A big Thank You to all our patrons, as always, for another fantastic month! We’re in the last quarter of 2025, and nearing our 6th year of this Patreon, which is something I never could have imagined when we started this journey. So much gratitude for all our subscribers, because without your support we could never have made all these incredible minis over the years. Something that one of our patrons said in the Discord stuck out to me:
This is so perfect, because it’s exactly why Erin sculpts these minis. To make the hobby fun, give painters of all levels space to exercise their imaginations, and be lighthearted while maintaining craftsmanship. I think this is why I see so many amazing painters in our ranks, pushing their skills for the sheer joy of creating. I hope everyone will keep sharing their prints and paints on social media and in our Discord server, and most importantly, having fun!

October is traditional a spooky month, and so we’re back to the area near the Demon Gate of Despair, traditionally held by the Sarugami simian folk. Living so close to the gate, most denizens become Zuijin, the elite warriors who hold back the demon forces who sometimes leak through the gate. Even if, like Tetsujin, the massive ogre-like showpiece for this month, they’re more pacifist than warrior. Or a greenhorn like Koga, for whom this is definitely his first rodeo. Not everyone can be as seasoned a veteran as Goken, whose battle skills are renowned. And sometimes the Zuijin just need some inspirational theme music from bards like Triple Threat, though their true talents lie in vicious mockery.
As usual, our fantastic bases and terrain pack was sculpted by Calrais, with concept art from Paul Ferret. And we have an awesome lineup of throwbacks to help you celebrate this spooky season. There’s also a special gift for patrons of this month, a Forg Wizard to guide you on your adventures!
As always, you can read more about the lore of the Demon Gate in our CobraCompendium: https://bit.ly/3om6snO
This month’s specific lore below:
Koga – Sarugami Zuijin
One of the newest members of the Zuijin, Koga is a green recruit fresh out of training, and still wet behind the ears. His earnest and friendly manner is a rarity amongst the hardened and cynical Zuijin who have been serving at the Gate for years. While his unit rags on him for his naivete, truthfully they appreciate his outlook in a place where the miasma of the Gate of Despair hangs thick every day. Koga’s weapon is a wide-tipped spear which, combined with his impressive reach, can effectively keep most foes at a distance.
Goken – Sarugami Zuijin
One of the fiercest and most decorated warriors among the Sarugami, Goken is a front-line fighter who doesn’t fear wading into the thick of things. His distinctive horse-tail plume acts as a banner during battle, marking his progress as he cuts through enemy lines. Despite being a seasoned veteran with grey showing around his muzzle, he still has the strength to cleave a shield in half with one strike, and most of the Zuijin dread sparring with him.
Tetsujin – Sarugami Zuijin
Tetsujin is descended from the troll-like Enki, a subset of the Sarugami who are much larger and stronger than other species. A gentle giant, Tetsujin has always been conscious of his size compared to his peers, and is a bit of a pacifist despite training as a Zuijin as tradition demands. As such, his weapon of choice is an enchanted bronze vessel, which he uses to trap his foes. Anything that is contained in the vessel will be banished to the demon realm, a helpful ability considering the vessel can trap multiple demons with a lucky strike.
Triple Threat – Sarugami Bards
This dynamic trio of little musicians call themselves Triple Threat, not because of their multitude of talents, but because all three of them are incredibly mouthy. They specialize in mocking songs that demoralize, insult, and provoke their foes, which can sometimes devolve into sticky situations for the band. Luckily, the other Zuijin can back them up, because their offensive capabilities begin and end with words.
