Riot Quest: Wintertime Wasteland Kickstarter
Privateer Press finanzieren auf Kickstarter die nächste Season für Riot Quest.
The once-great Iron Kingdoms are now a pile of smoldering ruins. But there’s treasure everywhere…if you’ve got the gumption to fight for it! You’ll need a crackerjack crew, gobs of gear, and lots of love for the chaos of battle if you’re going to score the best leftover loot in the land. But watch out! It’s every human, dwarf, elf, and gobber for themselves in this outrageous quest for bodacious booty!
Nominated for the Origins Award for best miniatures game of 2019, Riot Quest is a fast-moving, highly unpredictable arena board game for two to four players using hobby miniatures.
In Riot Quest, players assemble a crew of 5–10 Heroes and an equal number of Riot Gear cards to compete with up to three other players in a chaotic battle to score treasure and rack up victory points in an Arena.
Each round, players alternate taking turns by activating one of their Heroes to perform various actions, such as running around the Arena, attacking Enemies, or raiding Treasure Chests. A player has a limited pool of Action Dice to spend each round, with at least one die being spent for each action a Hero performs.
Throughout the game, Treasure Chests will randomly appear around the Arena, which a Hero can raid to gain valuable Loot. Loot is spent to purchase the Riot Gear a player selected at the beginning of the game. This Riot Gear upgrades that player’s Heroes.
Bounty cards represent the goals each player is attempting to achieve in order to score Victory Points and ultimately win the game. These Bounty cards might require a player’s Hero to do a certain amount of damage to an Enemy during their turn, to interact with a specific token that was put into play by the Bounty card via a rig action, or any number of other possible goals. Every time a player meets the goals of a Bounty card, that player claims that card and its associated Victory Point value.
Claiming Bounty cards isn’t the only way a player can score Victory Points. By attacking and knocking out Enemies, a player can claim Scrap cards, which are also worth Victory Points.
The Riot Quest chaos continues with the new Wintertime Wasteland starter box! After plundering and looting all they could find in the more civilized corners of the Iron Kingdoms, the heroes (and villains) of Riot Quest are headed to the strange, frozen north in search of more treasure.
This starter is fully compatible with all previous Riot Quest releases and kicks off a brand new block of post-apocalyptic, winter-themed models and expansions for the game. Wintertime Wasteland introduces new Arena maps, new Bounty and Treasure decks, and loads of new beautifully sculpted Hero models.
The Wintertime Wasteland also introduces exciting new game mechanics, like ultra-powerful Legendary Riot Gear and Tag-Team Heroes (that’s two Heroes combining their efforts to work as single game piece in your Crew). This Kickstarter represents the first half of the Wintertime Wasteland block with even more expansions coming later in 2021. If you’re new to Riot Quest, Wintertime Wasteland is a perfect starting point to take the icy plunge into the loot-questing lifestyle. And if you’re a veteran scavenger with a seasoned Crew, Wintertime Wasteland is ripe with new blood to add to your Bench.
So, get your fightin’ pants on! It’s time to gear up, wreck face, and get paid!
We here at Privateer Press are committed to getting the best games possible into the hands of our customers. But like retail throughout the world, the landscape of the hobby game industry is changing, and one of the issues continually brought to us by players and retailers is the difficulty in obtaining our products. While we will still use traditional distribution for our current game lines and future products, Kickstarter provides a tried and proven platform for getting our games directly into the hands of the players and retailers who want them. It also allows us to get in front of players who may not be familiar with our products or may not have even heard of Privateer Press, and it allows us to gauge demand so we can better manage our production pipeline to be as efficient as possible.
With the exception of the items in the Loot Vault, all products funded by this Kickstarter will eventually be offered through traditional retail channels, and retailers backing this Kickstarter will also be eligible to get Loot Vault items during the campaign (more details below). By backing the products through Kickstarter, you’re helping us make a better product tailored to the audience it’s being made for. You’re also helping us build a bigger community around the game so we can continue to support them in the future with even more ambitious projects. And for that, you deserve to be rewarded!
Many models shown in the reward graphics below are 3D renders of the digital sculpts and are subject to change prior to final production. Final models will be produced in metal and/or resin and require assembly and painting. (See below for additional materials information.)
All Rewards may be Added-On a la carte for the amount shown. Funds may be added during the campaign or later in the pledge manager.

Bei den Stretch Goals wurden noch keine großen Details gezeigt, interessant ist aber das besondere Berechtigungsprinzip der Stretch Goals:
We’ve got a pile of stretch goal rewards planned out for the Wintertime Wasteland campaign, including upgrades to the starter box, digital rewards, and the Loot Vault, where you’ll be able to select premium rewards with the Prize Tickets and Bounty Tokens you accumulate as our funding increases.
As we unlock new goals, we’ll post more, so there will always be something shiny around the corner!
Included in our Stretch Goals are several Stretch Goal “Pay Days.” When we unlock a Pay Day, you’ll receive “virtual” Prize Tickets and Bounty Tokens that will add up as our funding rises higher and more Pay Days are unlocked.
Your pledge level determines how many Prize Tickets and Bounty Tokens you will receive each time a Pay Day is unlocked. In the pledge manager after the end of the campaign, you’ll be able to spend your Prize Tickets and Bounty Tokens on sweet rewards from the Loot Vault!
NOTE: Only Bronze, Silver, and Gold reward levels are eligible for Prize Tickets and Loot Tokens. The Spectator and Retailer reward levels do not receive Prize Tickets and Loot Tokens. Provided we achieve $60k in funding, each case of Wintertime Wasteland starters will ship with one of each Prize Ticket Loot mini and all unlocked Starter Box upgrades.
If the campaign ends before you have enough Prize Tickets or Loot Tokens to claim everything you want from the Loot Vault, you’ll be able to Add-On any Prize Ticket reward for $15 and any Loot Token reward for $8 — but wait until the end to see just how many Prize Tickets and Loot Tokens get unlocked for your reward level!
Riot Quest is played with fine-scale hobby miniatures that require assembly and painting. Models contain metal and resin parts with plastic bases. Inhaling resin dust can be harmful, and a modeler should wear an N-95 respirator at all times when sanding resin parts.
Die Kampagne ist finanziert und läuft noch 16 Tage.
