Shroudfall: Silver Line Phalanx
Die Silver Line bekommt eine neue Einheit.
Phalanx (Silver Line) – € 32,90
The Silver Line Phalanx is an unbreakable wall of steel and resolve, a testament to the power of unity in battle. Clad in thick, gleaming plate armor and bearing towering shields that interlock with seamless precision, they are an immovable force once their formation is set. Enemies who charge their line find themselves halted, their momentum shattered against an unyielding bulwark. The Phalanx does not falter under withering fire; their shields create an impervious barrier that shelters allies behind them, turning aside arrows and bullets.
But the Phalanx is not merely a passive defense; they are the anvil upon which enemies are broken. Each warrior wields a shock hammer, a weapon designed not just for devastation but for control. A single swing releases a concussive burst, disrupting enemy formations and sending foes stumbling, unable to regain their footing before the next crushing blow lands. This synergy of impenetrable defense and staggering offense makes the Phalanx more than just a shield wall – it is a living fortress, advancing inexorably across the battlefield. With each measured step, they grind their opposition down, ensuring that once they take the field, victory is only a matter of time.

Enter the Shroud: Silver Line Phalanx
The cliffs of Embercrag trembled, not from thunder, but from the drumbeat of war.
Captain Veyla stood at the slope’s edge, boots rooted in fractured stone. Just three of them: herself and two comrades, between the oncoming shadow and a convoy of wounded, miners, and engineers gripped by raw fear. No walls. No artillery. Only shields. Only resolve.
At her command, the sigils etched into her armour flared to life. Arcane energy surged across her frame, sealing plate in glimmering layers of Essence-forged reinforcement. Her two comrades followed suit, armor brightening like stars behind smoke. Flesh and steel became something more. Not soldiers – bulwarks.
Just a breath later, a Spinebreaker Brute burst from the haze, claws carving deep into stone. Behind it came the rest of the Veil, Deathspitter Brutes with guns already roaring, and Goreclaws thundering forward with bone-crushing momentum.
The first wave hit like a storm. Bullets shrieked across the pass, shattering against their shields. Then the Spinebreaker struck, pure fury and mass. Veyla met it head-on. Her shield cracked, but held. Her hammer landed true, and the beast staggered.
The line held.
They moved as one, three anchors in a flood. Her comrade to the left dropped, absorbing a volley meant for civilians. The right surged forward, hammering a Goreclaw into the dirt. Still they stood. Still they shielded.
Then above, a horn. Rifles cracked. Reinforcements.
The Veil faltered. Then broke.
And when silence returned, Embercrag stood. The people still lived. Where an army had failed, the Phalanx stood, battered, scorched, but unbroken.
The line had held. Embercrag endured.
The Phalanx on the Tabletop
In the disciplined ranks of the Silver Line, Phalanx units stand out as the embodiment of resilience and battlefield control. With a base Armor of 7, they’re already among the most durable infantry in Shroudfall. But once they activate their Essence ability „Arcane Reinforcement“, their armour become truly exceptional. When „Arcane Reinforcement“ is activated, they reach an armour value (ARM) of 9, the highest ARM in the game. They become a nightmare to remove, capable of anchoring any frontline and absorbing enormous punishment.
Their reactive Essence ability „Intercept“ further improves their defensive importance against armies with a strong ranged presence, enabling them to intercept ranged attacks intended for your more offensive units.
While Phalanx units aren’t designed as primary damage dealers, their offense shouldn’t be underestimated. They strike accurately and can handle medium-armored enemies with consistency. More importantly, they bring powerful control tools to the table. Their „Essence Discharge“ ability applies the „Stunned“ condition, disrupting enemy activations and plans. Meanwhile, their standard melee attack can inflict the „Shocked“ condition on a critical hit, further limiting your opponent’s options.
Synergy Spotlight: Count Wealton Adamant, the Third
Phalanx units are tough, but they can still be disrupted or displaced, which limits their scenario presence. One of the best Essence Weavers to support them is Count Wealton Adamant, the Third:
- With his active essence ability „Inspiring Presence“ he automatically infuses their melee hit rolls, which also increases their critical hit chance
- With his active essence ability „Hold the Line“ he can make them immune to push effects for a round, neutralizing one of their key weaknesses.
- Lastly and most importantly, his Order „Defend the Rations“, grants them „Claim Ground (2)“, letting each Phalanx count as two models for control scenarios.
The Phalanx are a tactical anchor for the Silver Line. When paired with the right support, they become central to scenario control and battlefield dominance. If you’re looking to build a Silver Line force that can weather any storm and control the board, the Phalanx deserve a place at its core.
