The Art of…: Kickstarter endet heute
Der Kickstarter zu den neuen Büchern der „The Art of…“ Reihe endet heute.
Und darum geht es:
THE ART OF…
These books are both a celebration of the artist and their art, as well as an opportunity for them to present their thoughts and let the world know why they approach their art the way they do. They are not “How To” books, but may include some tutorials and techniques. These books are not formulaic; they follow the path determined by each artist to best showcase their unique outlook on their art.
We successfully launched the series in 2021 and have already released 12 hardback volumes. Volumes 13, 14, and 15 shine the spotlight on the work of Vincent Venturella, Tim Marsh, and Natalia Oracz. Previous volumes feature the outsanding work of the Miniature Monthly team, Christof Keil, Ana Polanscak, Chris Suhre, Tommie Soule, Seyni N’diaye, Erik Swinson, Bjarni Dali, Katarzyna Górska, Roman Lappat, Sam Lenz, and Josua Lai!
We plan on adding three books each year for the foreseeable future. Each book is between 96- and 144-pages and sells for between $42-50.

Volume 13 – THE ART OF… Vincent Venturella
Vincent Venturella, from the US, has been painting for decades and his approaches to miniatures range from speed-painting armies to refined pieces for box art. For the last ten years or so, he has been chronicling his knowledge on weekly YouTube videos and Patreon posts, passing on the experience from his long and winding journey. While Vincent’s work is spectacular, it is his passion for helping painters build a strong foundation that is perhaps the most impressive thing.
Volume 13 will include:
- What it takes to paint armies! – Painting armies can seem overwhelming at times, unless you can adjust your mindset.
• Teaching and the value of experience – Vincent has spent many hours passing on his knowledge because he genuinely loves to see these ideas click with his students.
• Display Painting – Bringing the things you have learned together to keep pushing yourself forward.
Volume 14 – THE ART OF… Tim Marsh
Tim Marsh, the UK and Spain, has been drawing and painting for many years and has, in recent years, had the opportunity to focus on a business of painting, vending at shows with Journeyman Miniatures, and providing coaching to students across the globe. His distinct, textural style is truly wonderful to behold.
Volume 14 will Include:
- Volumes, Colour, and Light – How do these three major elements work together to create a distinctive look?
• Before the paint is applied – How does Tim approach a model before he even picks up his brush?
• Who are the 2D painters that inspire Tim? – Traditional canvas painting can provide a great deal of inspiration, and Tim talks about how he translates the 2D concepts of his favourite artists to each of his 3D pieces.
Volume 15 – THE ART OF… Natalia Oracz
Natalia Oracz, from Poland, has stormed into the miniature painting scene with her bold use of color and her stunning use of ephemeral light sources and finely detailed textures. Whilst her style differs from those of Vincent and Tim, Natalia certainly shares their passion for sharing her knowledge with students around the world.
Volume 15 will include:
- Imagination, inspiration, and references – Imagination and inspiration are important when creating art, but many often neglect the importance of reference material to help you render things realistically.
• Blending – Natalia presents her process for those smooth (or textured) blends.
• Moving beyond painting – We often find that miniatures artists can feel a bit restricted by the „canvases“ they can find. What happens when you want to take things further?

NOTE: Although the pledge levels say that we will ship anywhere in the world, our shipping partners are unlikely to ship into active war zones or to certain countries for various, fluid reasons, so this may change. Should it be the case that we become unable to ship to you, we will refund your pledge.
Additionally, there are many tariffs being thrown around at the moment by the US Government, and we are hoping that their impact will be minimal. Although Dave Taylor Miniatures is based in the US, our books are printed in Lithuania, in the EU. At the time of this campaign, this should mean that only those books coming into the US for fulfillment (US and the Americas) might be impacted. Should things change, I’ll be sure to update everyone in the Updates.
