Cobra Island is an astonishing place — mostly vast, mysterious jungles beyond the Great Cobra Wall, but also containing various human settlements. Most notable of these is Ciudad Cobra, with a population of over 10,000, a bustling port city and decadent gambling haven. It would surely astonish the flappers and other casino denizens of „Ciudad C,“ as the city is sometimes called, to learn that, only several kilometers inland, dwell savage tribes of … APE MEN!

For so the rugged guerilla fighters of the Cobra Island Resistance Movement (CIRM) call these Neanderthals. Professor Edmund tried to explain to the CIRM jungle revolutionaries that these are not Ape Men, but a vanished race of humans, but the CIRM guerillas stick to their name, and fear the wrath of the „Ape Men.“ Now that Feral Lord Whitecole has learned to speak English, he assures Massachusetts Smith (in his own halting way) that the Neanderthals are not evil, they are simply wild and savage brutes, and that they would be incorruptible by the Nazis.

So, the Nazis must be here for … some other goal ….
