GW: Las Vegas Open 2022 Preview
Im Rahmen des Las Vegas Open Events haben Games Workshop eine Preview auf kommende Neuheiten für die Universen von Warhammer 40.000, The Horus Heresy, Warhammer Age of Sigmar und Necromunda gezeigt.
LVO 2022 – The Reborn Avatar of Khaine Leads Another New Wave of Aeldari ReinforcementsJanuary has been packed to the pointy ears with reveals of upcoming Aeldari models, including Rangers and Shroudrunners from the Eldritch Omens battlebox. Now, a full warhost of new arrivals have made themselves known at the Las Vegas Open.
Back with a jaw-dropping new model and one of the greatest glow-ups we’ve ever seen, the Avatar of Khaine resumes his rightful place as the blazing incarnation of Aeldari wrath.
For the first time, this massive new model comes with weapon options seen in classic Warhammer artwork – get vengeance for the Fall with a molten axe or release your inner hoplite with a spear and crested helm.
The Avatar does not have a monopoly on death, however. The Phoenix Lord Maugan Ra is back too, with Maugetar in hand.
As you can see, the progenitor of the Dark Reapers is packed with skeletal detail in his first-ever plastic incarnation.
Meanwhile, hot on the heels of the Shroudrunners come the jetbiking Aspect Warriors of the Shining Spears. There’s never been a better time to build the all-bike Saim-Hann army of your dreams, with enough high-speed action to make the White Scars blush.
Like the other upcoming Aspect Warriors, these Shining Spears are packed with options and can be assembled with or without helmets for an army of Ynnari. One can be built as an Exarch with a powerful star lance or paragon sabre, and a shuriken cannon slung below his ride.
These forces are commanded by the new Autarch and Warlock kits, and with redoubtable ranks of Guardian Defenders and Storm Guardians at their backs, the craftworlds are ready to return to Warhammer 40,000 with an almighty thump.
LVO 2022 – Aeldari Corsairs Plunder the Nachmund Gauntlet in Kill Team’s Next Expansion
The Corsairs are here, an age-old Aeldari faction reinvented for the next Kill Team expansion. Taking inspiration from the noble Asuryani, the sadistic Drukhari, and other bits and bobs they’ve picked up along the way, the Voidscarred kill team is just as diverse and characterful as you’d expect from a roving band of millennia-old interstellar pirates.
Owing allegiance to nobody but themselves, these corsairs travel the galaxy, diving into whichever fights stand to benefit them most. What’s their angle in Kill Team: Nachmund? You’ll just have to wait and see.
Warhammer 40.000: Kill Team – Nachmund
As its name suggests, the next Kill Team expansion will take you to the Nachmund Gauntlet, a perilous region of space beset by conflict and madness. As the safest passage through the Great Rift, Nachmund is unimaginably important to the Imperium of Man, and an endless war rages for control.
But what about Warhammer 40,000? As with the Sisters Novitiate before them, the Voidscarred will have full rules for the tabletop, able to be deployed alongside Aeldari and Drukhari armies.
LVO 2022 – Ka’Bandha’s Monstrous New Model Is the Biggest Horus Heresy Character Ever
Ka’Bandha revels in the slaughter and has added mountains of skulls to Khorne’s domain from the early days of the Horus Heresy to the twilight of the 41st Millennium. He cuts a fearsome figure on the battlefield, resplendent in detailed daemonic armour, and is by far the largest Forge World Character Series model released so far.
Although his most notorious acts take place during the 31st Millennium, most notably his epic duel with Sanguinius at the gates of the Imperial Palace. Ka’Bandha is still tearing things up 10,000 years on in Warhammer 40,000, as well as in Warhammer Age of Sigmar. Whether you’re re-enacting the Devastation of Baal or taking the role of a Bloodthirster in your Blades of Khorne army, he’s the terror of the tabletop.
LVO 2022 – New Nighthaunt and Daughters of Khaine Fight for Souls in Arena of Shades
Arena of Shades contains 44 models spread across two armies, for the Nighthaunt and Daughters of Khaine. Leading them are two new Heroes, with a deadly new unit of crossbow-armed spirits also joining the forces of Death.
Leading the Nighthaunt is Vayon of the Withered Quill – one of the Scriptors Mortis, the ghostly record-keepers who track the rise of Nagash’s domain. With a spiteful flick of his quill, Vayon can condemn those heroes who stand against the God of Undeath to especially horrible underworlds, dooming them to suffer massive damage every turn.
Planning for the raid falls to one of Nagash’s most powerful servants – Kurdoss Valentian, the Craven King – who dispatches a force of his elite Craventhrone Guard. These bitter shades excel in ranged combat, loosing spectral bolts that pass through stone and steel before cutting down their unfortunate targets.
The Craventhrone Guard are joined by ten Bladegheist Revenants, one Spirit Torment, two Chainghasts, and four Myrmourn Banshees, giving the forces of Death plenty of ways to tackle their murderous aelven opponents.
Standing (well, acrobatically leaping) between the Nighthaunt and Har Kuron is High Gladiatrix Yelena, an arena fighter famed across her city. A living conduit of Morathi-Khaine’s wrath, the High Gladiatrix rides a wave of murderous fervour to spur the Witch Aelves around her to greater heights of carnage, claiming the heads of enemy heroes in a dance of death.
She leads a force of five Doomfire Warlocks, ten Sisters of Slaughter, and five Khinerai Heartrenders, making her army lightning fast and capable of diving headlong into close combat before the Nighthaunt have time to react.
LVO 2022 – Vehicular Mayhem Awaits in Necromunda: Ash Wastes
This major expansion is the biggest news for Necromunda fans in years, seeing intrepid gangs venturing into a far greater danger than the underhive. Parched sands and pools of poisonous sewage are the least of your troubles out here, as among the dunes live a people hardened to the many perils of the outside world, and they do not share their domain lightly.
So great are the distances between hives that even the most athletic gang won’t get far on foot, so what vehicles can be scraped together will serve your gangers well in the trials to come.
