Help Shape the Future of Pannithor
Kings of War 4th Edition has now been out in the wild for a few months, armies are clashing across tabletops around the world, and the next major chapter is almost here.
With Fracture launching at the end of June, the Siege of Samarik campaign coming this summer, and a major wave of new miniatures arriving, this is a big moment for Kings of War.
So, before the battles ahead get even bigger, we want to hear from you.
Today, we’re launching the Kings of War Community Survey, giving you the chance to share feedback on 4th Edition so far, submit ideas for future Command Orders, and suggest new units you’d love to see added to your favourite armies.
We’re also making the new Kings of War Starter Rules available as a free PDF download, to help more players get into the game and get ready for the battles to come.
Have Your Say on Kings of War
The survey is a chance for you to tell us how you’re finding Kings of War 4th Edition so far. What’s working? What do you love about your faction? What could be clearer, sharper or more exciting? Where does your army feel exactly right, and where could it use a little more flavour?
This guy is having his say. Will you?
We’re especially interested in three big areas: faction identity, Command Orders and new unit ideas.
Command Orders are one of the major new tools in 4th Edition, and we want them to help armies feel more distinct on the battlefield. They should reinforce how a faction fights, what its commanders bring to the table, and what makes that army feel different from every other force in Pannithor.
As previously mentioned, the survey gives you the chance to submit your own Command Order ideas. You can suggest up to three for a faction, but we strongly encourage quality over quantity. A smaller number of refined, well considered ideas is much more useful than a long list of rough concepts. If you’ve had the chance to test an idea with friends, even better.
When thinking about Command Orders, remember that they represent heroes issuing commands on the battlefield. In general, they should affect your own units rather than directly damaging or weakening the enemy. If your idea feels more like an offensive spell, it probably isn’t quite right for a Command Order.
Charting the course ahead
We’re also asking for new unit ideas. This is your chance to tell us what you think your favourite army is missing. Maybe there’s a battlefield role that feels under-represented. Maybe there’s a unit that would perfectly capture the fantasy theme of that faction.
For these suggestions, think about ideas that could realistically become resin or digital miniatures rather than new hard plastic sprues. Rather than core infantry or cavalry, we’re especially interested in heroes, monsters, war engines, large infantry, large cavalry and the like.
If you’d like to submit concept sketches or artwork to support your unit idea, you can email them to:
- kowslowgrow2026 [at] manticgames.com
Please make sure your email clearly states who you are and which unit idea your artwork relates to. It will also help if you mention in your survey response that you’re submitting artwork separately, so we know to look out for it.
- The link to the survey is here. The deadline for responses is the end of Sunday 28th June.
Get Ready Now for a Big Summer of Battles
The survey is one way to get involved in the future of Kings of War, but it’s not the only thing happening. This summer is shaping up to be an exciting one for Pannithor!
The Fracture Expansion Book will continue the story of the Xirkaali invasion, the Green Lady’s growing intervention, the unrest within Basilea and the horrors stirring in the Abyss. It also brings new army lists, scenarios, Command Orders, list-building options and gameplay updates for players to explore.
Alongside the book, we’re releasing a huge new wave of Forces of Nature miniatures featuring the long-awaited Herd, plus new miniatures and army sets for Basilea, Forces of the Abyss and Ogres.
The Slow grow challenge is still underway too, with hobbyists across the community building and painting armies toward the final milestone in July. If you haven’t seen the latest community army spotlights, you’re missing out! They’re here and here.
And then, in August, the Siege of Samarik campaign will begin. We’ll have more to share about the campaign in due course, but for today the message is simple: now is the time to prepare for war!
Start a new army. Finish an old one. Add the units you’ve been meaning to paint. Get some games in. Bring a friend into the hobby. Help someone play their first game. Build momentum at your club, store or local gaming group. Wherever you’re at in your own journey, there’s never been a better time to get involved and to help grow the community.

Das System ist so gut…. Wüsste jetzt erstmal nichts, was man verändern könnte.
Bei der Range wären natürlich die Elfen und Zwerge fällig.
Da müsste mal was passieren.
