The beginnings of the UCM were bathed in fire and blood. The alien Scourge attack on Earth and the Cradle Worlds left humanity reeling. What was left of the fleet fled to the Colony Worlds to lick
their wounds for 150 years. In the colonies life is bleak and hard, but relatively safe from invasion. Humankind toiled for that time, building a brand new army and a new fleet with emerging technology.

In this militaristic state, the United Colonies of Mankind was born. Gone were the lavish ways of old Earth, replaced by frugality and utilitarianism. Their fleet reflected their existence, as simple, mass-produced ships that accomplish their goals with little pomp or ceremony. Entire armadas leave the shipyards on an almost daily basis, grinding the war machine every forward to take the fight to the Scourge and any others that might get in their way.

This box contains an entire UCM Battlefleet, with (almost) everything you’ll need to raise a fleet for your games of Dropfleet Commander. This set contains plastic ships, which provide a solid core for your fleet and some more advanced ships to fill particular roles. Add just a Quick Start Rulebook and a set of dice, and you’ll have everything you need for your new fleet.

The plastic Cruisers and Frigates can be assembled in dozens of ways, each with a very specific place in the fleet. From the up-armed Cobra Heavy Lasers of the St Petersburg Heavy Cruisers, all the way down to the troop landing capacity of the New Orleans Strike Carrier.

The Bioficers are ancient, corrupted artificial intelligences. Biology is their clay. They can vaporise it, ingest it, and shape it. Their bio-drones are woven in minutes and are disposable, built for specific tasks, and might be any shape that nightmares can conjure. Their ships are uniquely advanced, focused, and utterly lethal. They have no grand strategy and no goal besides revelling in war and the slow suffering of capable prey. They are a factor apart and may be the greatest threat sentient life has ever faced.

Bioficer fleets are system-level threats eager to teach whole populations the
meaning of terror. They emerge without warning from their own unique means of faster-than-light travel, form up, and unleash hell. Boarding actions are dreaded beyond those of any other foe. Lightning raids and pinpoint annihilations are their favoured tactics, but colonial planners fear the potential of invasion fleets lurking in the void, ready to end human progress forever.

The Resistance are not a unified race, nor a polished military force. They are the remnants—forgotten colonists, exiled crews, and survivors of worlds left to burn. What they lack in standardisation, they make up for in sheer tenacity. Their ships are a patchwork of old Earth tech, scavenged alien systems, and battlefield improvisation, held together by grit and desperation. These vessels shouldn’t fly, let alone fight—but they do, and they hit hard.

Unlike the sleek fleets of the UCM or the enigmatic Shaltari, Resistance battlefleets are unpredictable. Their tactics are unorthodox, their formations chaotic, and their captains ruthless. They strike from hidden orbits, ambush with brutal efficiency, and vanish before retaliation can begin. Armour is thick, weapons are crude but devastating, and their crews fight like they have nothing left to lose.

A full year before the Scourge invasion, an alien artefact known as the White Sphere crashed to Earth. An artificial intelligence beyond any witnessed before, it quickly took over control of the planet’s
communications, sending out a message to every person. It warned of a calamity from space, and encouraged humanity to flee, giving themselves to the White Sphere in exchange for technology they could only dream of, technology enough to save them.

Literal days before the alien Scourge devastated humankind, those who heeded the White Sphere’s warning left Earth. Firing on their pursuers, the Abandonists jumped away into unknown space, following the AI’s directions. This act of rebellion forever tarnished them among those who remained.

150 years after their retreat, the Abandonists returned, changed beyond measure. Now known as the Post-Human Republic, they appeared with vastly superior technology, and a symbiotic relationship with their machines, protected in thick gleaming armour, and toting massive broadsides on their fleet.

A parasitic race, the Scourge arrived on Earth 150 years ago. They hit humanity’s home and the Cradle Worlds hard, destroying or enslaving billions of souls within mere hours of planetfall. One lone Scourge is an unformidable opponent, existing as a mass of tar-like black tendrils, barely able to lift its own weight. However, they insert themselves into living creatures and their grown vehicles alike, their limbs stretching out to cover every nerve, fully taking control of their host.

The Scourge fleet is made up of such creatures, part living, and part machine. Yet these massive starships are too big for a single creature to control alone; the walls run thick with the sinewy nervous systems, interlocking and working together.

The Scourge took over the majority of humankind with extreme speed, and live to enslave any creature that crosses their paths. Either that or they bombard them with devastating plasma weaponry until whatever is left concedes victory to their future masters.

Shaltari Battlefleet **PRE-ORDER 12th December** – £100.00

The alien Shaltari are a race unlike any encountered by humankind. Though short in stature, they are wise beyond anything known. Their technology is so far advanced to be almost indistinguishable from magic, utilising teleportation, gravitic distortion, and even the ability to bypass death.

It is this last detail that is most curious to the United Colonies of Mankind. The Shaltari are able to pass their consciousness into a another body, grown specially for the purpose. They are essentially immortal, provided their warlike nature doesn’t kill them first. For the Shaltari a species of duality, where sometimes serene and intelligent beyond measure, they can turn into war hungry creatures, desperate to prove their martial prowess.

In void combat their fleets are equally hard to predict. While they have little need for primitive armour, they protect themselves through energy shields and incredible manoeuvrability. To fall into a Shaltari trap is common – and due to their weapons of immense power – deadly.

North Swole *CHRISTMAS EXCLUSIVE* – £40.00

Leading the North Swole is Father Liftmas himself, Ol’ Thicc Nick, and he’s checking his naughty list. The happy and jolly Abdominal Snowman is built from the snow, the most shredded frosty around. The Gingershread man is a Christmas cookie that is baked different.

The Gainzdeer is a one-deer-pulling crew who will guide your whey. Squatting the heaviest toys is the Barbelf, who’s always ready to flex some wrapping skills. Lighting up the ring with Liftmas cheer is the Fitness Tree; it’s always in question whether these festive fighters are sprucing.

All those wrapped presents make the Barbelfs excellent grapplers and they can show their fellow wrestlers how to get those crisp lines and add another Copper to their attack. The Gingershred Man may look brittle on the surface, but he can get fixed over and over again, watch those turnbuckles though, one slip up and he could lose those gumdrop buttons.

The Gainzdeer train all year, and this makes them some of the strongest wrestlers, shown best through the Swollar Express, a rope attack that does base 3 Damage. Abdominal snowman will give your opponent chills with his Frosty Facelock, dishing out a -AP token. Then to finish them off he can drop the Avalanche, a Turnbuckle ability with massive damage. O’Fitness Tree brings great durability to the team with a high defense and reduction of damage by 1, plus any wrestler that does deal damage should watch out for those Pine needles.

Finally leading it all is the big man himself, Ol‘ Thicc Nick. Sporting an excellent stat line and even better moves, such as Merry Liftmas, a Grapple with Lifted, putting the enemy right in throwing distance. At the start of the round, he can put someone on his naughty list, giving Fury to all attacks.

His bargain of No Lift No Gift stops lift actions from being dirty and makes them far easier to succeed, this all helps to get those naughty listers out of the ring.

Ebenezer Huge *CHRISTMAS EXCLUSIVE* – £12.00

For years, Ebenezer lifted, but he was clearly not gifted. Despite his dedication, his muscles refused to grow, his gut hung low, and not a single vein would show. One fateful night, he was visited by the Ghosts of Liftmas, spirits legendary for their infamous gains. They bestowed upon him a perfect comprehension of the squat, the deadlift, and the bench press. They imbued him with dark gifts to finally power his lifts, but all this unearned strength came at a cost. The dark power corrupted him, turning him bitter and sour.

Swolar Bear *CHRISTMAS EXCLUSIVE* – £12.00

Meet Snowball “The Swolar Bear”, the formidable Head of Security at Nick’s Grotto Gym. As gym legend has it, Snowball was the very first member and was personally trained by Nick himself. A word to the wise: you don’t mess with Snowball unless you want to meet the claws. Don’t be fooled by his tendency to doze on duty—it’s just a ruse to catch unsuspecting weight droppers. He is known to stir at the slightest sound.

Robin Readbreast *CHRISTMAS EXCLUSIVE* – £9.00

Before wrestling, Redbreast was a powerlifter. His massive chest made him a bench press legend, allowing him to shatter every record for Robins. Bored with no competition left, he retired from lifting and turned to wrestling for his next great challenge.

Baubrawlers *CHRISTMAS EXCLUSIVE* – £10.00

Deck and Holly never wanted to sit on the tree and always caused more mischief in the groto than any other decorations. One day Ol‘ Thick Nick had enough of their antics and threw them into the wrestling ring to work off some energy. It turns out they had a natural flair for wrestling and have done so ever since.

Clara Cracker *CHRISTMAS EXCLUSIVE* – £9.00

Clara Cracker is one of the last veterans of the Chestnut Wars. She fought to overthrow the Mouse King, who ruled with an iron fist. Many Nutcrackers were broken in that war; few remain, and even fewer remember. The famous Nutcracker story is based on these events, but it’s a sugar-coated adaptation. It doesn’t capture the true horror of those times.
