Dragons, Outcasts, Petite Knights, and a Cave Troll in This Massive Sunday Preview
With a beating of leathery wings, the Sunday Preview is on us once again, this week delivering a titanic payload of new releases that’s sure to have something for everyone – check out the highlights right here.
The sons of Dracothian are here at last. Then there’s Dungeon Bowl, a rabble of Necromunda Outcasts, the return of some classic Space Marine Chaplains via Made to Order, and a very special Middle-Earth game. But let’s get started with what everyone’s been waiting for…
Warhammer Age of Sigmar
Krondys and Karazai
The almighty Sons of Dracothian have returned, and have made an alliance with Sigmar himself to fight on behalf of the Stormcast Eternals. The wise Krondys battles not only with tooth and tail, but with powerful Draconith magic, while Karazai is a little less refined, preferring to let his rage overtake him until he becomes unstoppable.
These massive miniatures are not only powerful on the tabletop, but they’re phenomenal painting projects for hobbyists of all levels.
Following these two brothers are the Stormdrake Guard. Smaller than the Sons of Dracothian, these dragon-riding Stormcast still pack an almighty punch on the battlefield, especially when fielded in all-dragon armies.
They’re so mighty, in fact, that the Warhammer Studio decided to increase their points cost just a touch to ensure everyone has a fun time playing with and against them.
Made to Order Chaplains
Next weekend sees the arrival of everyone’s favourite fervent Crusaders, the Black Templars. Treating the Codex Astartes as a set of loose guidelines rather than a code, they have more Chaplains than you can shake a martyr’s tibia at, so why not stock up on these classic sculpts?
There’s a heavy whiff of nostalgia wafting around these four macabre-looking chaps, which is fitting given what’s next…
From the mists of time returns Dungeon Bowl, the subterranean cousin of Blood Bowl. Secreted somewhere in a mysterious dungeon full of chests and portals is a ball, and the Colleges of Magic settle their scores by sending teams in to dodge treacherous traps, take that ball, beat each other up, and score a touchdown.
The only things in the way are the other team, those booby-trapped chests, labyrinthine dungeons, and random portals. Simple stuff, right?
Goblin Team Accessories
Elsewhere in the wide, wild world of Blood Bowl, the Goblins have awoken a whole host of new goodies in the form of a dice set, card pack, and a double-sided pitch and dugouts set.
Get the best out of this most chaotic of teams with special play cards and a pitch that’s perfect for a spot of mid-game mushroom picking.
Underhive Outcasts Gang
Down in the damp and gloomy nooks and crannies of Necromunda, a different rabble of down-and-outs is gathering. The Underhive Outcasts Gang are here to stake their claim in the eternal war between the official Houses.
Always outgunned, but never outnumbered, these plucky underdogs have more than just territory and pride to scrap over – they’re fighting for their very survival.
Book of the Outcast
Luckily they have a whole slew of rules to help them fight smart and dirty against the superior firepower of wealthier, House-backed gangs.
This 136-page book is packed with rules for gang tactics, Hangers-on, Gang Strongholds, and Outcast scenarios, as well as a whole Outlander Campaign, and tons more. It’s the perfect tome for anyone with an affinity for the downtrodden, and it’s available in hardback and as an eBook.
Zone Mortalis: Underhive Market
Part of life for every underhive denizen is going down the market to grab the essentials – corpse-starch, bullets, spiced rats, etc – which conveniently doubles as an almighty action movie set-piece when gangers and Palanite Enforcers face off.
With this kit, you can build your very own market. It’s also compatible with existing Zone Mortalis terrain, so you can add artisanal Wild Snake pop-ups to your existing battlefields.
Underhive Outcasts Gang Tactics
Despite seeming like a disorganised rabble, Outcast gangs are still able to pull off rudimentary tactics, and often catch more experienced gangs unaware. This pack comes with handy reference cards for your Outcast gang fighters, plus 18 tricksy Outcast gang tactics.
The Lord of the Rings
