A shadow made manifest: the Phantasm

Gliding from the shadows to descend on Immoren, the Dusk Phantasm tears away from the cloud’s curtain and is coming to a battlefield near you.

The Phantasm also offers customisation straight out of the box, with two distinct head options, two chest configurations, and left/right Hex Blade loadouts — so you can tailor its profile to suit your list, your style, or your personal vision of terror..

Pre-orders for the long-whispered colossal go live July 8, today we’re lifting the veil on the Phantasm.

Designed to embody the elegance, menace, and arcane precision of House Kallyss, the Phantasm combines high mobility, utility, and brutal melee potential. It’s also got the looks to match: part fallen angel, part aerial arsenal.

Pair the Phantasm with the House Kallyss Auxiliary Expansion to bring a whole eclipse to your Dusk army.

Old Umbrey rises tomorrow

Two powerful new entry points into the Old Umbrey force hit shelves July 3 — and whether you’re here for druidic dreadnoughts or primal fury, you’ll want to be ready.

The Old Umbrey Command Starter gives you a potent 30-point force for Warmachine and an ideal launching point for building your Khador Old Umbrey army.

Bodhan travels with Vorony, his cunning crow familiar. He also leads Strix, his bonded warbeast, gifted with foresight to protect the sacred grounds of the north, and guide Bohdan’s fate.

The Chosen of the Witch — Dawn, Zenith, and Nightfall — are a terrifying trio, each manifesting a different aspect of the witch’s will. This force leads from the front, bound to the Old Witch, summoning nature’s wrath to defend her realm.

The Old Umbrey Battlegroup Box is a great way to get started with Khador Old Umbrey, or a solid reinforcement to any Old Umbrey collection. With a warlock and two brutal, customisable warbeasts, it’s ideal for starting an army before scaling up to larger conflicts.

Kapitan Galina Lissya, the Winter Fox, is an apex predator in the cold Khadoran forests. A deadly scout and marksman raised in the wilderness and fueled by vengeance. Her bonded warbeasts — the Primeval and Feral — are primal horrors rendered in iron muscle, led by brutal instincts.

Get ready to fight for Khador’s wild side, pre-order now and be ready for launch on July 03

New lore: Saga – The Old Ways Chapter 2

Wm Colossal 10

In the latest instalment of The Old Ways, the stage is set for an unforgettable showdown.

Sorscha’s journey through the wilds of Umbrey leads to a hidden enclave beneath the ruins of Old Korska — and into the path of Bhodan Lesnoi, Arloff Omirov, and a reckoning with prophecy, legacy, and war.

“Old Korska was once the thriving capital of what was then the kingdom of Umbrey. Its wide stone streets were built for the hooves of the finest horses in the land, and its buildings of stone and timber were once marvels of engineering, architecture, and beauty. That was long ago, however, many years before Sorscha was even born.

By the time she was old enough to hear of it, Old Korska had long since fallen into ruin, a reminder of their history lost to the locals, a cautionary tale and bedtime story to anyone else in the Motherland. What had become the Volozk of Umbrey was an untamed land with few major cities. For centuries, since the founding of the Iron Kingdoms, the seat of power there had been Castle Tzepesci in the north, home to the last of the land’s former rulers, Vladimir Tzepesci, until his demise at Henge Hold.

It still was, so far as she knew, though no Tzepesci now inhabited it. The last she had heard it was held by Arloff Omirov, a man she knew and whom Vlad had trusted, leaving him behind as castellan until his child was old enough to take up the mantle. Now, however, she was told that Omirov was no longer at Castle Tzepesci, that he had been dismissed and replaced by an imperial lackey named Lysenko.

This would have been shocking, infuriating news had she not learned so much in the last few hours that was far more shocking still.

It had begun with the appearance of Bhodan Lesnoi, a man unlike any Sorscha had ever encountered. Vlad had often accused her of freezing her own heart, and she had to admit that, with the exception of her reaction to the Dark Prince himself, she had. This had protected her from a great many things over the years, and it, combined with her training and skill as a warcaster, had inured her to the presence of power.

She had fought alongside some of the most potent arcanists in the world and against creatures and beings that could very nearly be called gods. From Lesnoi, she felt a power different than any she had ever encountered before.

Charisma, it could easily have been called in another setting. Magnetism might have been more accurate. It wasn’t that she was attracted to him—he did not kindle in her any of the feelings that Vlad once had, feelings she had effectively choked to death in the years since he had left her. But Lesnoi put her at ease in a way that she—a soldier from the days of her youth—found disconcerting.”

This week, we’re thrilled to shine the spotlight on a breathtaking diorama by Stéphane Nguyen Van Gioi.

Stéphane has recreated the unforgettable moment from EMERGENCE, where Rhyas — twisted by despair and fury — manifests her first Khymaera and leads it against the Cephalyx in a battle for his very soul.

August MiniCrate: Eviscerus loses his mind

Ever looked at Discerptor Eviscerus and thought, “What if Cryx had even less respect for the dead?”

Wm Colossal 16

Say hello to August’s MiniCrate: Eviscerus Cephalyx Twist. This experimental alternate sculpt fuses Cryxian carnage with the cold, clinical horror of the Cephalyx. Expect extra limbs, brain tubes, and a look only a mother-mind-slaver could love.

Make sure you’re subscribed to MiniCrate by July 27 to secure this one when it releases in August — and check out the Cryx Necrofactorium range if you’re building a theme force to match the unsettling nature of these nightmares.

That’s all for this week…

…but the battlefield is only heating up.
