Games Workshop Sunday Preview – Gaunt’s Ghosts Are Back In Action 1

We’re delving into the dark corners of the Black Library next week to find a few fan favourites and pull them into the limelight once again. Not only is Colonel-Commissar Ibram Gaunt and his ragtag regiment back in a new book from Dan Abnett, but they’re also returning to tabletops with a brand new series of models for some of the most memorable characters from the series.

Black Library

Our foray into the Black Library starts with The Vincula Insurgency: Ghost Dossier 1, a new tale from the early days of the Tanith First and Only’s history. This book comes in a special mega edition boxed set, complete with a host of extras including two maps, three Imperial coins, a Tanith hat pin, a cloth patch, and more.

In the ruined border town of Vincula, the Ghosts find that something mysterious is stalking them through the streets as they try to enforce peace in a newly liberated world. Discover the dark secrets that shape the regiment and echo throughout their history.

The Tanith aren’t only returning on the page, however. Feast your eyes on the new plastic kit featuring Ibram Gaunt and five of the most well-known Ghosts from their early years.

In addition to being a great collector’s piece, they’re brilliant on the tabletop too. Stay tuned next week as we take a look at how to deploy them in your games of Warhammer 40,000.

For those who really want to delve into the background of The Sabbat Worlds Crusade, a book packed with exhaustive lore, gorgeous artwork, and more will soon be gracing your coffee tables. It’s an essential companion to the Gaunt’s Ghosts series and comes in a stylish limited edition with five commemorative coins and three art prints.

Don’t worry if you miss this opportunity to get hold of this edition of the book, however, as it’s also available for Print on Demand for two weeks. Even if yours isn’t one of the 1,500 limited edition copies, you’ll still have access to the biggest trove of Sabbat Worlds Crusade information this side of the Menazoid Clasp.

Alongside these two star players, you can also pre-order hardback and ebook versions of Sabbat War and Urdesh: The Serpent and the Saint, two stories set during the epic war, and top it off with a fetching Ibram Gaunt bookmark. All of this is arriving for pre-order on Saturday, so set your clocks and get yours before they’re gone.

Warhammer 40.000

The Tanith aren’t the only regiment seeing new goodies next week, as the Cadian Shock Troops (and the many thousands of regiments that model themselves on them) are set to receive a whole sprue of upgrades that we first saw during Warhammer Fest Online.

Blood Bowl

Meanwhile, under the loving gaze of Nuffle, a set of releases is coming for one of Blood Bowl’s more monstrous teams. A Team Card Pack, Dice Set, and Double-sided Pitch and Dugout Set is available to pre-order for Lizardmen teams from Saturday. If you coach this team, it’s a good week to add some crucial accessories to your roster.
