-combat specialists. Armed with a pair of Fusion Scythes and flailing tentacles, these squads of robotic servitors are unleashed upon the enemy like a tide of clockwork destruction. They charge forward without question, striking even the most heavily armed and defended enemy positions with no concern for self-preservation. Their sacrifice keeps the enemy off balance while the Empyreans take up positions and execute their stratagems. Though their losses are always heavy, the Sabers are incapable of complaint, and their masters can always make more.

TRADE POINTS

  • Three-model squad
  • When targeted with a Cypher, whether friendly or enemy, you can charge it with up to 1 Arc if it is not already charged
  • Can spike at the end of their activation to not receive an activation token
  • If a model in this squad destroys an enemy model with an attack while charged, it can make an additional attack with another of its three weapons
  • While charged, models in the squad gain 2 Power Dice on their Fusion Scythe melee attacks

PiP Privateer Press Previews 9

Daemon B – Empyrean Light Warjack (metal) – PIP 87008 MSRP: $29.99

The Daemon is the most commonly encountered of the Empyreans’ advanced warjacks. While possessing limited artificial intelligence, the Daemon is slaved to the will of the Warcaster, and it executes orders without thought or hesitation. These warjacks are typically heavily armed with hardpoints set into the arms and back. They are also equipped with a variety of enhanced mechanikal adaptations, including an Aegis Field capable of blunting the impact of all manner of ranged attacks. These adaptations, however, are not all defensive in nature. The Daemon’s Disruption Engine enables it to cleave through its target’s arcane defenses, dispelling enemy Cyphers on contact.

TRADE POINTS

  • Different cortex and weapon selections add modular utility to this warjack. The warjack has two arm and one back hardpoint for weapons
  • While charged, this warjack always has cover
  • When this model hits a target with an attack, it can spike to cause enemy Cypher cards on the model to expire

PiP Privateer Press Previews 7

Daemon A Weapon Pack – Empyrean Pack (metal) – PIP 87009 MSRP: $9.99

It would be a gross understatement to say that the warjacks employed by the Empyrean forces were the most advanced in the galaxy. The simple fact is that they operate on principles not yet fully understood even by humanity’s greatest mechanical engineers. Those who have inspected wrecks left on the battlefield believe that the likes of the Daemon are powered by energy cells that draw ambient Arcanessence from the environment, but such findings remain far from conclusive. What is beyond debate is that the weaponry integrated into these machines is a cut above the capability of virtually every other Faction of the Hyperuranion. The most commonly witnessed Daemon weapons on the battlefields of the galaxy have been the force-edged, super-heated Plasma Blade, the wicked Gravitronic Lash, and the Phase Trajectile Cannon, a weapon that can literally fire through physical barriers as if they weren’t there. The machine’s back-mounted primary weapon systems include the devastating Nova Cannon and the rapid-fire Starfire Array. Like the warjacks of humanity, the capabilities of these machines are further enhanced by their cortexes. For the Daemon, these options include the Arc-sensitive Eidolon cortex and the stealthy Hound cortex.

TRADE POINTS: Increase your warjack load out customization options with this weapon pack, featuring one copy of each weapon included in the full Daemon A kit: 5 weapons, 2 cortexes, and a card for each weapon.

PiP Privateer Press Previews 8

Daemon B Weapon Pack – Empyrean Pack (metal) – PIP 87010 MSRP: $9.99

In addition to the multitude of technological and arcane mysteries surrounding the highly advanced Empyrean warjacks, there is also the matter of the mechanika adaptions integrated into each of their chassis designs. The Daemon warjack integrates both offensive and defensive systems, including a protective aegis field and a Cypher-dispelling disruption engine. Their most devastating mechanikal advancements, however, are reserved for their powerful weaponry. Among the Daemon’s weapon options are the adaptive Protean Forge melee weapon and the disrupting Antiminator. These machines can also be equipped with wideband-scanning Metaperceptors. Back-mounted weapons include the force-projecting Meteor Cannon and the defensive Force Shield Projector. Cortex options include the protective Defender cortex and evasive Wraith cortex.

TRADE POINTS: Increase your warjack load out customization options with this weapon pack, featuring one copy of each weapon included in the full Daemon B kit: 5 weapons, 2 cortexes, and a card for each weapon.

PiP Privateer Press Previews 6

Saber Strikeforce – Empyrean Squad (x3) (metal) – PIP 87011 MSRP: $29.99

Saber squads are the rank and file of the Empyreans’ robotic forces. Lacking souls and created to follow every order without question, Sabers are an efficient and utterly fearless fighting force, possessing an inhuman degree of discipline impossible for sentient species to replicate. Armed with high-intensity Ion Cannons backed by Fusion Blades in close combat, Strikeforces make up the bulk of the Saber forces. Their ordinary stillness before battle belies their savagery in combat when they explode into a blur of motion, unleashing deadly beam, blade, and tentacle attacks to cut down any enemy unfortunate enough to move into their path.

While charged, models in the squad gain 2 Power Dice on their Ion Cannon ranged attacks

WARMACHINE & HORDES

PiP Privateer Press Previews 19

Ascendant Mentalist – Crucible Guard Trancer Solo (metal)

PIP 37026 MSRP: $19.99

Trancers are traditionally short-lived individuals, as the powerful alchemical concoctions that grant them their psychokinetic powers tend to destroy their bodies rapidly and without remorse. This destructive cycle is not without anomalies, however, as some can withstand the chemical degeneration indefinitely. These lucky souls become fierce psychic combatants, unlocking mental feats of strength a traditional trancer simply doesn’t have the time to master.

TRADE POINTS: The Ascendant Mentalist is a powerful support solo that uses its psychic abilities to protect friendly Crucible Guard models from ranged attacks and even enemy charges. Additionally, the combat capabilities of the Mentalist are different than that of a traditional Trancer. Whereas a normal Trancer wants to engage the enemy in melee quickly, the Mentalist can hang back and damage multiple enemies at once with its Psychic Assault spray attack.

PiP Privateer Press Previews 18

Failed Experiments – Crucible Guard Unit (x5) (resin/metal)

PIP 37027 MSRP: $49.99

Alchemy can be a messy art, a fact known better by the Golden Crucible than many other scientists of the Iron Kingdoms. One does not simply turn lead into gold without a few accidents along the way. The Crucible Guard is not shy when it comes to human experimentation, which has led to several messy “failures” over the years.

Not every failed human experiment is disintegrated in the process or reduced to a sentient mass of quivering flesh. Some failed experiments grow bestial, monstrous, and highly effective at causing destruction among the enemy ranks. Like faithful canines, these failed experiments are given simple commands and sent howling at the foes of the Crucible Guard where they will cause unimaginable havoc. Whether they live or die in the process is irrelevant, as this secondary experiment is almost always a smashing success.

TRADE POINTS: Failed Experiments are a unit of melee monsters for the Crucible Guard. Their primary focus is to get to the enemy as quickly as possible, then rip and tear them apart. Players can adjust several stats of the Failed Experiments each turn with their Chemical Imbalance rule, allowing the player to make the unit faster, stronger, or more accurate turn to turn. Once the Experiments engage, their multiple vicious melee attacks and Chain Attack: Smite will cause a great deal of damage. Warcasters that can further amplify this unit’s base stats and hitting power, such as Aurum Adeptus Syvestro (PIP 37002) or Marshal General Baldwin Gearhart (PIP 37015), work excellently with the Failed Experiments.

Dann mal goodbye, Privateer Press. :/

Verstehst Du worauf ich hinaus will?

    Sogar ganz gut spielbar.

      • Was ist (alles) schlecht an Beyond the Gates of Antares?

        Ernsthafte Frage!
