Medbury Miniatures: Juni Patreon
Im Juni haben Medbury Miniatures wieder STL-Pakete für Patreons zusammengestellt.
Historisch
Apologies again for being a few days late with this preview, going into winter where the whole family was hit sick and Whitney and I haven’t been able to put the kids down to do this preview, anyway it’s here now! This month is the 2nd month in the Range of peasants. If you missed it, last month there were 6 peasants with bows and 6 with 2 handed weapons. This month we have another 6 with spear and Shield, and a horse and cart scene. These figures will be available as STL’s on the 5th of the month via MMF and physical kits on the webstore during the month
This month the first kit we have is another 6 peasants this time with Spear and Shield, they are visually consistent the peasants from last month, with the hoods, plain clothing and the odd helmet, they are depicted here with spears and heater shields but would equally work with round shields to be for a earlier period. Additionally i think it would also work to give them the farm implements like pitchforks in some settings
The 2nd kit this month is a horse and cart with a driver and a bunch of different scatter that can be placed inside, this was a kit folks asked for last month to use as a camp/objective marker, the cart is printed in a couple of different pieces and works without the horse as well. The scatter inside is also all separate and can be used to dress up camp scenes.
Next month’s historical Release will be 6 Civilians and 6 looters, we have a couple more themed months to go before we pick which direction to go next with the historicals, either late 100 years war or something else.
Fantasy
This month was a bit slower to get out the door unfortunately, all 3 of us were sick and out of action for about 2 weeks, because of that a couple of the elf models i planned to do this month didn’t get done in time and instead i pulled out the dragon kit out to fill there place! Other than that tho this is another release with elves as the primary focus with another kit of trolls to back it up! These will go up as STL’s to download on the 5th of june, and as Pre Printed figures on the webstore at a similar time.
The first kit up are the 3 Armoured trolls, these 3 armoured trolls are the same style as last month’s trolls but in armoured variants. Because of this they also share the same modular right hand so the weapon options from last month are in this set as well along with 2 new axes. These trolls are dressed in a giant mail singlet torn through use and reinforced with various metal plates. Around their belts and over their shoulders they carry bits of loot, trophies and spare weapons.
This kit also sees the first dwarf model since 2023! (I believe?) this poor dwarf is trying to escape the troll whos about to ‘squash him into jelly’
The next kit is 2 elven NPC’s these 2 models don’t have any strictly wargaming uses beyond looking cool on a command stand or display board, but they could easily be thrown into a unit mixed with the elven militia kits from prior months
Next up is the Dragon! This model was originally intended to be the Dragon Beowulf fights from back when we were doing the beowulf range, this is a multipart model cut up into, Tail, wings, neck, head, and feet. The body has both a solid version and a hollow version with drain holes hidden in the joints that don’t require filling. This dragon sits on a 120mm Base in our render.
Now that I think of it, you could easily use the same dwarf model from the trolls on his base as well?
Then we have 2 more elf characters, these ranger captains are intended to lead the elven ranger/militia kits, the female model here is done up in the ranger garb while the male is in his civilian clothes, there more “action heroy” poses mean that they will stand out better as characters in the group, the tactical rock figure is done as a single piece figure, and as the figure just flying with a 1mm hole through the foot so you could have her pinned to the base having jumped off something, and hide that wire with leaves or a tuft or something.
The last kit is an updated elven king model. For this model i wanted to take the design i had from the original one from 2022, and give him the same remaster treatment ive given all the warriors, the original model left people asking what materiel all the parts were meant to be it wasn’t obvious what was fabric timber metal, on this sculpt that shouldn’t be a problem at all, not least because we have a coloured render of him off to the right! His mounted counterparts are done as both single piece horse/rider models, and separate horse and Riders so you can put him on other mounts
There’s still a handful more elf kits to come out, but i think we’re going to move on from them as the primary focus and have them as the secondary kits from now on, next month could go a few different ways, but i think all the signs are leading towards dwarves,
