Heroes & Villains: Kapitan Galina Lissya
Umbrey’s most cunning sniper just got her moment in the spotlight.
This week, Kapitan Galina Lissya takes to the Heroes & Villains section of the Warmachine app. Armed with a rifle and a mission, there’s no target she can’t track — or take down. If you’re running Old Umbrey, this one’s a must-read.
“A shot rings out. A body falls. The presence of the hunter is only betrayed by her bloody work and a faint whisp of lingering smoke. The Winter Fox is a vengeful ghost that haunts the forests of Umbrey. Moving unseen beneath the canopy, she coldly eliminates those who would do harm to Khador before vanishing once more into the dense foliage, leaving no signs of her passing.
Recruited by the forces of Old Umbrey, she lends her talents as both a sniper and a warlock to protect her homeland. Patient and unrelenting, she is an exceptional tracker who will harry her prey until they no longer draw breath, leaving her enemies with the impression they’re being terrorized by nothing less than a wrathful spirit as they’re picked off one by one.”

Rule the Umbrean borderlands with Kovoskiy & Vilkul
Fans of Khador’s wild side, rejoice! Kapitan Yana Kovoskiy and Kapitan Zahara Vilkul of SKS-6 already formidable characters in Winter Korps, now have updated rules for playing them in Old Umbrey armies.
Yana Kovoskiy now brings a few key enhancements to both her Winter Korps and Old Umbrey versions.
She’s gained the Gunfighter advantage, giving her added engagement flexibility. Her spell list also sees a shift, with Battle Lust replaced by Fury’s Strength, a powerful spell that supports her in both playable armies.
Perhaps most significantly, her Path of Destruction feat now benefits all friendly faction models — not just living ones — expanding her potential synergy with the broader forces of Old Umbrey.
Developer Thoughts:
Yana needed to be redeveloped slightly in order to work within Old Umbrey. She has been re-tested alongside the new army. Unfortunately she was unable to retain Battle Lust due to its powerful interactions within Old Umbrey. However, Fury’s Strength is a useful spell that has uses for both Old Umbrey and Winter Korps.
A nice new feature I particularly like is being able to use Koldun Lord Damien Korovnik to cast Fury’s Strength via Spell Slave, onto Yana herself!
Being totally honest, it has always bothered me a little that Path of Destruction didn’t work as well on her warjacks, particularly when she already wants to play with a large battlegroup thanks to Conferred Rage. Now they gain the full benefits of her feat too! — Jamie Perkins – Senior Product Owner
Kapitan Zahara Vilkul has undergone a more dramatic transformation — one that truly embraces her new role in Old Umbrey. Reimagined as a solo model rather than a leader, Vilkul’s stat line and health have been rebalanced to suit her new classification.
She now costs 20 points, and while she’s lost some abilities like Field Marshal [Prowl], Take Down, and Rise, she’s gained new ones more fitting her current status. Most notably, she is now a Journeyman Warcaster, with Limited Battlegroup [Razor] and access to the Prowl ability.
Her Mechanika Axe no longer benefits from Weapon Master, and her previous feat and spell rack have been removed. Instead, she now brings a new spell loadout featuring Avenging Force and Burning Ash, replacing Cold Front and Cyclone.
Razor, Vilkul’s trusted warjack, has also been updated for Old Umbrey.
Now officially a Companion to Kapitan Zahara Vilkul, Razor no longer has a points cost and benefits from Prowl, enhancing its ability to remain concealed in the wild terrain of Umbrey.
Developer Thoughts:
Converting a full leader model to a Journeyman Warcaster has been a super fun and exciting process. Seeing Vilkul and Razor unleashed in an Old Umbrey force is going to be fantastic!
Remember, because they’re friendly faction to Old Umbrey, Vilkul and Razor benefit from all the faction-specific buffs Old Umbrey can pour onto them! There’s some particularly spicy ones still to come, too! — Jamie Perkins – Senior Product Owner
These changes reflect their ties to the hidden wars playing out in the Umbrean borderlands — and open up new tactical options for commanders looking to tap into Zevanna Agha’s wild forces.
You’ll find all the updated cards and rules now live in the Warmachine app.

New MiniCrate: Successful Experiment
Alchemy, as it turns out, is more of an art than a science—and the Crucible Guard have always been happy to blur the line.
This month’s Minicrate miniature is a twisted triumph of transformation: Successful Experiment, a new alternate sculpt riffing on the disturbingly beefy Failed Experiment unit.
It’s also a showcase of just how close „progress“ and „monstrosity“ can really be. Want one? Subscribe to MiniCrate by June 27 to secure your specimen — and get a new exclusive model each month.

More strong women for the Motherland!!
