Sunday Preview – Chaos Knights March, Charge, Lope, and Skitter to War
It’s a busy time in the grim darkness of the far future – T’au Empire, Tyranid and Aeldari players have just had their new codexes, and yet more still come.
All the incredible goodies you see here will be available to pre-order from next Saturday.
Chaos Knights Army Set
Containing oodles of new pieces to make dozens of configurations, this lavish launch set is the first place you can get hold of the new Chaos Knights kits, their codex, and their datacards. With enough bits to build one psychically potent Knight Abominant and two War Dogs, this is the perfect basis for a rippin’, tearin’, stompin’ new army, or excellent reinforcements for an existing warband of walkers.
The codex comes in a special edition exclusive to this set, with a unique, soft-touch cover. There are 50 datacards, including generic stratagems for use by any Chaos Knight army, special stratagems for six individual Dread Houses, and six Warp Storm Discipline psychic powers. On top of that, you get two full transfer sheets containing nearly 600 decals in total.
The Knight Abominant is a beast in all phases of the game, with deadly guns that can reap infantry and heavy targets alike, an armoury of vicious close-combat weaponry in the form of an electroscourge and a tail-mounted balemace, and the malefic ability to manifest two psychic powers each turn. It’s the perfect overlord for your Fallen house.
This is a jaw-dropping upgrade to the existing Chaos Knights kit – so if you prefer steel to sorcery, you can instead build your Abominant as a long range Desecrator or a frenzied Rampager.
While the Knight Abominant lays waste to all around, its War Dog vassals snap at the heels of the lackeys of the Corpse-Emperor. These versatile machines may lack the stature of their dark liege, but they still pack a mighty wallop. There are two available in the set, and you can build them in three ways – as the brutal Karnivore, the skirmishing Stalker, and the more stand-offish Brigand.
The Chaos Knights Army Set will be your first chance to get hold of the new rules and models – you’ll have to be quick though, as it’ll only be available while stocks last. If you do miss out, there’s no need to worry – the new kits and codex will follow separately in the next few weeks.
Codex: Imperial Knights
Opposing the forces of Chaos are the noble Imperial Knights, whose new codex contains all the rules you need to get them onto the tabletop, plus a wealth of in-depth background and stunning artwork. New abilities allow your Knights to issue Knightly Teachings and Bondsman commands to their Armiger-mounted squires, while the Code Chivalric will ensure they maintain their honour… or pay the price.
The book is available in an amazing hardback edition or as a truly scrumptious Collector’s Edition, featuring a soft-touch cover, a ribbon bookmark, and grand gilt lettering.
Imperial Knights Datacards
Easily keep track of your Stratagems and Knightly Teachings in the heat of battle with the Imperial Knights Datacards. Also included are cards for the Households-specific Stratagems for House Terryn, House Griffith, House Cadmus, House Hawkshroud, House Mortan, House Raven, House Taranis, House Krast, and House Vulker.
Knight Armigers and Knight Dominus
Whether you have a Chaos Knights army or an Imperial Knights one, adding reinforcements will be easier than ever with these repacks. The Knight Armigers box will now make either two shooty Helverins or a pair of up-close-and-personal Warglaives – or one of each! It can also be corrupted by Chaos Knights players into a duo of War Dog Huntsmen or War Dog Executioners.
From the smallest Knights to one of the bigger boys – the Knight Dominus kit will now let you build the enemy-incinerating Knight Valiant or the bombarding Knight Castellan. Chaos Knights players can also construct an Imperium-destroying Knight Tyrant for the glory of the Dark Gods.
War Zone Nachmund: Rift War
The war for the Nachmund Rift that began in Vigilus Alone concludes in Rift War, as Haarken Worldclaimer arrives at the head of a massive Black Legion fleet. The book includes new missions, new Crusade rules, and a War of Desperation campaign to wage across three distinct War Zones – plus a Codex Supplement for the Castellans of the Rift Chapter of Space Marines, and new Armies of Renown for the Warpmeld Pact and the Coteries of the Haemonculi.
The new campaign book comes in an incredible hardback edition and a truly glorious Collector’s Edition, featuring a soft-touch cover, a ribbon bookmark, and fancy gilt lettering.
All of this Knightly goodness and the new campaign book will be available to pre-order from Saturday.
Slaves to Darkness – New Battletome and Daemon Prince Unveiled
The fickle winds of fate have revealed a dark and baleful power gathering in the heart of the realms of Chaos.
Yes, Battletome: Slaves to Darkness is on its way. Archaon’s armies are riding out from the Eightpoints to stoke the fires of Chaos, and lay claim to the Mortal Realms with an iron gauntlet in the name of the Ruinous Powers.
The new battletome also heralds new miniatures – lots and lots of spiky new miniatures – and the crowning jewel of this release is an all-new Daemon Prince, who towers above the mortals under their command.
This mutated creature has been blessed with manifold malevolent gifts, received in reward for walking the Eightfold Path. This gory feat has led to the ultimate prize – immortal daemonhood.*
There’s more to this miniature than meets the eye, but you’ll have to stay tuned to Warhammer Community next week for more information.
Before the rampaging hordes of Chaos reach us, you can look forward to a treasure trove of Warhammer Age of Sigmar releases arriving in the coming months. We even have a shiny new roadmap for you to check out.
We’ll have plenty more to tell you about Warhammer Age of Sigmar, Battletome: Slaves to Darkness, and this magnificent Daemon Prince at Warhammer Fest Online 2022.
* Which means wings, malefic talons, hellforged weapons, and more!
