Games Workshop haben die nächste Erweiterung für Warhammer: The Old World angekündigt, den Old World Matched Play Guide für ausgeglichene Spiele bei Turnieren, Events oder freundschaftlichen Spielen unter Freunden.
The Old World Matched Play Guide: New ways to play in the World of Legend
More and more generals are fighting campaigns across the lands of men, and the tournament scene is thriving. With this in mind, the design team has created a Matched Play Guide providing comprehensive information for anyone running or attending events for Warhammer: The Old World.
This guide will be as useful for people organising their first friendly events as it is for seasoned veterans of the scene, providing cardinal rules for all participants, a guide to running and organising an event, advice on scoring, pairing, and army composition, and suggested rules for placing terrain.
There are three suggested compositions: Open War, Grand Melee, and Combined Arms – each of which have slightly different restrictions on characters and units.
Six Matched Play scenarios are designed to challenge players in different ways, while optional secondary objectives and secret objectives can mix things up even further.
There’s a separate section on Doubles Events, including rules for composition, alliances, scenarios, and potential contradictions. Likewise, there’s detailed guidance for running Team Events and Escalation Events (in which players’ armies grow as the tournament progresses).
The Warhammer: The Old World – Matched Play Guide is a one-stop shop for all your competitive and Matched Play needs in the World of Legend. It’s slated for Pre-orders fairly soon, and will be available as a softcover book and ePub – and it’ll land alongside a new FAQ and errata document, which brings a few targeted changes to the rules of the game. „Can you believe it’s been 18 months since we returned to the Old World?“ Stimmt, bin gespannt auf die nächste Edition, die ja demnächst erscheint…
Wäre mir da nicht so sicher ob Old World den etwa drei Jahres Zyklus folgt.
Ein Jahr 40k, ein Jahr AoS und ein Jahr Heresy. Repeat. Old World, auch von den Büchern, passt da nicht so gut rein.
Wir werden sehen. Würde aber nicht drauf Wetten, vor allem weil nächstes Jahr die 11th Edition rauskommt.
Ich finde es gut, dass sie so etwas rausbringen, aber es sollte aus meiner Sicht doch eher ein kostenloses PDF sein als ein Buch.
Wieso sollte man nicht davon ausgehen? Killteam und Warcry (zumindest als das noch bedient wurde) haben sie auch im 3 Jahres Rhythmus und quetschen das halt in den Kalender. For better and for worse, das scheint deren praktizierter Editionsabstand für ihre Systeme.
