Beneath the flickering neon drizzle of the rust sector, the „Circuit Circus“ gang, with their terrifying LED-screen faces and razor-tipped fingers, cornered the small band of periphery drifters. The cowboys, clad in armored synth-leather dusters and low-slung hats that hid their ocular implants, didn’t flinch as the manic, digitized laughter echoed through the alley. The lead clown lunged, his hydraulic jaw unhinging to reveal a scorching plasma emitter, ready to incinerate the rugged defenders. In a blur of motion, the cowboy leader drew his massive, custom-tooled rail revolver and fired a single, thunderous shot that shattered the clown’s central processing unit. As the metallic jester collapsed in a shower of sparks and hydraulic fluid, the remaining clowns scrambled back into the data-shadows, learning too late that the law of the open wasteland still governed the city’s edge.
