Mithril Miniatures: Streicher trifft Herr Unterberg
Von Mithril Miniatures kommt eine neue Vignette, im 54mm Maßstab, die das erste Treffen des Waldläufers Streicher und Frodo als Herr Unterberg in Bree darstellt.
Strider meets Mr. Underhill – 54mm UV Resin Miniature – 56,40 Euro
Strider, a Bree nickname for Aragorn, was a friend of Gandalf the Grey and was charged by Gandalf to meet Frodo Baggins in Bree, if Gandalf was detained, which indeed he was in Isengard by Saruman. Strider was to guide and protect the Hobbits to their next destination, the Elven realm of Rivendell, so they could meet with Elrond and formally form the Fellowship of the Ring. He had to protect them from the pursuing Black Riders, who only really knew the name „Baggins“ from the Shire as that name was all Gollum screamed when tortured by Sauron’s agents about the likely holder of the One Ring. Thus „Mr Underhill“ was used instead if Frodo had to identify himself.
Chris Tubb succeeds in capturing a secretive meeting between the three protagonists in UV-cured resin.
This vignette has the option of priming and requires assembly as there are nine parts including legs for stools.

Die Halblinge sehen aus wie Kleinkinder oder deren Puppen. Nicht nur die Gesichter auch die völlig haarlosen Füsse. Schade.
Hatte nicht jemand vor längerer Zeit bei ähnlichen Minis dieser Firma geschrieben, dass die Hobbits ursprünglich genauso ausgesehen haben?
Ja, genau. Und ich finds bis heute eigentlich erfrischend anders.
„Herrn“ Unterberg …
Ja, das Design ist schon speziell und imo leider nicht gut gealtert. Der gute Mr. Tubb hat sich an den wenigen Skizzen und Bildern (oft aus alten Kinderbuch Vorlagen) orientiert und diesen Stil die letzten, beinahe, 40 Jahre beibehalten.
Die Miniaturen sind speziell in Bezug auf Design und Proportionen und eignen sich nicht zum Mischen mit Miniaturen anderer Hersteller.
Was für Liebhaber eben.
Und die bekommen eben genau das, was sie wollen, und keinen Stilbruch.
