This set represents Irish warriors from the 4th to 11th centuries, a dynamic period of Dark Age warfare. Constantly in conflict, Irish warbands fought each other and raided across the sea against the Late Romans, Welsh, Picts and Romano-British. Later they faced Saxons and Vikings, while also settling in parts of Wales and Scotland. Irish warriors were typically lightly armed, using spears, javelins, swords and war clubs.Warfare focused on fast raids, ambushes and skirmishing, though they could also form close order shield walls when needed. A small elite of armoured nobles and chieftains, equipped with mail and helmets, led these warbands. Schöne Modelle, denke die werde ich mir holen, vor allem weil durch die Hunde auch Abwechslung in der Box ist.
Aber, ist das historisch korrekt, dass die Krieger in der Zeit barfuß gelaufen sind ? In den irischen Highlands ? Fällt mir oft auf bei dem Zeitalter, das immer mal wieder Modelle barfüßig umher laufen…
Fehlende Kleidung war (und ist bis heute) in ärmeren Gegenden kein Einzelfall.
Einfache Krieger mußten mit dem auskommen, was sie hatten und das war oft nicht sehr viel.
Fehlende Schuhe sind völlig korrekt.
Danke für die Antwort, dachte nur gerade in der rauen Landschaft mit kaltem Wetter wären Schuhe gerade ein wichtigeres Kleidungsstück
