Italian Army Elefantino 47mm anti-tank gun – 21,50€

The 47/32 was a licensed Austrian light artillery piece that primarily served in an anti-tank role. When firing HEAT [High Explosive Anti-Tank] rounds, the 47/32 was an effective anti-tank platform in the earlier stages of the war. With a low silhouette (made even lower by the removal of its wheels – a common practice) and relative high mobility, the Elefantino proved itself in battle time and again. The same weapon equipped the main gun of the Italian mainstay tank, the M14/41, and the 47/32 self-propelled gun.

Contains Metal Gun with three Crew with Plastic Base.

Italian Army Breda 2cm AA gun – 21,50€

The Breda 20/65 Model 1935 was developed in Italy and widely used throughout the war. The weapon was diverse, capable as both an anti-aircraft weapon and a ground weapon. After Operation Compass ended in early 1941, the British captured large numbers of Breda 2cm guns and put them to use throughout their armed forces, including the famed LRDG (Long Range Desert Group). They provided the main armament on numerous Italian vehicles, including many of their Autosahariana trucks and AB41 armoured cars amongst others.

WG Italian Army Forward Observer Team 1 WG Italian Army Forward Observer Team 2

Italian Army Forward Observer Team – 8,50€

Whether it is an artillery battery miles away from the battlefield, a naval gunship out to sea, or a ground attack aircraft high above the fighting, such weapons systems would be much less effective without the services of well-trained forward observers. Each infantry division was assigned its own artillery support assets in the Regio Esercito, and although many of the artillery pieces and aircraft were outdated, they were nonetheless quite lethal under the right circumstances. Given the firepower these forward observers could bring to bear on their targets, their neutralization was a high priority to opposing commanders.

WG Italian Army Sniper, Light Mortar And Anti Tank Rifle Teams 1 WG Italian Army Sniper, Light Mortar And Anti Tank Rifle Teams 2 WG Italian Army Sniper, Light Mortar And Anti Tank Rifle Teams 3

Italian Army Sniper, Light Mortar and Anti-tank Rifle teams – 17,00€

Infantry support teams are a vital component of Bolt Action armies. This pack gives you three such teams with which to add much-needed firepower to your Italian Army or Blackshirt force.

The Solothurn anti-tank rifle was a cross between a true anti-tank rifle and a light anti-tank gun. Featuring a light wheeled carriage and a magazine-feed, the Solothurn could achieve a rate of fire of up to 20 rounds per minute.

The Italian army had no specialist sniper rifle, and the relatively light-weight Carcano Model 1891 with its small calibre bullet was not ideally suited to the role. However, in the hands of a skilled marksman the weapon would prove deadly enough.

The Brixia 45mm light mortar was a powerful and successful weapon in the hands of properly trained soldiers. Its rate of fire was higher than similar weapons employed by other nations, and its accuracy was also unparalleled.

WG Blood Red Skies F4U Corsair Squadron 1 WG Blood Red Skies F4U Corsair Squadron 2 WG Blood Red Skies F4U Corsair Squadron 3

Blood Red Skies F4U Corsair Squadron – 33,50€

The Vought F4U Corsair was designed to be a carrier-based fighter but flying from rough island airfields in tropical conditions was no impediment. Battles over Guadalcanal proved their superiority over their Japanese opponents.

The F4U flew over 60,000 operational sorties (only 9,000 sorties flown from carrier decks) for the U.S. Navy & Marines and U.S. Navy through the war (some 40% of total fighter sorties), with only 9,581 sorties (15%) flown from carrier decks. Corsairs claimed 2,140 air combat victories against 189 losses to enemy aircraft, for an overall kill ratio of over 11:1. It also proved its versatility, delivering over 70% of the total bombs dropped by U.S. fighters during the war.

Blood Red Skies Grumman F4F Wildcat Squadron – 33,50€

When the US Navy and Marine Corps entered the Second World War, they had only one effective fighter aircraft available to them: the F4F Wildcat. Fortunately, the Wildcat proved more than equal to the task of holding the line.

The Wildcat was outperformed by the lighter Japanese Zero in turning and climbing, but the Wildcat was much more robust and heavily armed than its opponent. Even when larger, more modern fighters took over the interception role, the useful little Wildcat remained in production until the end of the war.

WG Blood Red Skies Kawanishi N1K2 Shiden Kai 'George' Squadron 1 WG Blood Red Skies Kawanishi N1K2 Shiden Kai 'George' Squadron 2 WG Blood Red Skies Kawanishi N1K2 Shiden Kai 'George' Squadron 3

Blood Red Skies Kawanishi N1K2 Shiden-kai ‚George‘ Squadron – 33,50€

The Kawanishi N1K-2 ‘Shiden Kai’ (“Violet Lightning”) was an Imperial Japanese Navy Air Force (IJNAF) land-based fighter. Known by the Allied forces as “George”, the N1K-2 was considered to be one of the finest land-based fighters flown by the Japanese. Initial defects were addressed in the N1K2-J Kai (‘modified’) version. However, it struggled as an effective bomber interceptor.

Along with high speed, the Shiden-Kai offered pilots a rugged and agile aircraft packing four powerful 20 mm cannons in the wings. The result was an aircraft more than able to compete on level terms with the latest Allied fighters, such as the F6F Hellcat, F4U Corsair, and P-51 Mustang.

Supplied in limited quantities, the IJN distributed it to elite units such as the 343rd Kōkūtai Naval Fighter Group (created on the 25 December 1944 and commanded by Minoru Genda). The new 343rd Kōkūtai claimed Japan’s finest fighter pilots such as Muto and Genda.

WG Blood Red Skies Mitsubishi A6M2 Zero Squadron 1 WG Blood Red Skies Mitsubishi A6M2 Zero Squadron 2 WG Blood Red Skies Mitsubishi A6M2 Zero Squadron 3

Blood Red Skies Mitsubishi A6M2 Zero Squadron – 33,50€

The Mitsubishi A6M Zero was a fast, modern fighter, but had no armour for the pilot. When the Zero was in the hands of aggressive and well-trained pilots this weakness was rarely apparent. Fast and manoeuvrable, and with an extremely long range, it proved a menace to the Allies in the early stages of the Pacific War.

Referred to by its pilots as Reisen (Zero fighter); ‘0’ coming from the last digit of the Imperial Year 2600 in which the aircraft entered service), the official Allied reporting name was “Zeke” though colloquially “Zero” came into common Allied usage as well.

The A6M remains the most famous of all Japanese World War Two warplanes, significant for being the first carrier-borne fighter in the world to be seen as equal to its land-based counterpart. The lack of an adequate successor as technologies moved on meant that the aircraft was developed and produced in vast numbers long after its effective limits had been achieved and surpassed by superior Allied aircraft.

Box Contents:

  • 6 x Warlord Resin A6M2 Zero aircraft
  • 6 x Advantage Flying Bases
  • 1 x Punchboard with Game Tokens
  • 1 x Aircraft Cards (A6M2 Zero)
  • 6 x Trait Cards (3 x No Stalling, 3 x Deep Pockets)
  • 1 x Doctrine Card (Seasoned Pilots)
  • 1 x Waterslide Aircraft Markings Sheet

Blood Red Skies Mitsubishi J2M Raiden ‚Jack‘ Squadron – 33,50€

The sleek J2M Raiden (Thunderbolt) was designed as a bomber interceptor. It proved a dangerous opponent, but it struggled to reach the high-flying B29 Super Fortresses that were its intended prey.

After a year correcting serious engine problems, the sleek Mitsubishi J2M Raiden (“Thunderbolt”) known by the Allied forces as “Jack”, finally arrived in front line squadrons February 1944. Primarily designed to defend against the Boeing B-29 Superfortress, its poor engine performance continued to dog pilots in this pursuit. Despite this, the aircraft was still an intimidating foe when Japanese pilots would use its four-cannon armament and dive and zoom tactics to great effect.

J2Ms operated from Guam and Saipan and a small number of aircraft were deployed to the Philippines. Some Raiden’s were based in Chosen airfields, Genzan (Wonsan), Ranan (Nanam), Funei (Nuren), Rashin (Najin)to fight against Soviet Naval Aviation units.
