The Butcher returns: read Night of the Hunter now
Warmachine: Orsus the Betrayed

Wm July30 03

The Old Ways: Chapter 3 – Night of the Hunter is now live in the Warmachine app, and Orsus Zoktavir finds himself on a path thick with memory, rage, and something far more dangerous — hesitation.

As the Orgoth tighten their grip and old loyalties fray, the Butcher is tested in ways even he didn’t expect.

Once a war-driven monster, now in the service of darker masters, Orsus faces a moment of hesitation — carrying a child instead of slaying him. Through blood-soaked memory and twisted loyalty, the Butcher is confronted with choices that echo far beyond the battlefield.

Over the years, Orsus had grown accustomed to the idea that he would sometimes behave unexpectedly, unpredictably. Even these events tended to follow a familiar pattern, however—a red mist descending, and when next he came to his senses, he was standing alone in an ocean of blood and bodies.

Taking the child had not been the mission. He had been sent to slay Vlad Tzepesci’s heir, not return with him, especially after losing three warjacks and most of his troops in the process.

Orsus knew enough of the Orgoth to know that they had little patience for disobedience, for failure, and that their reprimands were swift and severe. Another man might not have returned at all, but Orsus had left fear behind him long ago. What drove him now was similar to the impulse that had spurred him to trigger the trap back in the clearing: He was fascinated rather than disturbed by the unexpectedness of his own actions, and he wanted to see where they would take him.

What had stayed his hand? He had slain children before, when the red rage came over him, and theirs had always been the deaths that haunted him the most. He had never killed a child in cold blood, however. When the Orgoth sent him on this mission, he had wondered if he had changed enough as a man to do so now—and it turned out that he hadn’t. The child’s courage had surprised and impressed him, and that was part of it. He was reminded of the boy in his memory, large and strong but terrified, as he tried to stand between the Tharn and his family. Had that boy been himself? He no longer knew, and it didn’t matter. That had been part of it, but not all.

Another memory was there, too. Not as clear as the one of the fire and the cellar, the blood and the monsters, but no less red, no less haunting.

That memory was filled with shadows, lit by flickering tongues of fire. This one took place in daylight that was too bright, too clear, too sharp. It hurt his eyes, seemed to pierce his brain.

He was fighting monsters again. Demons. Nightmares. Intrusions from another place, things that had no business being in this world at all. He was fighting to defend the empress, and, in the fragmented landscape of his memories, she was betraying him at the same time, chaining the howling axe to his wrist and banishing him into the wilderness.

Subscribe today to read the full chapter — and read every part of The Old Ways in the Warmachine app.

Don’t forget, subscribing annually to the Warmachine app gets you the monstrous Exulon Nostilla & The Aberration at no extra cost.

We’re not saying it’s August already, but your 3D printer just flinched

Wm July30 04

The next Warmachine 3D preview is almost here — and if your printers have been behaving suspiciously quiet lately, they know what’s coming. Here’s a sneak peek at August’s Warcaster coming to both tiers, Extreme Kapitan Maksim Azlanov captured in a heroic pose with blade held aloft and cloak whipping in the wind.

Also making their way onto your print bed this month? Towering noble ruins from Old Umbrey, and unfortunate souls, their limbs replaced with cruel implements — reshaped for war by hands not their own.

We’ll be revealing the whole August Warmachine 3D lineup this Thursday, so keep your eyes peeled and your supports ready. If July was anything to go by, August’s batch is going to hit the table (and your resin supply) hard.

Exciting news! Not only are the subscriber codes to redeem Exulon Nostilla and the Aberration now available, but you can get them directly in the app!

As part of improving your app experience and increasing what the app can do for you, we’ve been working behind the scenes on new functionality that lets you receive codes right in the app. If you’re an annual subscriber, here’s how to get your code and claim your free models:

  1. Open the Warmachine app on the platform where you subscribed.
  2. Tap the menu (☰) and select “Claim Annual Subscriber Gift.”
  3. Copy the unique code provided.
  4. Visit the link to the Exulon Nostilla & The Aberration page (please note your code will only work with this specific product added to basket).
  5. 🛑 Important: This page is for app code redemption only. Orders without a valid code may be cancelled or refunded.
  6. Add the item to your basket, apply your code at checkout, and enjoy!

To redeem your code, make sure you’ve added the app-subscriber version of Exulon Nostilla & The Aberration to your basket — the code won’t work on the standard listing.

Already redeemed your code on the original product page? No worries — your order’s all set and will ship as normal.

This is a new feature, so although it’s been tested, there are thousands of you and less of us — so if you spot any bugs, please let us know. Otherwise, we’re super excited to be rolling out features like these (however small!) that help the app function as an even more useful tool for our community.

Not subscribed yet? You can still buy the model outright — but since it’s the same price as an annual app sub, most commanders are grabbing the subscription and getting the model, plus a rich lore library and unlimited list building, all in one tidy package.

A legend reborn: MiniCrate’s Kishtaar the Conqueror

Wm July30 11

This month’s MiniCrate exclusive is a vision from a darker age. Introducing Kishtaar the Conqueror — an alternate sculpt of Kishtaar, the Howling Silence.

But this isn’t the calculating raider we know. This is the ancient warlord, the original Orgoth conqueror from a thousand years ago, returned in a form that drips menace and majesty.

Her look is a nod to the earliest Orgoth legends: brass faces leering from her armour, twin horns twisting from her helm, and a mane of hair weighted with metal beads and rings. Kishtaar is adorned like a true Orgoth warlord through and through.

This is a limited-edition model, and one every Orgoth collector will want in their ranks. And if you’ve got the Orgoth Sea Raiders Battlegroup Box, she’s a killer sculpt to show off amongst your Tyrant & Jackal warjacks.

Raid the shores in style, Subscribe to MiniCrate between July 28 – August 28 to claim the lands in the name of Kishtaar.

Kommt da überhaupt nochmal was verständliches bei rüber? Andere Fraktionen. Eine gefüllte Welt?

Ich verstehe immer nur Bahnhof xD

    • Was ist Casterwürfeln? 😀

    • Ach so meinst du da 😉
