A new hunt begins — Kishtaar hunts new prey.
This week’s lore drop, The Hunt, takes us into the scorched ruins of Ord where Kishtaar, ruthless warcaster of the Orgoth Sea Raiders, is on the prowl. What begins as a hunt through ash and silence turns into a clash of predators, as she locks onto a foe worthy of her attention.
“…A whisper caught Kishtaar’s attention, an urgent echo carried over bare stone. She paused, all motion ceasing and her body now utterly still. The world shrank down to her beating heart as Kishtaar closed her eyes to concentrate, waiting for another murmur.
The next sound came a handful of heartbeats later.
A low groan. Above, through a shattered window on the second floor of the building to the right.
She wasted no further moment or movement in response. Her feet padded soundlessly over the cobbles and then aided her hands as she quickly climbed up the side of the building, the hooks in her gauntlets providing leverage where handholds were absent. Within moments, she had reached the opening and carefully snatched a glance through the jagged shards of glass.
A bare room, sparsely decorated and with bare floorboards. A soldier lay atop them, wearing the teal unform of Ord’s Crucible Guard. Crimson stained his shirt to a muddy hue. His eyes were closed and his body still but for a tremble that shook his jaw, and his lips were white where pain drew them tight; his teeth gnawed at chapped skin. A second soldier knelt at his side and held his hand in hers. Her eyes betrayed her concern as much as her body language as she leaned over him.
These two were weak and presented little challenge. But they were prey, nonetheless—and the hunger of Kishtaar’s Fellgoeth masters was endless.”
