Backing Darklands: Second Edition is a great opportunity to get into the dark fantasy world of Darklands for the first time, to expand your existing Darklands collection for the new edition (and grab the new tokens and templates) or maybe just to treat yourself to some fantastic miniatures to paint!
The second edition of Darklands plays much faster than the first edition rules but loses none of the immersiveness and atmosphere of the original. Combat, shooting and sorcery is greatly streamlined but the game’s structure is roughly the same – players alternate the activations of their units, performing actions and reactions with them until each unit on the battlefield has activated, at which point the battle hour (what we call a turn) ends and the units that are left steel themselves for another round of combat, shooting and sorcery!
Rewards
If you’re an experienced Darklands player or just want to get your hands on the rule book before you start, the reward to go for is the DARKLANDS RULE BOOK reward which includes the 412 page A4 hardback rule book itself and the all-new Darklands Summary Boards (4 pages each, A3 folded to A4, printed on thick card) to keep to one side and refer to while you’re playing.

Starter Hosts
All Starter Hosts contain a small Darklands host of around 499 silver – so Encounter Host size – where possible, but there are four flavours, Infantry Starter Hosts, Support Starter Hosts, Mounted Starter Hosts and Monstrous Infantry Starter Hosts. Starter Hosts can be included in a Starter Bundle as shown in the reward above, pledged for singly at £75 for metal hosts and £100 for resin hosts, or pledged for as a double-host deal at £125 for two metal hosts and £160 for two resin hosts as below!
Stretch Goals
As well as the Darklands: Second Edition Rule Book and the starter hosts, you can purchase all of the followings stretch goals individually. Just increase your pledge by the amount indicated!
The new Order Tokens Sets are essentials for Darklands and will be produced when the project is funded at £5,000. As such, they’re the first stretch goal! Printed in high quality on A5 MDF boards and shrink-wrapped so none are lost, the new order token sets – containing a total of thirty 25mm round order tokens – pop easily out of the MDF and look amazing on the battlefield behind your units.
The order tokens themselves have two sides; the realm side, which hides your unit’s order at the beginning of the battle, and the order side, which displays your unit’s actual order – either GENERAL, MOVE, ATTACK, HOLD, FLANK or SCOUT. Orders are used by generals to command their host more effectively!
Choose the realm of your order tokens to match the hosts you’ve pledged for from those listed below. The names listed in red are the kindreds of Darklands; the names listed in black are the realms of those kindreds. For more information on these download the Lands of Darkness kindred guide.
As well as the order tokens we have a new Exult & Dismay Tokens Set at £5,500 for this project. Printed in high quality on A5 MDF boards and shrink-wrapped, these tokens are double-sided (same image front and rear) and are attached to units on the battlefield to indicate their heart statuses, among other things.
There’s sixty tokens in total and whilst that should give you all you’d need for 999 silver battles we suggest you’d be better off with a couple to cover every eventuality on the battlefield.
There will be lots more stretch goals over the course of the project, we hope, so watch out for them!

Hab da bisschen den Faden verloren, wie viele KS warten da noch auf Auslieferung?
kommt drauf an ob du die vor der etwas dubiosen Insolvenz mitzählst oder nicht…
Bei mir kam vor einer Weile unverhofft noch ein Päckchen an. Natürlich musste ich Brexitgebühren zahlen – für einen Kickstarter von Ende 2014 (das Brexit-Referendum wurde Anfang 2016 angekündigt).
Aber hey, besser als keine Minis, was aktuell für andere Kickstarter der Firma Mierce immer noch gilt (Stichprobe bei einem ergab, dass sie aktuell vertrösten).
Es gab auch bloß über ein Dutzend weiterer Miniaturen-Kickstarter seit meinem (New Kindreds), und ob ich von dem jetzt alles endlich habe oder auch nicht, ich weiß es mittlerweile einfach nicht mehr…
Der aktuelle KS enthält in den Pledges nur Produkte, die es schon gibt (Miniaturen), oder die man schon vorbestellen konnte (das neue Regelbuch war im ersten Printrun schon ausverkauft außer dem „last few“-Fomo), einzig die Stretch Goals scheinen neu (Tokens, yay).
Es gibt weiterhin im Schnitt alle zwei, drei Tage eine Mail über Sales, Verlosungen, Erinnerungen an den laufenden Sale, eine Warnung für den letzten Tag des Sale, eine Verlängerung des Sale (mit allen Stufen erneut) usw.
Ich will niemandem ausreden, bei Mierce zu bestellen oder beim KS mitzumachen (wobei ein KS final keine Verpflichtung darstellt oder diese nur schwer bis gar nicht durchzusetzen ist), aber man sollte alle Aspekte kennen, wenn man sich dafür entscheidet.
(Und da sind wir noch nicht mal bei der unrühmlichen Geschichte der Vorgängerfirma.)
Meine ersten Mierce Modelle vom letzten 50% Sale kommenn laut Tracking Morgen oder Übermorgen an. (Hat glaube ich 2 oder 3 Wochen gedauert)
Wenn mir gefällt was da ins Haus flattert, werde ich mir auf jeden Fall zwei der Starter im Kickstarter Bundle gönnen.
Die Designs sind großartig, was ich bisher über den Lore weiß spricht mich auch an und als Fan komplexer Regelwerke und Rundbases freue ich mich riesig auf das System.
Und für alle die Bedenken haben was Lieferungen und KS bei Mierce angeht schaut mal in die FB Gruppe.
Rob hat da sehr ausführlich Infos zu rausgegeben und alle alten KS-Bestellungen sind raus gegangen bevor dieser KS online gegangen ist. Ihm ist ein einziger durch die Lappen gegangen was geklärt und vom Kunden bestätigt wurde.
Genau deshalb gibt es ja keine neuen Modelle in diesem, um entsprechendes zu vermeiden und alles sauber auf die Reihe zu bekommen.
Das ist eine Transparenz die nur wenige Firmen so an den Tag legen.
Da wurde durchaus aus Fehlern der Vergangenheit gelernt.
Muss mich jetzt endlich nur mal für zwei der Starter entscheiden… 😁
