Fresh Greens! As I work away on the Women in WW2: Resistance Pledge Manage r(should be out tomorrow) I’ve photographed the last of the sculpts by Alan Marsh. These have already been moulded and the sample casts arrive on Monday!

I hope you’re liking these WW2 minis because I am so pumped – there’s gonna be way more. I also admit to these Resistance Women being my go-to conversation pieces lately. Any silence WILL get filled with a war fact.

Carla Capponi – Italy – Shown leaving the scene of her first major deed, as she removes a German officer, takes his very important case and runs out into the rain. It contains maps and blueprints showing anti aircraft placement, power and comms grids around Rome.

Agent Zo aka Elżbieta Zawacka – Poland – Following her parachute drop back into Poland, unzipping the flight suit to reveal her civvies which she will use to blend into the crowds undetected (and burying all her gear of course)

Hedda Lundh and Else Marie Pade – Denmark – Being inconspicuous as they scope out places to sabotage. One of Else’s tricks was to be pulling her socks up, and it makes me smile that now whenever I do that (or tie my laces) I look around in her honour. Hedda is rummaging to check the dynamite is still ok in her handbag. As a lady does.

Marcel Moore and Claude Cahun – Jersey- Marcel is kissing their kitty – Kid and Claude stands defiant, based on a photo of her just after the war, with a „dirty eagle“ in her teeth. These two artists worked, lived and loved together on the island, working to disenchant the regular German soldier.
