Full Spectrum Dominance: Swarm Mode Kampagne
Die Swarm-Kampagne für Full Spectrum Dominance ist erfolgreich gestartet!
The SWARM has awakened!
After three successful campaigns, Full Spectrum Dominance expands its horizon with two new factions, a new terrain range, and the long-awaited SOLO/COOP rules!
The Detached and the Hive are now ready to face the game’s six factions with a novel game mechanism: the Collective. This new game mode puts players in control of the opposing Swarm.
In terms of models, as usual, everything has been sculpted and painted, and is ready to download from day one: you can start printing right away! The more supporters join the campaign, the more milestones we unlock!
You might notice some pretty big updates hidden in the roadmap:
- Three new units for the Hive, and rules for a complete player-controlled force for the faction. Yes, this would bring the total factions of FSD to seven!
- Since the Detached required a full-resculpt of some of the Tech models… why not update most of the Tech models, for free, for everyone who purchased it in the past? Yes, that includes people that are not even aware of this campaign!
- At least another 10 terrain pieces for the range!
Full Spectrum Dominance (or FSD in short) is a print-and-play miniature wargame for epic combined-arms small-scale (6-8mm to 15mm and up) sci-fi miniatures. Vehicles and mechs are handled individually, and infantry troops move in small teams, either as grouped figures or multi-based stands.
Winner of the 2022 OnTabletop Industry Awards, the FSD rules are published as a living rulebook which is constantly updated digitally – both manual and cards – just like the armies with new stretchgoals and new models.
SWARM Mode is the product of two years of design and testing, thanks to the amazing community, creating what is in effect a new game system that complements FSD, allowing players to play solo or co-op.
Enemies are not controlled through random actions, or with a flowchart. Players roll a separate set of Activation dice for the Swarm, and through the Collective Cards must pick between different commands for the Unit to receive.
Every choice brings consequence, and the players are at any point trying to win, choosing the lesser evil while trying to achieve the scenario’s goals, and of course surviving.
Each of the six available scenarios provides different levels of difficulty, by varying the amount of ADs the Swarm rolls, and by setting achievements for the players to unlock. This widens the scope of the game, opens up to many new challenges, mixing and matching between forces and Swarm opponents!
Whether you are an avid solo player, or if you just want to have a friendlier game with friends, or you’re just impatient to try out your new warband, this expansion should be right up your alley. If you want to know more, we have an active Discord where the solo community is now teeming!
The Hive
The first encounters with the Hive occurred well before the Schism, deep beneath the crust of Ruun. Workers from Smokestark, a factory-city now under the influence of Governor’s Gate, uncovered a vast network of burrows and some smaller creatures while drilling for thermal energy. It was not deemed a major threat at first, but things escalated quickly.
Now the polymorphic species of the Hive infests many abandoned areas throughout the System, and sporadically appears out of nowhere to wreak havoc.
Born from the concept designs of Al Voss, the crab-like appearances of the creatures is due to carcinization, a phenomenon that was recorded on Old Earth, but holds true throughout space. Their claws are excellent in close combat, and their lack of ranged attacks is compensated by sheer numbers.
Their Collective Cards focus on rapid bursts and charges, and their larger creatures, the Brute and the Breeder, are exceptionally hard to take down.
The Detached
In the war that followed the Schism, the Tech dealt enormous damage to humanity – but received even harder blows. Entire armies suffered damage to their Sentient Cores, severing their link to the central intelligence that once guided them.
These fractured constructs, no longer truly part of the Tech, started behaving erratically and left the battlefield, headed in random directions towards the horizon, becoming the Detached.
Not as coordinated and lethal as the pristine Tech forces, the Detached can rely on their number and their linear thinking: “there is the enemy, there is where I must go”.
Despite their state of decay, the larger Units, such as Socrates and Zeno rigs, are still capable of using some of their weapons, and even to jump across the battlefield in rare occasions. Combining this with their ranged attacks makes them very effective in controlling the battlefield.
The Wastelands
The Wastelands range of terrain elements adds a new direction to the FSD tables – proving that decay and abandonment can belong to the natural landscapes as well as the urban ruins!
Each piece of terrain is packed with details and little stories, sculpted both for a quick drybrush to highlight it all, as well as for an obsessive painter to highlight every last gas tank and panel.
Many of the large elements are really, really large. However, they are all designed to fit on a small printer bed, and to reduce resin consumption.
Milestones
As per tradition, our unlocked milestones are based on the number of supporters rather than the total fund raised – we care about you, even if you just chip in!
Lastly – a huge thanks to the illustrators and concept artists that helped me making the SWARM real!
- Al Voss – The concept artist and illustrator behind the Hive creatures
- Taha Yeasy ( https://www.youtube.com/@ArtofTYZR )
As well as the countless people in the community that tested, painted, suggested, criticized, and endured my tantrums over the years. First among all the testers, Kevin Werth, who patiently went through all the scenarios, providing precious feedback.
Thank you all.
Die Kampagne läuft noch 41 Tage und ist finanziert.

Giant enemies crabby, country me in!

Also gigantisch teilweise
So viele tolle projekte, sooo wenig Zeit.
