SCALECOLOR ARTIST METAL: The Heavy Body Metallic Revolution

SCALE75 returns once again to revolutionize miniature painting. After the worldwide success of our Scalecolor Artist range, the community asked for the next step. We listened to your requests and went back to the lab.

We set ourselves an impossible challenge: what would happen if we fused the pigment purity of our legendary Metal n’ Alchemy series with the consistency and properties of Scalecolor Artist?

The result is ARTIST METAL — the first Heavy Body metallic paint range designed specifically for miniature painters and artists. Forget about shaking bottles for hours and dealing with pigment separation. Welcome to the new era of metallics. The industry has been stuck with liquid metallics for years; we decided to change the physics.

We kept the best of both worlds to create the ultimate product:

1. THE PERFECT FUSION (THE FUSION)

We encapsulated the ultra-fine mica pigments from Metal n’ Alchemy within the gel medium of Scalecolor Artist. The result is an intense metallic shine with the texture of an acrylic oil paint. We didn’t simply mix pigments; our chemists developed a acrylic gel matrix. The paint is a dense gel whose molecular structure is strong enough to trap metallic particles, preventing them from sinking.

2. ZERO SEPARATION

Thanks to the density of the gel, metallic particles remain in perfect suspension. No more steel mixing balls or the frustration of shaking bottles for minutes only to get transparent paint. ARTIST METAL comes out of the tube perfectly mixed, from the first drop to the last.

3. THE END OF THE “GLITTER EFFECT”

Many acrylic metallics use coarse pigments that look like glitter on a 32mm miniature. We use the microscopic grinding process developed for our Metal n’ Alchemy range. By combining these ultra-fine pigments with the Artist gel, we achieve continuous specular reflection with a smooth matte finish. A glossy medium competes with the metal; our matte medium allows only the mica to reflect light, creating realistic contrast and avoiding the “toy-like” appearance. Perfect scale, no glitter effect.

4. METALLIC WET BLENDING (BLENDING)

For the first time, you can perform wet blending with metallics without the paint breaking apart. The extended drying time allows you to blend golds and silvers directly on the miniature with the smoothness of classical painting techniques. The gel slows drying, giving you minutes to blend colors directly on the surface.

5. EXTREME COVERAGE (OPACITY)

The high pigment concentration in paste format guarantees superior coverage. It covers black or white primers in fewer coats, saving time while preserving fine sculpted details.

6. TOTAL VERSATILITY (VERSATILITY)

Any modeling technique can be achieved with this formula:

• High-Definition Drybrushing: As a paste, you can unload the brush and apply edge highlights with total control, without staining recesses.

• Magic Filters: Thin the paint with water as much as needed; the gel structure remains stable, creating transparent metallic glazes perfect for tinting armor.

• Edge Highlighting / Fine Lines / Freehand: Thanks to its density and controlled flow, precise lines and detailed freehand work become easier than ever on any surface.

• Airbrush: Easily thinned for smooth and powerful applications.

7. TECHNICAL TRIAD SYSTEM (BSL SYSTEM)

Following our philosophy of making the artist’s workflow easier, the 36 colors in the range are organized into coherent color triads, specifically designed for the BSL technique (Base, Shadow, Light).

• Perfect Harmony: Each triad includes a base color, its natural shadow, and its maximum highlight, ensuring flawless metallic transitions.

8. TUBE FORMAT (FORMAT)

We introduce 20ml of premium paint in laminated aluminum tubes. Unlike plastic, aluminum creates a complete barrier against oxygen, keeping the paint fresh for years. It also allows you to use every last drop. This is an investment, not an expense.

The shipping costs will be calculated according to the weight of the product group and the country of destination. This will be an extra charge that will be added in the PM on the BackerKit platform after the end of the campaign. However, in order to provide some basic information to our backers, we have attached a guiding table including the shipping cost of each pledge.

Shipping costs for the rest of the products added in BackerKit or here by the client will be added to the estimated shipping cost. Therefore, it cannot be determined exactly at the moment.
