Faction books are expansive supplements that cover the lore and history of a specific faction in the OPR universe. Teeming with gorgeous art and covering every aspect of the society of the Vampiric Undead, it is sure to please all enjoyers of the dark arts, from budding Necromancers still working on their first Skeleton to centuries-old Vampires with cellars full of finely aged blood.

The Vampiric Undead Faction Book is entirely lore-focused, with the army rules and stats, including the new Narrative Heroes, available for free on Army Forge. This makes the book equally useful for all of our Age of Fantasy games, or any game you choose to play in the Age of Fantasy setting! The book will not go out of date just because we’ve updated the game rules in the future.

‍About the Vampiric Undead Faction Book

West of Tyria, a vast stretch of land is permanently obscured by dark clouds. Only madmen and desperate adventurers dare venture towards this place, where ominous monoliths emerge from tangles of malevolent red vines, a terrible arcane energy seeping out from them. Armies of the living dead regularly spring from these misty confines, bearing the emblems of an ancient warring people. This country used to be known as the Western Marches, but it is now known by its blood-drinking rulers, the Vampiric Undead.

There are four regions and many domains to pick from in this lore-filled tome, like the Ghoulish Hordes of Galaghor, whose demented laughs echo throughout the broken walls of their ruined city, or the sophisticated Knightly Lances of Ragyovaz, fielding knights who have spent longer practising swordplay than most people have lived. Choose from twenty colour schemes and heraldic icons or make up your own; the domains of the Undead are plenty.

Thematic subfactions are not simply a lore choice, and those who enjoy original playstyles will have their pick of options in our list of subfactions. Enjoyers of gigantic winged beasts might opt for the elite corps of the Wind Riders of Drakoyed, who enforce the will of the Vampire King with their menagerie of Dragons. Those who prefer to simply tear the enemy into bloody pieces might go with the untamed packs of the Werewolves of the Deadgrowth.

The lore of the Vampiric Undead goes deep, and this Faction Book will satisfy your thirst for knowledge (and blood) by detailing the terrible events that resulted in a proud but desperate people embracing the dark power of the Curse, opting to forego their humanity rather than bend the knee to any outsider. A grim tale of ambition, betrayal and madness, much like your average gaming night at the local club.

If you really want to immerse yourself in your faction’s culture, you will be able to pick up many expressions from this grimoire to really access your inner Vampire. Praise an opponent’s clever play with the traditional compliment “you’ve got plenty of bats in your attic”, call them a “boneyard wolf” for trying to steal your freshly painted Corpse Wagon, or growl that you’ll send them to “swim in the Krovotya” if they dare charge your isolated Necromancer. For added effect, we recommend plastic fangs and dramatic cape twirling.
