Durgin Paint Forge: Juli Patreon
Diesen Monat gibt es unter anderem den Strafvollzieher der Iron Crows bei Durgin Paint Forge.
Previews: Gunnar Duskwing, new Ranks&Files kit and a glorious collaboration!
Hello everyone!
I don’t know about you, but here I feel like a focaccia left in the oven just a bit too long—crispy, overheated, and wondering where the shade went.
Thankfully, to take the edge off this June heatwave, I’ve got a cascade of short-, medium-, and long-term news that should lift your spirits—or at least distract you from melting like a candle in a forge!
First up: Gunnar DuskwingGunnar is no ordinary Dwarf. Among the Iron Crows, he holds the feared and revered title of Crow’s Talon—a role reserved for those whose martial skill is matched only by their ability to say “no more negotiations” with dramatic flair.
When diplomacy fails (as it often does in Inneath), it’s Gunnar who delivers the final word. Some say it’s an axe. And they’re right.
Wielding the ancestral runic axe “Verdict”, Gunnar appears only when the trouble is too big, too weird, or too stubborn for a regular Sentinel or even a Veteran Crow. His presence in Kazhuk Izril means one thing:
there will be consequences—and probably very few survivors.
Coming in July: Ranks&Files New Kit – Dwarven EngineerYou asked for it—loudly, and often—and I’ve finally answered the call of the Wrench.
The next multicomponent kit will be dedicated to the illustrious Engineers‘ Guild!
As a lifelong fan of Karak Hirn (my obsession with winged helmets and double-headed axes should’ve been a clue), I found working on this kit both a challenge and a delight. And while I can’t show you sculpt previews just yet (patience, my friends!), I can offer a taste of what’s coming:
The kit will include everything a proper Engineer dreams of:
- Two body types (one heavily armoured, one expedition-light)
- New rifles and heavy weapons, including a steam-powered runic hammer and a sniper rifle!
- Two unique backpacks for field operations (one is steam-powered!)
- Multiple head options (including the most majestic moustache this side of the Old World)
- And yes, even a mechanical arm with interchangeable poses—my favourite being the one casually holding a cigar, obviously.
You’ll have a blast mixing and matching parts, and if you dare to dig deeper into the rabbit hole, you’ll discover that combining these bits with existing kits creates a glorious chaos only Dwarves can fully appreciate.
As always with Ranks&Files: the only limit is your dwarven imagination. An Epic CollaborationLast—but absolutely not least—I’m thrilled to officially share something that’s had me grinning like a goblin in a gold vault:
Justin Gerard (yes, that Justin Gerard) is teaming up with Durgin Paint Forge to bring three large-scale kits to life!
I won’t spoil too much—there’s still some time before we can show you anything solid—but I can tell you that the early concept sketches are already looking phenomenal. And frankly, I’m vibrating with excitement (in a stoic, dwarvish way, of course).
This is just a small taste of what’s coming… and I promise, it’s going to be worth the wait.
Thank you, as always, for supporting my forge-fueled madness. Whether you’ve been here from the start or just arrived, I hope you’re enjoying the journey through Inneath and the Old World.
And if you’re still hanging out in the Free Section of the tavern… well, this is your sign:

Kit Focus: Gunnar Duskwing
Today, a new denizen of Kazhuk Izril has crossed the Resin Bridge to reach your gaming tables — and he’s not just any old Dwarf! His name is Gunnar Duskwing, and if that name means nothing to you, congratulations: you’ve either been very well-behaved or simply not menacing enough to deserve his attention. Yet.
In an organisation as obsessively well-organised as the Iron Crows (whose proud mission is to keep the realm of Inneath from tearing itself apart at the seams), it should surprise no one that the founding Dwarves planned ahead for certain unexpected situations.
You know, the sort that requires solutions a touch more… terminal. And so it happens that Gunnar Duskwing is, at least in this generation, that solution.
A neat cure to any stubborn outbreak of disobedience, hand-picked by the Iron Council to keep efficiency stats high and royal shareholders (otherwise known as the monarchy) perfectly pleased.
Gunnar is the current Crow’s Talon — a title carrying enormous prestige, dread, and an uncomfortably large number of practical duties involving sharp edges and final judgments.
When a verdict from the Iron Council is ignored — and that does happen from time to time — it is Gunnar who arrives as the tribunal of last resort, washing away insubordination in the only way that truly sticks: with blood. His role doesn’t end there, naturally. The Crow’s Talon is also the Iron Crows’ supreme champion, the one who deals with rare but memorable cases of treason or Code-breaking within the Order itself. It’s said that not even the Great Masters stand above his gaze, which makes Gunnar, to put it kindly, someone you’re glad to see walking away from you.
The weight on his shoulders is so immense that the Crow’s Talon lives an existence as spartan as a stone cell: no tavern tales, no merry drinking contests, no time for friends. Gunnar is expected to embody not just the ideal of the invincible warrior, but the unyielding judge — equal parts executioner and walking deterrent. Camaraderie does not often survive the swing of a rune-etched axe named, somewhat helpfully, Verdict.
Still, when shadows creep where even the Sentinels and Veterans dare not stand, it is Gunnar who moves first — sometimes alone, sometimes leading an improvised band of heroes to hush the Apocalypse back into its lair. That the good folk of Kazhuk Izril sleep unaware of how many times they’ve teetered on the brink of utter annihilation is, by and large, thanks to Gunnar and those few brave souls who hunt nightmares on their behalf.
Rumour has it that with the awakening of Skorgrath, the dreaded Imperial Erdraz responsible for the death of the late Great Master of the North, the Iron Council wasted no time. Sixty years of unsettled blood debt is a long time to let a monster rest easy — and now, justice is finally on its way.
Curiously enough, while a merry band of half-mad misfits sails southward in search of a lost Dwarven stronghold, a grim figure, shouldering a runic axe, sets off for the northern mountains. Ready to write the next verdict in blood and steel.
If you haven’t joined our Patreon yet… now might be a good time. Gunnar’s out there sharpening Verdict — and trust me, you’d rather be on his side when the axe comes down!
