Mithril Miniatures: Gandalf auf Schattenfell in Helms Klamm
Mithril Miniatures haben eine neue Miniatur im Programm, Gandalf der Weiße auf Schattenfell, auf dem Weg die Belagerung von Helms Klamm zu brechen.
Gandalf at Helm’s Deep UV Resin Miniature – 24,35 Euro
Gandalf rode Shadowfax to the aid of Helm’s Deep, accompanied by 1 thousand foot soldiers lead by Erkenbrand. His plan was to arrive just at dawn to utilise the vulnerable nature of Orcs to bright sunlight (due to their preferences to dark places) and launched a charge into the disorientated enemy. This resulted in the Orcs being surrounded on all sides, including a mysterious forest springing up overnight. When Theoden’s forces attacked at the same time as Erkenbrand, the Orcs panicked and ran towards the forest only to fall victim to a terrible fate among Huorns and Ents that hid their nature until too late.
Only 92 of these figures are produced at this time. This is the 214th release in the Gold Status Fellowship club. This was not a fellowship winning idea but Chris Tubb decided to create it to fill a long term gap in the range with something truly iconic. This is the twenty-seventh fully UV resin release. It is unprimed to maximise detail. This release comes in two parts, a mounted figure and a staff with partial arms attached. It is 32mm scale. The base has the manufacturer name MITHRIL, the sculptor’s name and creation date and MZ number on the sides of the base.

Ist da ernsthaft der Arm an das Bein anmodelliert? Wenn das ein Guss wäre könnte man das noch verstehen, aber bei einem Druck vollkommen unnötig.
Aber insgesamt ein sehr liebloser Sculpt, wie immer halt. Total verwaschene Details am Pferd. Die Hufe kann man nur erahnen.
Sehe ich ähnlich. Da kann man sich gleich für 28 Euro (Preis mit Rabatt) das original holen. Da ist dann sogar noch Gandalf zu Fuß und Pippin mit dabei…
Am meisten stört mich ehrlich gesagt, der Stützstab am Huf des Tieres. Schade, dass man das nicht statisch anders hat modelieren können. So sieht das für mich einfach doof aus.
Überzeugt mich nicht der Druck. Das geht besser und sollte es sein, wenn man es gewerblich verkauft.
Dazu etwa zirka 15-20€ zu teuer.
Zu dem Gesagten kommt noch der lieblose Stab hinzu, bei dessen Spitze der Künstler wohl einfach keine Idee mehr hatte.
Wenn Mithril einfach ne günstige Alternative zu GWs Minis wäre, könnte man diese Sachen nachvollziehen, aber da sie einfach dieselben überhöhten Preise nehmen, kann man sich dann auch besseres von Davale usw. nehmen, die auch ohne eigenen Drucker noch günstiger wegkommen.
Das Frappanteste ist der Schärfeunterschied zwischen Gandalf und dem Ross. Was die sich dabei wohl denken?
