Wargames Atlantic: Preußen Preview
Wargames Atlantic zeigen was man von ihren napoleonische Preußen Box erwarten kann und was ihr Army Builder Konzept ist.
Preview: Napoleonic Prussian Reserve Army Builder Set
We teased a secret Napoleonic set along with a new kind of box – Army Builder. Now we can reveal it:
This will be our third Napoleonic set (although the second released as the Spanish needed a bit more work) and the first of the Army Builder sets. What is an Army Builder set you ask? Well, we are happy to explain!
An Army Builder is a new type of plastic set we are experimenting with. It’s designed to let you build the bulk of your forces with a minimal amount of assembly and for a great value. Instead of 30-40 models in the box, you get a whopping 60 for the same price ($34.95 / £25) but with less parts to stick together. In this case, there is also no command included and you will have to source command from another manufacturer in either metal or plastic. This gives you the flexibility to set the ratio of command to troops in your unit depending on which set of rules you play. If you want 12-man, 24-man, 36-man, or 124-man units have at it!

As you can see above the tooling is finished and these are preparing to ship out for a probable March release alongside the Lizardmen (two sets that are definitely meant to go together!?!?!)
We are excited to see what you think of this Army Builder idea and how we can use it for other subjects both for Napoleonics and other historical periods and perhaps even fantasy. Feel free to tell us your ideas and thoughts below.

TOP! Die Jungs von Wargames Atlantic überraschen mich ein ums andere Mal!
60 Modelle für knapp 30 Euro. Hätte nicht gedacht, dass das noch irgendwo möglich ist :D. Optisch finde ich die nun auch alles andere als verkehrt.
Leider fehlen für das Setting die Mitspieler im Club…
Fairerweise muss man sagen, dass da Victrix jetzt auch durchaus ähnliche Angebote in der Epoche hat. 🙂
Die Perrys kommen in der Spitze mit 48 für ca. 25 Euro daher, also, beschweren will ich mich da nicht. 😁
Stimmt schon, diese Epoche ist schon günstig 🙂 Das Argument zieht leider kaum wenn das Setting die Leute nicht reizt 😀
Es gibt einige Hersteller die gute Minis für 0,5-1€ anbieten. Neben WA, Perrys und Victrix fallen mir spontan Oathmark, Frostgrave und einiges von Mantic ein. Für 2€ pro Mini bekommt man sogar so exotische Sachen wie WWX. 😀
Trotzdem sitz ich hier neben 40 standart Infanteristen für 40k zu jeweils 6,6€, welche gerade mal 1/4 der Armee ausmachen… 😀
ps. keine Sorge, ich hab natürlich nur ~50% dafür bezahlt.
Preußische Reserve… Also, was WA auf jeden Fall schon perfektioniert hat, ist das Erkennen eklatanter Lücken im bisherigen Angebot. Während z. B. Victrix für die Epoche als nächstes – total spannend und nie gesehen – französische schwere Kavallerie bringen wird, umfasst der Plan von WA bisher drei Sets, die in der Form bisher noch keiner hat.
Und das bekommen die ja auch in anderen Settings hervorragend hin.
Die Idee, ohne Kommando zu arbeiten, ist etwas seltsam, der Gedankengang aber nachvollziehbar. Die Anzahl stimmt ja eh fast nie für den eigenen Bedarf. Gerade die Perrys sind da oft jenseits aller Realitäten.
Ich hoffe, WA entdeckt balt die Lücken bei der Österreicher Artillerie und der russischen Kavallerie… 😁
Und ich hätte auch nichts gegen so ein Set für die Iron Brigade der Union Army.
Oh ja, Iron Brigade wäre super… am besten noch mit alternativen Kepi Köppen, dann hätte man auch die Frock Coats in Plastik abgedeckt.
Und man bedenke, dass WA in der Box für die British Riflemen alle Umbauteile drin hat um Sharpe & Co darzustellen. 95th und 60th Rifles hab ich schon genug, aber ne Sharpe Box? Sowas von gekauft.
Thema Lückenschließer: Die Perrys bringen demnächst ein Plastik „dual kit“ mit Preussischer und Russischer Kavallerie. 🙂
