Hollow Crown Miniatures is a new company, founded by Varus Miniatures (Florian Wortmann) and Infamous JT (Jamie Tranter). Our mission is to produce new, high-quality miniatures available in both physically cast and digital STL formats. We are committed to creating miniatures that inspire both gamers and painters alike, offering all the options required for the tabletop as well as evocative designs for painters to use as their canvas. All of the miniatures in this new range, The Cruciform Order of St George, have been designed and sculpted by Ari Níelsson and are compatible with Trench Crusade.* Together, we bring proven experience in producing both physical and digital miniatures, along with a strong track record of successfully delivering crowdfunded projects.
This Kickstarter aims to produce a new 32mm-scale range of miniatures that combines the aesthetics of medieval English armies with First World War British soldiery, while evoking a grimdark atmosphere. The initial goal is to fund 17 miniatures, all of which have already been designed and sculpted.
The Cruciform Order of St George is available both as high-quality physical resin casts and as pre-supported digital STLs. The physical miniatures are not 3D prints; they are cast resin models produced from production-quality masters, ensuring consistent, high-quality casts with exceptional detail.
The miniatures are accompanied by Ionic Smart Colors paint and weathering sets selected by Rubén Torregrosa (Heresy Brush), printed artwork by Marco Capparoni, and custom dice to accompany your warband on the tabletop. We also have stretch goals planned to develop the Cruciform Order into a comprehensive warband for tabletop skirmishes.

This campaign aims to be as straightforward as possible, with three initial pledge levels — although we may add more as the Kickstarter progresses.
Additional items, such as paints and artwork, can be added to any pledge as add-ons, which are explained later on this page. Add-Ons are added by increasing the amount pledged by the relevant cost of each add-on, for example, if you want to add a pack of Freemen to the resin-cast warband you would pledge a total of £120. £104 for the warband pledge, and £16 for the add-on.

Our physical miniatures are not 3D printed. They are cast resin miniatures, produced in the UK by CMA Creative Solutions.
While 3D printing is a powerful and valuable tool, we have seen multiple Kickstarter projects delayed due to its limitations, or suffer from inconsistent quality during large production runs. At Hollow Crown, our goal is to deliver the highest-quality miniatures possible.
For this reason, we use a professional-grade printer to create our master models, rather than a home printer. These masters are then reproduced through resin casting, allowing us to maintain strict quality control and ensure consistency across every miniature.
The Cruciform Order’s Field-Knights are renowned for the quality of their equipment and training. Their presence alone inspires their comrades to greater acts of bravery.

Fulfilment & Delivery:
Once the Kickstarter is completed, production of physical pledges will begin in earnest, with a projected timeframe for the shipping of physical pledges within six months. CMA Creative Solutions has already been engaged to handle production, the initial 17 figures are already in their possession and approved for casting pending us reaching our target.
Digital pledges within a shorter timeframe. Those pledging for the digital warband will be contacted following the Kickstarter in regards to their pledge manager. We have already test printed the initial 17 sculpts to ensure they will work well, and we will run the same quality checks on any unlocked stretch goals.
Shipping costs will be collected after the Kickstarter. Each backer will receive a code for the Hollow Crown Miniatures website, where they can select the contents of their pledge. Im TC-Universum existieren Briten in dem Sinne gar nicht und das wären tatsächlich Engländer. Dort gab es keine Eingliederung / Eroberung, kein Empire, kein Vereinigtes Königreich. Schottland, Wales und Irland sind gänzlich unabhängig. Die englische Krone steht für sich.

Dieses Projekt ist mEn genau so wie die offene TC-Lizenz es vorsieht. Von TC inspiriert, eigenes Design und kein Kopieren offizieller Designs. Und obendrein noch passend innerhalb der Welt (das wiederum lassen FFI betont frei, da es sich ja nicht um ein offizielles Produkt der IP handelt, und sie laden ausdrücklich ein, eigene Visionen dieser Welt zu schaffen).
Ja? Ich hab gehört, dass es wohl im TC Universum nicht mehr ganz so rund läuft. Die Modelle vom KS wurden stark verspätet/fehlerhaft ausgeliefert. Die STL sollen angeblich fürchterlich sein. FFI stellt auf Boxen um (Archon) und geht gegen Creator vor. Is da was dran?

Es gab offenbarProblem3 mit den STL. Ich selber hatte damals das Buch gebacked und dazu eine Warband als STL.
Buch ist cool und die STL kamen sehr bald an. Waren problemlos druckbare, auch wenn ich ein wenig enttäuscht war dass einige Details nicht für die Größe optimiert waren.
FFI stellt nicht auf Plastik um, sondern produzierte mit Archon AUCH Plastik. Die STLs bestehen weiterhin.
Das Witzige mit dem aktuellen „Trench Crusade ist am absteigen“ Zrend ist, dass ein einziger Creator begründet hatte, weshalb er das nicht mag und fratured. Daraufhin haben das viele andere Creator aufgegriffen, aber meißt nur auf ihn beziehen, ohne eigene oder erweiterte Punkte hinzuzufügen.
Ob es nun so ist, kann ich nicht sagen, aber der aktuelle Anti-Hype ist sehr hochgejazzt und basiert nur auf einer Quelle.
PS: Spiele das Game selber nicht, bin also kein Fan der sein liebstes Game verteidigen muss 🙂

Die Diskussion um die Community die ihren Anteil an Leuten mit sehr (extremen) rechten Gedankengut abbekommen hat und den Umgang mit diesen möchte ich an dieser Stelle bewusst auskoppeln.
Das Problem hat jedes Spiel/Hobby mal mehr mal weniger und sprengt den Rahmen.

Die STL waren im ersten Release grottenschlecht
Unfruchtbar, meistens einfach nur undruckbarer Müll.
Ganz besonders die Autosupports die großspurig als professionel engineered angepriesen wurden waren bestenfalls eine Frechheit.
Es gab eine in Zahlen 1 Release Runde für die Dateien.
Und hat die Dateien von Müll auf okayisch gehoben.
Die Supports sind immer noch Mist und nicht alle Datei Fehler wurden behoben
Es gibt bis her keine Anstalten das zu beheben.

Das sie mit dem 3D Druck scheitern werden war aber von Anfang an klar.
Die hässliche Wahrheit ist nun mal das 3D Druck für Massenproduktion ungeeignet ist und ihr Druckpartner versagt hat.
Was da hinter den Kulissen gelaufen ist weiß aber so wirklich keiner schön kann es aber nicht gewesen sein
Also liegt wie Wahrheit mal wieder zwischendrin. Hemmingway, wünsche dem System viel Glück. Ich bleib erstmal bei Monpoc und Warmachine.
Also, ich kann mich über eure Wortwahl wirklich nur wundern – “Müll”, “fürchterlich”, “okayisch”, “unfruchtbar”, “Frechheit”…
Ist das angemessen? Spiegelt das reale Zustände?
Ich finde diese Ausdrucksweise respektlos, anmaßend und vor allem unsachlich. Man kann Probleme auch benennen, ohne die Menschen und deren Produkt mit Füßen zu treten.
Vorsicht, „Eure“ Wortwahl wird der Sache nicht ganz gerecht, es ist mal wieder vor allem ein User, der hier in solchen Extremen reden muss.
Und inzwischen wissen die meisten hier, wie sie diese Meinungen zu nehmen haben…
Ja Meinung ganz genau.
Aber in dem Fall ist die Beschreibung keine Übertreibung. Und auch kein Bashing, die Probleme sind hinreichend umfangreich Dokumentiert.
Die Erstveröffentlichung der STLs war einfach nur das was ich geschrieben habe. Aber nicht wiederholen werde.
Und auch die ausgelieferten Drucke waren teilweise ein Produkt das den Willen der Kunden eine Vorfinanzierung zu tätigen mit Füssen getreten hat. Da hat offensichtlich keine QA statt gefunden.
Nur so lässt sich erklären wie teilweise unbehandelte halbe Figuren oder leere Support Trees verschickt wurden. Fehler passieren aber solche sind absolut unnötig und vermeidbar. Waren das Einzelfälle ja und nein. Im Extrem ja aber die Druckqualität des externen Druckdienstleisters war generell nicht gut. Und das ist auch mehr als ausreichend dokumentiert wurden
Hat sich das gebessert. Kind of.
Aber mit den Abwandern von STLs und Print on Demand hin zu Plaste kann man die Produktline als beendet betrachten
da kommt nichts mehr.
Und die Dateien sind druckbar, wenn man bissle Zeit investiert und weiß was man tut.
BTW was sehr gern unterschlagen wird der überwiegende Teil der Pledges war nicht für die STLs das betrifft nur einen Teil der Supporter. Und die werden jetzt hängen gelassen weil die Firma auf Plaste wechselt.
Da wir nur die Dateien geholt haben betrifft uns das nicht aber ich kann verstehen wenn ein Teil der Backer sehr unzufrieden ist.
Bei uns ist das Spiel auch recht schnell wieder eingeschlafen es sind ein paar dabei geblieben aber den Hype konnte es irgendwie nicht halten. Mal sehen wie der Langfristige Trend sich entwickelt

Okayisch heißt genau das „Okay. Nicht toll man kann damit arbeiten, ginge aber besser.“

Ja doch, die Wortwahl ist schon zutreffend wenn die STLs so schlecht Desinged sind das die Modelle hinterher beim Spielen aufplatzen und giftige Gase/flüssigkeiten entweichen können.
Frechheit ist da noch freundlich wenn man bedenkt wie schädlich das sein kann.
Auch die Defamierung gegenüber einen User der auch zugleich belege bringt ist wieder abenteuerlich.
Wie war das nochmal mit den Gatekeeping? Gibt kein positives nech?
Diffamierung von Usern? Meinungspolizei? Gatekeeping? Ich komme hier aus dem Staunen nicht so ganz heraus. Es geht um den modus operandi der Meinungen, den ich kritisiere – die verbale Dramatisierung, die Unterstellung von bösen Absichten bei Verantwortlichen bzw. deren „natürliche“ Inkompetenz und die Einnahme einer abgehobenen und unfehlbaren Beobachterperspektive, die „genau bescheid weiß“. Nichts darf „gut“ sein, jeder Fehler / jedes Problem wird zum unverzeihlichen Akt des Verrats oder der Blödheit hochstilisiert. DAS ist mein Kritikpunkt.
Mach Dir mal wegen Achims Kommentar keinen Kopf, der meint nicht Dich, sondern ist seit einer Weile auf einem privaten Crusade (höhö) gegen mich und den Brückenkopf, weil wir irgendwie gemein zu ihm waren.
Was das generell geschilderte Thema betrifft:
– Das Thema mit den Resinfallen ist drängend, man muss hier aber auch dringend erwähnen, dass es derzeit gefühlt nur Bild einer tatsächich geplatzten Miniatur gibt, selbst das überkritische „Abrechnungsvideo“ gegen Trench Crusade untermalt diesen Punkt mit einem Modell, das überhaupt nicht zu TC gehört.
– Die STLs wurden überarbeitet, selbst der UU bezeichnet sie jetzt als „okayish“ und bei den nachgelieferten Drucken hat sich die Qualität ebenfalls gebessert. Ich habe selbst privat gedruckte Minis, Freunde von mir haben nahezu die gesamte Range und das Ganze hat schlicht völlig problemlos funktioniert. Ja, anekdotische Evidenz, aber hier weiter so zu tun, als wäre alles Mist und in seitenlangen Posts eine Abrechung aufzumachen, von der bei näherer Betrachtung einfach viele Baustellen nur noch in einem ziemlich industrietypischen Maß übrig bleiben, ist ein Stil, den ich nicht sinnvoll finde.
Zum Thema weitere Resin-Releases:
Das finde ich etwas schräg: Sofern die Backer ihre Pledges erhalten haben (egal ob digital oder physisch) ist der Kickstarter erfüllt. Es gibt zumindest im Rahmen der Kampagne kein Abo-Versprechen für weitere Minis in diesem Format, und gerade angesichts der deutlich gewordenen Skalierbarkeitsprobleme mit der Produktion ist der Wechsel zu Plastik logisch und sinnvoll.
Neue STL-Projekte gibt es trotzdem wie Sand am Meer (so viele, dass sich hier sogar regelmäßig darüber beschwert wird), es ist also immer noch für jeden was dabei.
Und zum Thema „Die STL-Backer werden hängen gelassen“: Das wäre nur korrekt, wenn es wirklich weiterhin Mängel gibt, die über ein erwartbares Maß hinausgehen und keine Ambitionen, diese jemals zu beheben. Davon einfach auszugehen und es als Tatsache hinzustellen, gehe ich schlicht nicht mit.
Ich würde mir also wirklich mal ein wenig verbale Abrüstung und eine Versachlichung der Debatte wünschen, aber ich bin auch schon zu lange im Internet unterwegs, um mir da echte Hoffnungen zu machen.
Auch wenn ich die ganz nett finde bin ich inzwischen froh nicht irgendwann in TC eingestiegen zu sein ,den A ich drucke nicht (selber) und b gefühlt kommt min. einmal pro Woche einen Neue Charge an Minis und Co raus.Das führt bei mir zu einer deutlichen Ermüdung da natürlich die Grundidee recht übersichtlich ist
Das mit den Minis is nicht so schlimm, wenn du deine Fraktion gefunden hast. Sind quasi alles Antiochvarianten.
Ein bisschen schade das die meisten so gelangweilt Rum stehen. Ein bisschen mehr Einsatz im Kampf gegen die hölle wäre schön schön.
Also ich kann nur sagen, das wir so ziemlich alle Dateien im KS gekauft hatten, und damit sehr zufrieden sind und auch damit spielen.
Die Bücher kamen verspätet, aber in Gutem Zustand (ohne Schäden) an.
Sehr detailreich und gut Illustriert.
Ja, ich glaube in der ersten Übertragung waren einige STL‘s fehlerhaft, aber die wurden schnell ersetzt, bzw. Behoben.
Die Kommunikation war für uns immer zufriedenstellend.
Unser KS wurde zur vollsten Zufriedenheit erfüllt.
Was dieser Umstrittene User schreibt, ist nichtmal eigene Erfahrung, oder wird dramatisch übertrieben.

Die Dateien hab ich schon bekommen und gedruckt (die ich wollte)
aber ich hab auch alle Supports neu gesetzt und die Dateien repariert wo Löcher waren das mache ich aus Gewohnheit neben bei. Mich hat das also nicht gekratzt, erst nach dem Gejammere hab ich mir die Dateien angesehen und muss sagen das sie sehr schlecht waren in der ersten Version.
Wir hatten andere in der Gruppe die große Problem hatten die Dateien zu drucken. Oder denen Figuren wegen dem gefangen Resin geplatzt sind weil sie das nicht geprüft hatten.
Andere haben einfach auf die rereleases gewartet. Oder haben bis heute nix gedruckt.
Die Bücher und die Würfel sind bei uns auch problemlos angekommen (auch wenn ich es als frech empfunden habe das unser Organisator für die Würfel noch mal porto zahlen musste obwohl er das schon hatte) die waren aber vorhin überhaupt nicht das Thema. Andere hatten da mir ihren Büchern deutlich mehr Pech (auch hier gibt es genug Bilder zu im Netz)
Und übertrieben habe ich gar nix die Probleme sind mehr als ausreichend im Netz dokumentiert und schaut man in den KS sind die über 4k Kommentare jetzt selten voll des Lobes (eher das Gegenteil). Und das Management der Fehler ist auch nicht optimal gelaufen.
Das du gute Erfahrungen gemacht hast,
in meiner Gruppe die eher im Bereich okay passt schon sind
und andere immer noch Steil gehen wenn sie TC hören und rot im Gesicht werden ist normal.
Die eigene Erfahrung wird oft überwertet. Da nehme ich mich nicht aus.
Und das meine ich ganz unironisch. Wenn für euch alles gut gelaufen ist ist das schön für euch.
Für andere ist es das nicht so gelaufen also werte diese nicht ab, nur weil deine Anekdotische Evidenz positiver als der Durchschnitt war.
Mal ne Frage zu den „geplatzten“ Modellen? Wie tut denn das? Ist da dann ne Cavität ohne Ablauf gedruckt? Ansonsten sollte das bei STL ja als Vollmaterial gedruckt werden, oder hab ich da was verpasst? Bei meinen Monpoc hab ich beide Varianten schon gehabt, ohne irgendwelche Einschlüsse.
Stimme dir vollkommrn zu, Kiwi. Diese Erfahrung teile ich auch.
Habe alle Figuren gepledged und selber gedruckt. Es gab einige defekte Modelle wo die Supports falsch waren und beim Saint war ein Teil falsch skaliert. Aber es gab genau dafür ein Fehlermeldeformular und innerhalb weniger Tagen waren alle Modelle fehlerfrei.
Das was Umstrittener User beschreibt ist nicht wahr. Ich habe alle Figuren gedruckt und alle haben auf einem ollen Saturn mit Autossupports oder den vorhandenen Supports funktioniert, so wie Resindruck eben funktioniert. Manchmal macht das Resin ein Problem, mal haftet es nicht etc.
Ich hab diese Mythen auch schonmal unter einem anderen Artikel eingeordnet, aber das ist mir die Zeit nicht wert.
