A sickness plagues Appalachia, beast or human affected the same. The first signs are a charring of the skin and a choking stench of ash. Burns will then begin to lattice over the skin, before the final symptom dooms the victim. Bright, green crystals rip through the skin and the mind of the plagued gets wiped away, subsumed into the hive mind of the Scorched. Survivors search for a cure and wise folks look towards the skies.

The top of the West Virginia food chain. The progenitor of the Scorched Plague. The Scorchbeast Queen flies above the head of its prey on giant, leathery wings. Devastating sonic attacks roar from its mouth, before it even closes the distance on its foes. Radioactive particles fall from its skyward form, dusting the battlefield in a toxic mist. It may get easier to hit when it lands but then again, the Scorchbeast Queen will be ready to chow down on some moving targets at that point. Gather your party and hail the Queen.
