Everything You Get in April! Drop Troopers Redux & Dragon Commando Loyalty Packs
Hello Patrons,
It’s time for the full gallery of parts and multi-shell breakdown!
Drop Troopers Redux
In the images below, you can see that we’ve highlighted certain elements in bright orange, blue, green, etc (and you’ll see similar images in many of our previous releases too!), and various images say „multi-shell“ on them.
These colours mean that each highlighted element is actually a separate „shell“ – a complete 3D object that it is possible to move, scale, interchange, or even remove entirely! Want to know how? We’ve got a few excellent text and video resources for you to check out;
Full written instructions of how to use Multi-Shell features in both MeshMixer and Blender can be found here.
Sonic Sledgehammer’s Video Tutorial using MeshMixer.
And finally, an in-depth Blender Tutorial that covers advanced movement and manipulation of individual shells, as well as a whole lot more if you’re interested!
There are two styles of helmeted heads, the first with a heavy armoured faceplate, and the second with more of a high-altitude mask and googles. For each style there is the option for the enclosed helmet, or shelled versions that make the masks removable!
The torsos feature all new webbing and reworked armour panels, alongside optional pouches, sidearms, and safety bars over the shoulder. Each set of 5 torsos for Regiments male/female joints has a version with a jump pack mounted on the back, or left plain.
Our Drop Trooper legs have seen a complete overhaul with updated (and optional) armour and enhanced mobility exoskeletons. If you’re really keen on this new mechanism we’ve also provided a Digital Kitbash version of the exoskeleton that’s fully posable!
We’d love to see your kitbashes with this little extra part! If you do, let us see over on our Discord
The arms have likewise been overhauled to match the new aesthetics of the Drop Troopers, with optional vambrace, wrist computer, elbow pads, pauldrons, and shelled stock too! That makes any weapon swap from our back catalogue so much easier.Alongside those arms we also have some upper bodies, combining the specialist underslung grenade launcher with the torso so we can push the poses a little bit further. As you can see, there’s an absolute multitude of Multi-Shells on these!
The assault rifle has been entirely reimagined with lots of little details, as well as many shelled, optional elements and posing opportunities — the iron sights can be flipped up, the scope or magazine removed, and the underslung GL breach can even be slid open! There’s also a brand new smart pistol and a tactical tomahawk wrapped in paracord.
Finally we have the flag bearer, with the Drop Trooper’s banner flying free in the wind, as she stands atop some battlefield rubble. Everything that could be kept shelled has been, including both arms and the head, so you can use this figure as the basis of your own kitbashed characters!
Loyalty Reward – Kira & Dakota Commando Characters + Mauler Drill
Each month we give everyone a little something extra that helps build out the previous month’s kit. A loyalty reward for everyone that sticks with us, month after month.
In April, everyone that supports us here or on MyMiniFactory at the Modular & Multi-Shell level or higher, will get all the parts shown below absolutely free!
Inside this loyalty pack you’ll find:
- Kira with 3 optional arms, two with swords and the other with a PCR pistol, and a scenic base. Optional elements that were shelled in the main Dragon Commando release are likewise Multi-Shelled here!
- Dakota with 2 optional arms, one with a sword and the other a PCR pistol, and a scenic base. Dakota is also highly Multi-Shelled.
- 2 x Mauler Drill drones. One in a supine pose, the other in a jack-knifing aggressive posture. Both have the segments of their bodies kept shelled to allow for digital posing, as well as their battery pack and various vents along their body. One also has the drill parts shelled too.
- 4 x Mauler Drill mechanical tentacles with optional grabbers or whip ends.
- 1 x Ambush token, with a Mauler partially concealed in the rubble.
We can’t wait to see what you do with these sets when they release, but here’s a few ideas for what can be achieved with the new Drop Troopers!
