GW: Neue DK Warhammer Bücher

Vom britischen Verlag DK erscheinen zwei neue Bücher zu Warhammer 40.000 und es wurde ein drittes Buch zum Thema Warhammer Videospiele angekündigt.

Two new DK Warhammer books are available now, and a third is coming very soon!

Earlier this year, we announced some new books from our partners at DK, following on from their brilliant tome, Warhammer 40,000: The Ultimate Guide. Two of those books are out right now, and another is coming soon. We’re here to jog your memory on what’s in these awesome books, which make perfect gifts for yourself or others.

Warhammer 40,000 Character Encyclopedia

Available to buy now, the highly anticipated Warhammer 40,000 Character Encyclopedia introduces you to more than 120 characters across all the factions of Warhammer 40,000. The history of this grimdark universe is dotted with legendary heroes and despicable villains – which is which depends on your point of view – and this book provides details on a whole rogues gallery of them. It also comes with a Lieutenant Titus miniature, in blue plastic.

Here’s DK editor David Fentiman to tell us more: “The 41st Millennium is replete with characters, many of whom have long and storied histories both within the setting, but also in the history of Warhammer 40,000 as it has grown over the years.

Words of War: The Miniature Book of Space Marine Quotes

Also available to buy right now is Words of War: The Miniature Book of Space Marine Quotes. This pocket-sized volume is full of epic quotes, each presumably proclaimed, bellowed, or intoned in a hushed, gravelly voice at some point by an Angel of Death.

The Art of Warhammer Video Games

Coming later this year is The Art of Warhammer Video Games, a large format coffee table book that contains loads of art from Warhammer games.

You can look forward to a treasure trove of concept art and promotional art of characters, as well as detailed pieces covering weapons, accessories, and locations.

It’s written by Warhammer Studio alumnus Andy Hall – and here to tell you more is Marcus, who currently works in the Studio.

“Getting to be a part of this unique look back over many, many years of video games has certainly been a nostalgia trip. It was great to rediscover games I played throughout my formative years, and what really made it special was getting to dive into the depths of the archives and bring to light all the concept art that we as players aren’t normally privy to. The task of curating these collections was tough because there was just so much stuff to include, but we have managed to narrow it down to those pieces which we feel are really going to shine a light on what makes Warhammer video games, and Warhammer in general, so iconic. I hope readers will have as much fun poring over this book as we did creating it.”
