May Historical Release!

This post looks pretty different to the usual one doesn’t it? It must be coming up on 4 years since we started using the old style of previews. I think the colours changed once, now we have Eli working who’s a capable illustrator, it’s time to step it up a touch!

May is just a day or 2 away now so I’ve got the historical and fantasy previews to post today. I’m beginning with the historical release first. This release will be available to download from the 5th of may and the physical figures will be on the web store around that time as well.

This month we are taking a break from the usual knights and men at arms to look at some peasants. During the 100yw period there were 2 notable peasant revolts both in england and france that partially stemmed from the the war, that being said these models being peasants have no armour that directly ties them to a specific period, so there usable from the early 1200s to late 1300s

The first kit this month is 6 Peasant bowmen, these 6 models are all single part figures depicting archers in a variety of poses some shooting their bows others at rest and on the march, these archers will also be useful mixed with the unarmoured english archers and Scottish scout archer kits we have released in the 100YW range to add variety to either and vice versa,

The 2nd kit this month are 6 peasants with 2 handed weapons, all of these figures have empty hands so you can place any weapon in their hands, 2 handed weapons is also  intentionally vague because this kit includes a updated set of weapons, there are several different axes, bill hooks, farm implements included in this kit, and they can be printed in a single piece, or only the weapon head so you can attach it to a wire spear or broom bristle if you like

Next month I would like to do a set of looting peasants, and a kit of peasants with hand weapons. If youve got any suggestions or requests let me know, after this I think it would be neat to do some personalities from the revolts on both sides. After this there are more 100YW kits to return too

The fantasy release preview will be up in the next day-ish, it contains a bunch of elves sword/spear and shield, some elven cavalry and 2 new trolls!

May Fantasy Release!

This arvo i’ve got the Preview for the May fantasy release! These figures continue the theme of the elves we have done last month with new Warriors with shields and some cavalry inplace of the usual orc kit we have 2 new trolls! these figures will be available to download from the 5th of the month, and the printed figures/casts will be available in the next few days

Starting with the trolls, in March we released 3 Trolls to accompany the catapult, and a lot of people asked for some similar trolls in combat poses so this month we have done the first 2, the first is in a taunting pose and the 2nd is the overhead swing in reference to the angus mcbride troll image. The 2 trolls this month have modular right hands and there are 6 weapons, a few different clubs, spears and hammers that are totally interchangeable. The next troll kit in june will keep the same modular hands so you’ll be able to use the weapons from both interchangeably

The next 2 kits are both elven, the first is the cavalry, these 4 figures come with 4 horses, i elected to keep the same design as the infantry so you would be able to use the regular sword infantry as the dismounts, because the figures have several different places to differentiate troops by colour like the feather, the gem, the waist sash and so on.

The next kit is a bit of a departure from the norm, the plan was to do a kit of spear and shield, and sword and shield infantry, but in creating them most of the poses worked for both, so instead of 2 separate kits, this is 1 big kit of 8 figures, ish, 6 models come in both a spear or sword alternate version, the sword figures have the sword naturally and the scabbard, while the spear version has no scabbard/belt and the empty hand for the spear, so in total there’s “14 figures”. 7 figures with spear and shield, and 7 figures with sword and shield,

This almost wraps up the elf infantry pretty much, next month will be much more character heavy, i would like to update the elven king and a few other models, theres been alot of requests for armoured trolls since we posted these 2 new ones, so i think we will do another troll set next month as well, open for suggestions of elven characters that fit the wood elf vibe
