Greenhouse WIP Update!
I made some very good progress on the modular greenhouse release for may, in the last couple of days! As I’m away this weekend to attend the Ludiverse tabletop Expo I put some extra effort into the greenhouse project!
Some core features are: modular design so you can choose how long your greenhouse should be!
Modular wall panels so you can choose if you want the version with the holes for the glass or if you want solid versions or even a mix. Another modular piece is the loading Bay Area extension for the rear part of the greenhouse and a side wall piece with an side entrance option.
I‘ll show you some pictures now so you get an better overview! Just a quick information up front: nothing is glued together yet, besides the roof. So some stuff might look a bit misaligned in the pictures 😀
- The greenhouse setup with 3 modules, one side entrance and the loading bay expansion
- The glass panels will be also provided as an STL file so you can print it in clear filament (I used PLA)
- The roof also has windows that you can assemble to be open or closed.
- The assembly is pretty straight forward. Print the foundation, choose and print the walls and then do the same thing for the roof
- The inner layout provides a good amount of space for planters and other scatter items!
The greenhouse is getting really close to be one of my favorite center pieces so far!
I have experimented with other versions to add the glass look. Like a big plastic sheet sandwiched between two half’s of the wall but that made the whole printing h and assembly process super annoying, unstable and wonky.so I had to reiterate and I went with the option shown above.
you could always add just one single piece of clear plastic underneath the roof windows for example. However I think the effort to print the glass will be worth it in the end to get a real nice and unique look!
I also started to paint the police officers that will release alongside the greenhouse. as you can see it’s very very early in the painting stage but I wanted to share the progress with you guys!
The next steps are:
Finishing the last greenhouse details like doors, the rear gate, the planters and plants for inside and some optional internal walls for a small office area.
Finish painting the cops
Painting and basing the Greenhouse!
Start tinkering with LED‘s to kitbash some „growth lamps“ to light up the greenhouse! I think this could be really fun and add a very unique look and feel to the games 🙂
I‘m really looking forward to work on the greenhouse and police minis when I get home from the Ludiverse convention!
Currently it looks like everything is going like planned and will be ready for the 1st of May!
