Cool Mini or Not haben ein neues Brettspiel zu God of War angekündigt.
A God of War Board Game is on the Way!
Big news coming out of CMON Expo Thailand, where CMON made it official: we’re publishing a God of War board game!
Spring-boarding off our 2019 release of God of War: The Card Game, a direct adaptation of the 2018 video game title, we’ve partnered with Santa Monica Studio and Sony Interactive Entertainment, this time to enter the incredibly deep world of God of War in a whole new way.
Expo attendees even got a chance to see the debut of first two minis from the game.
God of War (2018) features series protagonist Kratos and his young son, Atreus, as they embark on an epic journey through the Nine Realms of Norse mythology while fighting to protect their family from fearsome creatures and powerful gods. Using this setting as inspiration, our team had created a board game that will let players explore and meet fan-favorite monsters in a brand new way!
While we can’t share too many details right now, we’ve been hard at work with the team at Santa Monica Studio to create an experience fans of the video games will really enjoy!
CMON SVP of US Operations, Geoff Skinner added, “This game has been in the works for years, and I think both gamers and God of War fans will really like the end results. Our main goal was always: ‘Does this feel like God of War?’, and I think the designers did a tremendous job in that regard. Working with Santa Monica Studio and Sony Interactive Entertainment has been an absolute dream, not only guiding us through the God of War setting, but also allowing us to bring the things we do best to the table.”
The upcoming God of War board game is set hit crowdfunding in mid-2024, with retail set for mid-2025.

Schade, definitiv der falsche GoW-Teil für mich… Mal ganz davon ab, dass ich kein Brettspiel dazu brauche… und das auch nicht von CMON via Crowdfunding.

Dito, da es ein CMON Kickstarter ist, halte ich mich raus.
Genau das!
Ich finde Crowdfunding (außer innerhalb der EU) durch die mittlerweile doch sehr hohen Logistikkosten uninteressant. Man spart kaum noch was, wenn überhaupt (und da sind dann noch nicht die Zinskosten des quasi Zinslosen Darlehens einkalkuliert), und besonders bei CMoN hat man dann immer das Gefühl, ein unfertiges Produkt Retail zu kaufen, weshalb ich auch gerne im Laden dran vorbeigehe.
Das galt für Marvel Zombicide
Das gilt für das kommende DC-Zombicide
und erst Recht für God of War.
Ds gute daran: Meine offenen Crowdfundings laufen aus 🙂 – das ist einfach auch was gutes.
Oh zusammen mit dem nervigen Bengel, wenn das mal kein Ausschlusskriterium ist ;-).
Schön, daß in dem Zusammenhang das Video von TWS eingeblendet wird!
Sollte eigentlich vor jedem KS, insbesondere zu den CMON Kickstartern, eingeblendet werden.
Da ich sowieso keinen Bezug zu GoW habe, absolut uninteressant für mich.
Und die (Vor-)Verkaufsstrategie von CMON möchte ich sowieso nicht unterstützen.
Aber davon mal ab: Weiß jemand, wie und wo man an schöne „GoW“-Figuren kommt?
Gibt es jemanden, der Kratos (welche Inkarnation auch immer) im Angebot hat?
Ich habe schon viele Look-Alikes gesehen, die dann aber eben doch nicht Kratos sind, sondern nur angelehnt.

Klukva hatten zwei sehr schöne Varianten. Hab aber gerade gesehen, dass der Shop down ist. Die sitzen ja in Russland. Keine Ahnung, was passiert ist, ob’s komplett dicht ist oder es irgendwie anders weitergeht.

Das kann natürlich momentan viele Gründe haben…
Ich denke, ich werde mich bei Etsy nochmals genauer umsehen. Und sollte es mich beißen, dass ich „jetzt unbedingt“ eine haben muss, dann schau ich mich nach Druckdateien um und frage mal im Freundeskreis, nach einem Gefallen.
Hier geht es auch nur um die Lust, dass man gerne einen schönen Kratos als Charakterfigur hat, wirklich Verwendung habe ich momentan (noch) nicht.
Ich hätte gesagt Brother Vinni ist so ein Kandidat, wo er mal auftauchen könnte, aber da ist er mir noch nicht aufgefallen.
Da ist der Witcher der bekanntere Charakter, den kriegt man öfter.
Puh, cmon hat wieder gerade einen sportlichen KS-Plan mit Lizenen in der Planung.
Ich hoffe die können die Bälle alle im Spiel behalten.
6 KS sind noch in der Mache, davon auch noch 3 mit Fremdlizenz.
Da dürfen keine schwachen KS dabei sein. Gerade bei dem Cyberpunk KS war gut zu sehen, das eine beliebte Lizenz nicht automatisch eine Gelddruckmaschine ist. Ebenso bei lizenzfreien KS wie Mordred.
Hm, und wieder ein KS mit Lizenz con CMON. Da halte ich mich wie die anderen auch eher zurück.
Außerdem bin ich auch eher ein Fan der frühen God of War Spiele und fand die Reihe nach dem Wechsel ins Nordische Setting weniger ansprechend. Natürlich sind es immer noch sehr gute Games, aber ich mochte den alten Kratos irgendwie lieber…
Für Degenesis soll es auch eine Brettspielumsetzung von CMON geben. Wenn das nicht mal nischig in der Nische ist.
