Welcome to „The Price of Crowns – The Grand Duchy of Baden“!
I’ve wanted to sculpt miniatures for the Grand Duchy of Baden for ages, actually ever since I first read ‚With Eagles to Glory‘ by John H. Gill.
Especially the Baden light dragoons were indispensable in the Danube campaign, proving to be an enormously successful weapon in the hands of the Emperor and fighting in many of the war’s most important battles.
Elector Karl Friedrich was one of the first to join the Confederation of the Rhine in 1806, thereby becoming a Grand Duke. Alongside major expansions of the nation, Baden, however, also had to provide a large number of soldiers, which meant an enormous sacrifice in men and great financial burdens for the young Duchy.
And sacrifices they certainly made: Be it in Prussia, Spain, Austria, Tyrol or Russia, Baden soldiers gave their lives all across Europe for Napoleon.
With over 100 brand-new miniatures, you’ll be able to field the entire Baden army in all its glory.
A huge thank you once again to Stephan Huber from Stephan Huber Miniature Painting for his amazing painting work on the figures, and also to my casters Ulrike and Jörg from Schilling-Figuren for their hard work and effort.
Why Kickstarter?
This campaign finances the production of the figures in metal (master prints, moulds, casting etc.). The production costs are still relatively high for my small company, especially for that number of figures! That’s why I am using Kickstarter for this, which minimises the losses should the campaign not be successful.

I really hope you like the new sets! After such a long time of sculpting and painting, I am incredibly happy to finally show you all the new miniatures.

Regarding Shipping:
As we all know, shipping has become increasingly difficult. Nevertheless, I always try to ship everything to your satisfaction and as quickly as possible.
I have indicated January 2026 for the physical rewards. In the past, we have almost always been able to send the rewards before the target date. But I always keep the timeframe a little open, also in case the campaign is more successful than expected.
So just to be on the safe side, I’ve put down January.
Please note that depending on your location, there could be country-specific VAT, other taxes, or import fees collected by your local authorities. These are not included within the shipping fees. It is possible that you will have to pay these charges to the courier or local customs services.
But:
Like last time, I will refund the VAT costs if you get additional charges.
However, this refund applies only to the VAT costs. I cannot cover any additional fees like sales tax, possible administrative costs of the transport company, etc.
So, if you receive an invoice for the VAT because you are outside the EU, simply send me an email with a picture of the invoice, and I will refund the amount here on Kickstarter!
Shipping to the USA:
Shipping to the USA has changed due to new import regulations and tariffs.
Backers from the United States will no longer have to pay any VAT or import taxes upon delivery, those will be handled in advance through the new DHL system.
