This week has been suspiciously quiet.

Not the peaceful kind of quiet where everyone is calmly working and things are running smoothly. No, this is the other kind of quiet. The kind where people are whispering in corners, boxes keep appearing on desks, and Waldo has been told, repeatedly, that he is “not allowed to open that.”

Naturally, he tried anyway.

What we can show you this week is a look at something a bit special.
Meet Nakano Takeko, Breaker of Obstacles.

This is a unique alternate sculpt created as part of an upcoming line of special event models. Nakano Takeko counts as Bill Algren, but with a brand new sculpt bringing a different look to the battlefield.

These models are being designed with Wyrd events and tournaments in mind. They will be part of prize support, event rewards, and other organized play offerings, players can enjoy first-access to items that are a touch rarer than your typical release.

Nakano Takeko will be first introduced at the upcoming AdeptiCon, where she will appear as part of the prize pool for the Tyrant Tournament.

Think tournament prize pools, event rewards, and other ways to celebrate the folks who come out to flip cards, cheat fate, and make questionable tactical decisions in public.

Nakano Takeko is just the first example, and you can expect to see more of these alternate sculpts appearing in the future.

Waldo has already started a “totally fair and legitimate” prize pool for the office, but it turns out that declaring yourself the winner before the event begins is “not how tournaments work.”

He is currently reviewing the rulebook to see if that is actually written anywhere.
