Horde Mode: A New Way to Play One Page Rules
Hello everyone,
Today we’re introducing a whole new way to play One Page Rules: Horde Mode!Playable solo, co-op, and even competitively against an enemy player controlling the horde, Horde Mode rules allow players to face off against continuous enemy waves, trying to survive to get a high score.
As you and your friends defeat waves of enemy models, they’ll gain rewards and grow more powerful. But the hordes you’re facing against are relentless and will continue to charge onto the battlefield. Will you be able to hold the line and survive the onslaught of the horde?
After picking your favorite OPR game to play, the defending players will build their forces of either armies, strike teams, warbands, or heroes and set up a battlefield with several objectives you will need to defend.
Next, you’ll build the enemy forces or enemy collection using the Horde Mode rules specific to the game you’re playing. This is a great way to get some of your favourite models on the table and make full use of your growing mini collections!
Then you’ll deploy your forces, the first wave of enemies, and start playing! You will need to coordinate and support each other as the Enemy tries to overwhelm and destroy the objectives on the board, while you desperately defend them in order to grow stronger, survive longer, and get a better score at the end of the game.
As the game progresses, you will get to upgrade your units and heroes as they earn experience from kills and gain points from defending the objectives and can potentially even deploy new units onto the field.
The game ends when all of the defending player’s units have been shaken or destroyed, objectives have been destroyed, or the defending players survive a set number of rounds determined by the game you’re playing. Then determine the defending player’s score!
Playing with GF: Star Quest & AoF: Quest
Playing Horde Mode with Grimdark Future: Star Quest & Age of Fantasy: Quest is a great way to experience our Solo and Co-Op Adventure games in a single game night while still getting to see your favorite heroes level up and grow more powerful!
All you’ll need to do to play besides downloading the PDFs above is to choose Horde Mode when you start your next mission in Army Forge.
Select your heroes, select your Enemy Force, and generate your first wave! The software will handle the rest as you play, clearing units and leveling up and growing your heroes.
Please note that Heroes are temporarily reset to level 1 while they’re playing in a Horde Mode game, giving you a chance to re-experience the growth of higher level heroes or try out new build paths that are different than the ones you originally chose.
That’s all you need to know to get started playing Horde Mode! So grab some models, grab some friends, and see how high a score you can beat!
