Rebel Trash: Angry, Armed, Alien Swine
A skirmish wargame two-player starter set from Scablands Press.
What is this?
Rebel Trash is a skirmish wargame of angry, armed, alien swine. Two players take command of enemy work crews battling, landing pad by landing pad, on a once-prosperous, now-decrepit space port on a far-flung planet. Alex Huntley, the genius behind Warp Miniatures, has crafted eight detailed digital sculpts for the game. Slade Stolar, the dimensional anomaly that spawned Scablands Press, is creating a lightweight living rules document. We want to bring this game to you in a two-player starter box.
ou can check out the game right now: The Living Rules Text is available here!
What’s so great about Rebel Trash? Well…
This game will have…
- Eight new and unusual mutant humanoid pig miniatures!
- Short games – play in as little as 40 minutes!
- A post-battle sequence that gives your crewmates traumas and treasures!
- Quick-to-grasp rules that are free for all to view on the web!
We want to bring this game to you in a two-player starter set which you could split with a friend, or paint them all up as a single, over-staffed crew.
The two-player starter box will contain…
- Eight expertly crafted miniatures, cast in resin
- Eight 25-mm circular MDF bases
- Ten d8 dice, five in black and five in white
- Cardboard tokens for smoke, fire, and sneaking/bleeding status
If we blaze past our initial goal to $2000, we’ll throw in
- A weapons cache objective marker
- An upgrade to sculpted tokens for fire and smoke
If we continue to blaze past our initial goal to $2500, we’ll throw in
- A cargo hold terrain piece
- Some more cool stuff!
The minis!
The models for Rebel Trash were sculpted by the inimitable Alex Huntley of Warp Miniatures. Working with Alex has been a dream come true. His sculpts are some of the most characterful and memorable of any sculptor working today.
We knew we needed these to be painted up to a high standard as soon as possible, so we called upon Skits.
Models painted by Skits (SkitsMix Creations).
We love this magenta and earthy style, but, you can paint your crew in any colour combinations you like!
The rules!
We’re very much of the opinion that the complexity of a game should arise at the table, not within the pages of the rulebook. This ruleset is designed to be easy-to-grasp and modular. The rules are, so much as possible, self-contained and have few exceptions. You won’t be re-rolling (upon re-rolling… upon re-rolling) to find out that nothing happens in Rebel Trash.
Alternately activated models can take two actions from a short list. Your leader differentiates your crew by providing special bonuses and issuing orders, even to models that have already activated.
Want to try a new playstyle? Simply swap out your leader, and keep the rest of your crew the same!
Play the game in several modes: one-off streetfight, linked campaign across multiple landing pads, or escalation league for total control of Spaceport 7!
You can check more details of the rules here.
