Mantic haben neue Kings of War-Halblinge in der Vorbestellung.
Halfling Ej Squadron – €50.00
Fast and agile, and equipped with bombs and other weapons, Ej Grenadiers can strike an enemy from the flank or rear and turn the tide of a battle in moments. The daring (some might say foolhardy) volunteers who fly in these contraptions are the idols of the halfling youth. Along with the flying machines the Ej halflings have built, there are also the injured drakons they have nursed back to health or repaired with mechanical wings. There are only a handful of them, but they are able to assist the airships in scouting and patrolling.
Halfling Forest Troll Gunners & Sergeant – €65.00
Soon after settling in Ej, the halflings befriended the forest trolls who live in the Forest of Vieshlar. While not naturally aggressive, the trolls do love a good fight. Armed with massive clubs and very hard to kill, the trolls are the ideal assault troops, able to smash through enemy lines like a battering ram. Some trolls have consented to allow halflings to ride on their shoulders and crew a small swivel gun to give them some firepower. These guns have been designed and tuned by Ej’s Gunnery Sergeants, each one a keen inventor and marksman, eager to test their latest prototypes on the battlefield.
Halfling War Engines – €50.00
The halflings’ affinity for tinkering has allowed them to build a number of powerful war machines. The most basic are multi-barreled volley guns which are short-ranged, but very deadly against massed targets, or howitzers that can lob explosive bombs for long distances. Other untried, but potentially powerful, wepaons are the Swamp Belchers. These are drakons which have undergone a strange metamorphosis, due to a diet of swamp fungus. They can no longer fly, and their body chemistry changes such that a fire permanently smoulders in their bellies and they become capable of volatile flame projection from their altered digestive systems.
Halfling Hero Pack – €50.00
No army is much use without good leaders. The Halflings of the north have sent their veteran sergeants and muster captains to train the soldiers of Ej. Working alongside the talented engineers for which the tinkerer’s city is famed and the magical saucerors wielding the arcane art of Gastromancy, in every village and town of Ej, the people are preparing. Every village green is now a drill field, and great musters are being held monthly to give larger formations the chance to manoeuvre and engage in mock combats.

Die einen haben sämtlichen Humor zugunsten von Grim Dark aufgegeben und die anderen springen in diese Bresche.
war genau mein Gedanke als ich den Rollstuhl mit Drache gesehen habe…. oder wie meine Frau sagt, wie geil ist das denn, den brauchen wir.
Schade das GW sich so Ernst nimmt mittlerweile
Da sind ein paar sehr außer- bis ungewöhnliche Designs mit dabei, aber auch coole Modelle! Was mich mehr überrascht hat waren die Preise, welche Mantic mittlerweile verlangt 4 Resin Modelle für 50 Eur ist schon eine Ansage. Wobei wenn man es mit GW vergleicht bekommt man für 28;32 Eur nur ein Charakter/Helden-Modell, aber dafür aus Spritzguss Plastik.
Unabhängig davon können Mantic definitiv super gute Regeln schreiben und ich freue mich schon auf die neue Edition für Kings of War! 🙂
Diese Bundles sind allerdings ein Schlag ins Gesicht für alle, die schon Figuren haben. Oder z.B. ein Regiment Trolle spielen wollen.
Im Gegensatz zu früher kann man die Einheiten nämlich nicht mehr nahezu beliebig kombinieren und hat hier dann Modelle, die zugunsten anderer nicht eingesetzt werden können.
