Few figures in STAR WARS carry themselves with the same quiet gravity as Baylan Skoll. A former Jedi turned mercenary philosopher, Baylan walks a deliberate path shaped by regret, ambition, and an unshakable belief that the galaxy must be broken to be remade. In STAR WARS: Shatterpoint, that worldview is etched directly into his mechanics. Baylan is not a reckless aggressor. He is a patient force of inevitability.

Baylan Skoll enters the battlefield as a Primary Unit at 7 squad points with 10 stamina and 3 durability. He is built to endure, accumulate pressure, and then convert that pressure into decisive blows at precisely the right moment. Every part of his kit revolves around Hunker tokens, a representation of stored pressure and discipline, waiting for the moment his opponent makes a mistake.

His first Active Ability, Power, Such as You’ve Never Dreamed, sets the tone. Baylan draws an enemy within range 3 toward himself, pulling them range two toward him before gaining a Hunker. Baylan displaces his opponent while daring them to commit on his terms, rewarding his patience the moment they do.

Force-Enhanced Dexterity reinforces that dominance over space. The former Jedi may Dash, while gaining a Hunker token. Crucially, this ability can be used twice during his activation, exceeding the standard limit. That flexibility allows Baylan to reposition, pressure objectives, or close distance while steadily increasing his Hunker token economy.

That economy matters because Baylan’s Identity, One Must Destroy in Order to Create, fundamentally rewrites how allied units interact with Hunker tokens. Allied units do not lose Hunker when they become engaged and may continue to gain and have Hunker while engaged. When an allied character makes an attack, Baylan allows them to remove Hunker during the Modify Dice Step to add additional dice to the attack roll. Patience is not defensive here. It is converted directly into overwhelming offense once the opening appears.

Impatience for Victory Will Guarantee Defeat captures Baylan’s long view of conflict. At the start of another allied unit’s activation, when that unit would normally remove its Hunker, Baylan allows you to choose not to. If you do, all of that unit’s Hunker is removed at the end of its activation instead. This synergizes perfectly with his Identity.

In addition, after setup and each time the opposing player claims a Struggle Card, each allied unit gains a Hunker token. Baylan thrives in prolonged conflicts, growing stronger as the struggle escalates. Every claimed objective rewards restraint, while impatience is quietly punished.

Baylan’s two stances define how that stored pressure is released.

Form V Djem So emphasizes retaliation and raw strength. With strong melee dice and aggressive conversion, this stance rewards Baylan for standing his ground and answering violence with decisive counterforce. This is the moment when an opponent finally commits, only to discover Baylan has been ready the entire time. His combat tree leans into damage with early access to conditions, punishing anyone who chooses to duel him head-on.

Form VI Niman reflects Baylan’s balance and adaptability. This stance offers slightly less raw aggression but greater flexibility, with improved defensive conversion and easier access to healing and movement effects. It allows Baylan to remain present on objectives, control space, and continue applying pressure without overcommitting, waiting for the enemy to overextend.

Together, these stances present a choice not between offense and defense, but between certainty and control. Baylan can dominate through strength or suffocate opponents through patience.

Baylan Skoll rewards restraint, timing, and a clear understanding of when to act. He does not rush the end of the fight. He ensures it is inevitable.

Will you be able to harness his power to the same effect?

Swshatterpoint Morgan 5

Databank Download: Morgan Elsbeth

Morgan Elsbeth does not rush the future. She listens for it. A Nightsister of Dathomir and a devoted servant of a greater design, Morgan moves through conflict with precision, guided by fate, prophecy, and an unyielding loyalty to the sisterhood. In STAR WARS: Shatterpoint, Morgan Elsbeth is a Primary Unit who controls the flow of battle long before blades ever cross, manipulating timing, positioning, and sacrifice to ensure victory unfolds exactly as intended.

Morgan enters the battlefield at 8 squad points with 10 stamina and 3 durability. Despite her appearance, she is not a blunt instrument. Rather she is a conductor, shaping the tempo of the battle while empowering those who fight alongside her.

Her Tactics Ability, Fate Has Decided Our Next Move, immediately establishes her role. At the start of her activation, Morgan heeds the wisdom of prophecy by looking at the top card of the Order Deck, then choosing to place it on the top or bottom. That choice defines her turn. If the card remains on top, Morgan may Dash and then immediately Focus, setting up a pretty potent turn. If the card is placed on the bottom, allied Nightsister and Night Trooper units may Recover 1 instead.

Control continues through Manipulating Hand, an Active Ability that allows Morgan to seize an enemy within range 4 and force them to dash in a direction of her choosing. As many of you can imagine, this is displacement at its most punishing. The nightsister decides where her enemy stands, stripping them of agency and positioning them for isolation, or execution.

That isolation is exactly what You Will Die Here, Alone is designed to exploit. When Morgan makes a melee attack and the defender has no other enemy characters nearby, she adds 3 dice to the attack roll, effectively turning separation into a death sentence.

Her Identity Ability, My Loyalty, My Life for the Sisterhood, defines the core of her leadership. While Morgan is not Wounded, she can suffer damage in place of nearby allied units spending Force to use abilities. She protects the sisterhood not through shielding, but through sacrifice, willingly bleeding so others may act. When Morgan does finally become Wounded, she answers that injury with vengeance, immediately Dashing and making a five dice melee attack. Even in pain, she advances the cause for her people!

Morgan’s two stances reflect the duality of her training. Wrath emphasizes direct lethality by offering strong melee output, reliable damage, and access to conditions that weaken enemies who dare stand before her, all while healing her in the process. It is the stance Morgan adopts when the time for subtlety has passed and fate demands blood.

Dathomirian Training leans into control and mobility. With greater access to movement effects and defensive conversion, this stance allows Morgan to remain elusive while continuing to dictate engagements. It supports her role as a battlefield manipulator, striking where needed and withdrawing before reprisal.

Together, these stances allow Morgan to shift seamlessly between executioner and orchestrator, always aligned with the will of the sisterhood.

Morgan Elsbeth rewards foresight, positioning, and a willingness to sacrifice for long term gain. She does not simply fight for victory. She ensures the future unfolds as foretold so that her beloved sisterhood can endure across the galaxy!

Morgan Elsbeth is available for pre-order at local friendly game stores and through the webstore as part of the My Loyalty, My Life Squad Pack.
