Attention customers from Germany (And then Australia / New Zealand towards the bottom of this post). VERY important in regards to German ordering!Starting July 1st if you are a customer from Germany your local governments „VerpackG“ program officially goes into effect for ALL inbound orders from any international market. This will have major short term impacts on how your orders from SWS are handled. In a brief summary of what this new program is, it is a recycling and recovering system your government is phasing in to help offset the environmental impact of single use packaging. Companies have to register and fill out some lengthy paperwork and then make a quarterly/yearly payout to the Germany government to offset the costs of packaging recovery from dumps/recycling system. This effects everyone from small businesses like us, all the way up to industry giants such as Amazon. This will be very similar to the UK VAT changes that will greatly hamper our ability to serve the German fandom. I simply lack the legal ability and expertise to navigate foreign government paperwork of this caliber, as such I am forced to disable ALL shipping to Germany after June 20th as all inbound parcels need to be delivered BEFORE July 1st. This is obviously terrible news as the German Battletech scene is very passionate and have supported our store heavily since its inception in 2017. It saddens me that for the short term we will not be able to service those faithful fans but it will take me time to find a solution to these new rules. To offset this loss to the German Market we have been in talks with a reliable 3D printing operation based out of Germany itself. Pending a final approval from all involved parties, it does appear we will be able to license a local printer that will fill the void from us no longer shipping to Germany personally. In the long term this may provide better service as shipping into Germany has ALWAYS been a „fun“ time since DHL handles these shipments once they hit the border. I hope our fans out that way understand this is beyond our abilities to control and we sincerely hope this new option helps offset the disappointment from this announcement. For our fans down under, better news – Canada post has reopened postal options to both Australia and New Zealand. It has been stated by all involved parties shipping is still slow moving but it is an option. OTP Terrain & Miniatures will remain licensed for your local HEXTECH needs, however folks now have access to our miniatures and the more niche terrain options.I will be on hand to answer questions and concerns all day!
