Heute gibt es ein Türchen das nicht direkt mit dem Hobby zu tun hat.

Ich hatte das Vergnügen am vergangenen Wochenende in Lüttich zu sein und bin dort auf einem Künstler Weihnachtsmarkt auf unseren heutigen Künstler gestoßen.

Der belgische Künstler Tompi kombiniert, laut eigener Aussage, traditionelle und moderne Techniken für die Erstellung seiner Werke aus Holz und Metall. Und da sie mich auf dem Markt sehr beeindruckt haben gibt es heute einen Ausflug durch das Portfolio von Tompi.

La Zoulou Mania

Zouloumania is a universe in which three major factions fight for survival. Each with its own motivations and characteristics:

• The Zulus.Their main assets in combat are the use of magic, cooperation with certain animal species and learning by doing.
• Robots, cold and apathetic. They do what they’ve been programmed to do by the Order. Their numbers, strength and productivity make them formidable!
• Cyborgs are – like robots – capable of multiplying and evolving without recourse to any procreation ritual. Their adaptability is unrivalled. The composition of their army evolves according to the pieces of warriors gleaned from battlefields.

If the concept of survival is different for each faction, so are the means used to achieve it. See for yourself!

Which faction is right for you?

Les zoulous

The Zulus live on a planet populated by a wide variety of strange creatures.

Cooperative, friendly little creatures, they have learned to adapt to their hostile world. What’s more, they’ve learned to dominate it to a certain extent. Farming, cooperation with certain species and the use of magic are just a few examples of their resourcefulness. These assets enabled them to survive and create settlements on every continent of this vast world.
In this way, the Zulus coexisted with different forms of life, in relative symbiosis.

Then, a long time ago, a metal and life being „fell from the sky“ and appeared to the Zulus. The Robots, via one of their explorers, had just appeared on the planet…

Let’s hope the arrival of this peaceful robot bodes well for the Zulus!

Les Robots

The Order of Robots is the culmination of the work of the „Kreators“. The Kreators created the robots, and the robots opened up new horizons for them. But the Kreators disappeared a long time ago…

Since then, The Order has been ravaging the universe exponentially to exploit, multiply and install modules for the Kreators. Exploitation, processing and production structures can be seen accumulating along the way, rationalizing planet after planet.

When Explorer One sent a signal of interest to the planet Zulu, the nearest city ship sent the first squad.Among them was Roberto – an empty shell except for the fact that it contains a unique AI programmed to save the plants entrusted to it.Most of the other robots, meanwhile, are less benevolent towards other forms of life…

Let’s hope nothing serious happens to Roberto: the Zulus don’t seem to appreciate the exploitation of their planet by robots!

Les cyborgs

The cyborg faction is the third and last to appear on the battlefield.

Roberto, formerly a gardening robot, came to life following his long exposure/immersion in the planet’s energy.

During his long stay underground, he met „explorer-one“ – or at least what was left of his mind. Following the latter’s account (the kreators, the Order’s raison d’etre, the tree/mana/sense of Life network etc.), Roberto was confronted with the aberration of the Order and the senseless mission to which it had devoted so many temporal credits. As protector of the plants – and now with an unbridled will in every sense of the word – he had to act!

Back on the surface, it was clear that the situation did not lend itself to his new ambitions. He had to act!

Recipe for making a good cyborg:

• Glean bits and pieces of broken robots and Zulus (battlefields are full of them).
• Add some creativity (half a jar is enough)
• To finish, sprinkle on a little magic and a little love.

Like Roberto, you’re ready to contribute to the age of cyborgs!
