Malifaux: Special Orders zur 4. Edition

This week, Waldo decided it was finally time to make his case for becoming a Malifaux Fourth Edition master. His plan involved borrowing a very large spoon “just like Mah Tucket’s,” painting dragon scales on his belly to channel Shenlong, and loudly declaring that intimidation is just another form of leadership. While the office applauded the enthusiasm (and the courage), it was agreed that Waldo may still need a little more seasoning before joining the official roster.

Speaking of Malifaux Fourth Edition, we want to take a moment to talk about special orders and show off one of the new models arriving with updated crews.

As masters and their keywords are reboxed for Malifaux Fourth Edition, some boxes include completely new models packaged alongside existing ones. For players who already own most or all of a keyword, those new models will be supported through special orders for one year. This is intended to let players add individual new models to their collections without needing to rebuy an entire box.

A great example of a model that will be an upcoming special order is Crumb, who appears in the Nekima, Broodmother box.

As a human, Crumb was a sniveling man who relied on his silver tongue to manipulate those around him. Now, as a Half-Blood, he serves as Nekima’s go-between with the Half-Blood population. His political skills serve his queen well, striking a careful balance between the true Nephilim and those wretches who used to be human.

On the table, Crumb is the Totem for Nekima, Broodmother, and his presence introduces meaningful decisions about timing and positioning. With limited defensive options, choosing when to activate Crumb becomes a calculated risk, forcing players to decide between acting early to shape the turn or waiting for the perfect moment to strike.

Crumb’s Wild Rampage signature action is where he truly earns his place. It allows another model to move up to 5”, potentially damaging enemies along the way. In the hands of a clever player, it can even damage friendly models to trigger Black Blood. This makes Wild Rampage an excellent tool for positioning the melee-focused Brood keyword exactly where it needs to be. It also pairs perfectly with Nekima, Broodmother’s The Strong Survive action, helping Nephilim grow once they are deep in enemy territory.

Wild Rampage is not Crumb’s only contribution. His Probing Question attack lets him deal damage while placing Entranced tokens on enemies, setting them up for heavier hits later in the turn. He also brings Resupply, allowing him to sculpt your hand and maintain momentum as the fight unfolds. Together, these tools let Crumb help control the flow of battle around his team while limiting the effectiveness of the enemy.

Brood is the perfect keyword for players who love getting into their opponent’s face quickly and hitting hard. While Crumb is not the one delivering the killing blows, he is a vital piece in getting the Nephilim queen’s crew into position to execute that plan.

We also want to give a quick update on the Faction Books and Faction Packs. These have been in progress for some time, and while we had planned for a very tight turnaround at the finish line, final shipping and customs processing have added some unexpected delays.
