Scibor Monstrous Miniatures: STL-Kickstarter
Scibors erster großer STL-Kickstarter ist jetzt live.
Hand sculpted figures turned into STL
Sculpted in clay figures of Scibor Teleszynski – scanned and prepared to 3D print 🙂 54mm / 75mm / 100mm
I am a sculptor and conceptual artist. For 20 years I have been designing figurines and sculpting figurines for the company I co-found with my wife
The Project
I really enjoy sculpting in clay (plasticine) on a larger scale. Working big allows me to sculpt directly with my fingers, and that’s when I feel the material best. Unfortunately, I rarely make casts of large clay figures — the cost of making molds is high, and the casts themselves are heavy and fragile.
Although I’m not a fan of technology, electronic gadgets, or working on a computer, this time I let myself be convinced. The idea that my large clay sculptures could be turned into digital files and miniaturized persuaded me to learn 3D scanning.
This project has been full of new experiences and challenges for me, but when I hold my sculptures reduced to 28, 54, or 75 mm in my hands, I know it was worth spending the time on meticulous scanning and test printing. I even feel tempted to finally paint some of these miniatures myself 🙂
All the photos of test prints you see here are tests. I will still refine the final models and, I hope, add proper bases. The STL files that supporters will receive will allow printing in sizes ranging from 28 mm to about 75–100 mm — that’s the scale I’ve printed so far.
I invite you all to join the project 🙂
Thank you for your support,
Scibor Teleszynski

Early test prints
Please remember that test prints are not final. The size may not be perfectly chosen. I’ll be re-scanning some of the figures because I could do it better now 🙂
