The Clone Trooper Infantry form the backbone of any Galactic Republic army. To set them apart from their peers in other factions, the Clone Trooper Infantry sport a natural Courage value of 2, keeping them markedly cool under fire. The Reliable 1 keyword grants them a Surge token every Round, allowing them to boost either their offense or their defense as the situation demands. The simplicity of their Unit Card betrays a dizzying amount of depth contained within both their Upgrade Cards, to follow, and their unique unit type: the Clone Trooper. Clone Trooper units can share Aim, Dodge, and Surge tokens with other nearby Clone Trooper units, meaning their tokens – whether generated from Reliable 1 or with Aim and Dodge actions – rarely go to waste, as there is always another clone nearby to spend it! This unit type is found on units throughout the faction, allowing an impressive degree of synergy between Commander, Corps, Special Forces, and Support units!

The Clone Trooper Infantry are easily the most customisable Corps units in Star Wars: Legion, and this is first evident when presented with their four different Heavy Weapon Upgrade Card options! Each weapon allows the clones to serve a different role on the battlefield, and several are shared with the Clone Trooper Marksmen for even more unique applications. The Z-6 Clone Trooper wields a heavy blaster with a high rate of fire; its 6 white attack dice are not particularly accurate, but can be made quite reliable with Aim and Surge tokens shared to the unit! The DP-23 Clone Trooper is adept at close-range firefights, its Pierce 1 keyword bringing unparalleled firepower to Clone Trooper units fighting at Range 2, or closer! For longer-range engagements, the RPS-6 Clone Trooper can provide the Clone Trooper Infantry with an anti-Armor option via Impact 2. Finally, the Mortar Clone Trooper provides Critical 1 and Suppressive for attacking enemy Troopers at equally distant Ranges, to cover the approach of your other units from relative safety.

Rounding out this unit expansion are some reliable, standby Personnel Upgrade Cards. The Clone Trooper Infantry Upgrade Card allows you to bolster the unit with another miniature, to better protect your investment after adding a Heavy or Squad Leader upgrade. The Clone Trooper Infantry Squad is a major investment that transforms your Clone Troopers into one of the sturdiest and most powerful Corps units in Star Wars: Legion, able to take untold punishment from your foes and return it in kind. The Clone Trooper Infantry can be customized even further using Upgrade Cards found in the Galactic Republic Card Pack: the Squad Leader icon on their upgrade bar is a gateway to a host of unique and powerful Galactic Republic Upgrade Cards.
