GW: Summer Skirmish Preview 2022
Im Rahmen der Summer Skirmish Preview 2022 zeigen Games Workshop einen Ausblick auf kommende Neuheiten für die kleineren Spielsysteme, mit Blood Bowl, Warhammer Underworlds, Necromunda, Warhammer Age of Sigmar Warcry und Warhammer 40.000 Killteam.
Revealed – The Amazons Are Here To Rip Up The Gridiron in Blood Bowl
Kitted out in fabulous teal and saffron livery, the Kara Temple Harpies are organised into distinct positions inspired by their martial culture. Teams field Piranha Warrior Blitzers, Python Warrior Throwers, Jaguar Warrior Blockers, and Eagle Warrior Linewomen.
Amazon teams are as ferocious on the pitch as they are defending their hidden homelands from marauding foes – and they’ll soon be ready for primetime matches in the world of Blood Bowl.
Our sports reporters will have more details soon.
Revealed – Hexbane’s Hunters Plunge into the Dark Heart of the Nethermaze
This mirthless band of Witch Hunters is led by Haskel Hexbane, who has been commanded by the clandestine Order of Azyr to bring the cleansing fires of justice to the abyssal heart of the Nethermaze.
Armed with guns, axes, crossbows, and faithful hounds, these zealous hunters may just stand a chance of overcoming the tenebrous might of the shadow daemons who occupy the maddening halls below Harrowdeep – provided they pray to Sigmar ardently enough.
Hexbane’s Hunters are fast, deadly, and determined – but they’re only human (or canine). As mere mortals trapped in a shifting, sentient labyrinth, each fighter is relatively fragile.* It’s up to you – and their righteous deck of cards – to make every sacrifice worthwhile…
As with every Warhammer Underworlds warband, these grim crusaders come with a complete Rivals deck that you can use out of the box, or combine with other cards – such as the universal cards also included with the warband – to construct your own devious decks.
More Warhammer Underworlds news is coming later in the year.
* Except for the axe-wielding Aemos – he’s a bit of a brute.
Revealed – Goliath Gangers Batter Their Way Across the Ash Wastes With a New Vehicle
The Goliath Mauler is the preferred light vehicle for the musclebound forge-masters of Necromunda. Trading speed and slick manoeuvrability for raw power and the ability to roll over difficult terrain – or other vehicles – the Mauler can thank its power ram and hybrid drive for getting the job done.
Philosophically aligned with the Goliath’s “percussive maintenance” attitude to much of their equipment, the Mauler is a mean machine that can smash straight through the flimsier vehicles of other gangs.
Goliath crew mounted on a Mauler are also emboldened by the roar of powerful engines and the unfolding carnage.
With the prevalence of heavily armoured vehicles, giant bugs, and suits of exo-armour across the Ash Wastes, the Goliaths need all the mechanical muscle they can get.
There’s a fell wind blowing across all of Necromunda as the effects of the Great Rift reverberate across the land. It’s safe to say, you’ll be seeing a lot more happening in the Ash Wastes.
Revealed – Warcry Carves Its Way Into the Gnarled Heart of Ghur in a New Edition
The Gnarlwood is a vast and verdant, yet inhospitable, land full of terrifying predators and overgrown carnivorous plants, in which the flame-wreathed Horns of Hashut clash with the noxious guerilla fighters of the Rotmire Creed.
Warcry: Heart of Ghur is a new boxed game introducing a new edition of Warcry. It brings exciting changes and a new narrative focusing on the violence erupting in the Gnarlwood as disparate factions are drawn there by the great power within.
The Rotmire Creed butt heads with the Horns of Hashut in a string of bloody melees. These purveyors of plagues and putrefaction stalk the swamps and forests of Ghur, kidnapping unwary warriors to experiment on in their pursuit of putrid immortality.
In direct opposition to these filthy footpads are the Horns of Hashut. You may have encountered them before. These cultists are desperate to raze the greenery of Ghur to make way for the forges of their masters… and they’ve got a flamethrower.
These two warbands are battling over esoteric artefacts found in the Ravening Ruin. This crucible of life energy formed around the Realm-shaper engine of a crashed Seraphon temple-ship named Talaxis, creating a ferocious forest – which is beautifully represented by a brand new set of finely detailed terrain.
The box contains everything you need to play, including dice, tokens, cards, measuring sticks, a double-sided gaming board, a new core rulebook, and a Rot and Ruin campaign book detailing the skirmishes between the two warbands.
It isn’t just the warriors of destruction and decay that are drawn to the Ravening Ruin – every warband and faction wants a shot at seizing the forbidden treasures Talaxis offers. So, you’ll be able to get involved with these beastly battles no matter which force you favour.
Revealed – Imperial Navy Breachers Clash With a Kroot Kinband in Kill Team: Into the Dark
Dare you brave the Gallowdark? This ancient space hulk is an amalgamation of countless ships from hundreds of civilisations. It drifts through the void, hopping in and out of the warp and realspace, and now it’s back. Factions from all over the galaxy are sending their boldest and best to plunder its innards – Welcome to Kill Team: Into the Dark.
This is a new Kill Team boxed set that works as a self-contained game, and you can jump right in with everything you need to focus on fast and furious skirmishes in tight corridors.
The Gallowdark is a legendary vessel, tracked by the Imperium for centuries. The Imperial Navy Breachers are among the first to board the hulk after its latest reappearance. Also known as Voidbreachers, these elite soldiers are trained to carry out hazardous boarding actions, with gear and weapons optimised for fighting in cramped quarters of enemy ships.
They aren’t the only space-faring Kill Team to have boarded the Gallowdark. A Kroot Kinband of expert trackers, sharpshooters, and guerrillas is also stalking through the hulk in search of glory, treasure, and fresh meat.*
As you would expect from the innards of a giant spaceship full of gloomy corridors, eerie flashing lights and inviting vents, the terrain you’ll be fighting over is a little different from previous Kill Team boxes. This set lets you create maze-like boards, full of narrow lines of sight and with sturdy doors to breach.
What’s more, every box in the upcoming season of Kill Team is thematically linked, exploring the setting of the Gallowdark further – you can grow your terrain collection throughout the releases, building up an incredible modular Kill Team board along the way.
This isn’t a new edition of the game. All of your existing Kill Teams will work seamlessly. So, you’ll be able to command a raiding party of Ork Kommandos or go hunting for relics with a Voidscarred Corsair team, and who knows what else in the future…
There will be loads of news coming up about this exciting new environment and all the dangers and delights it’s packed with.
* Kroot can eat the brains of their foes to learn their memories, so these meals are nourishing and enlightening.
