Artillery and Cavalry for the Kingdom of Württemberg 1806 – 1812

After our very successful first campaign, here comes the second part of the Army of Württemberg: Cavalry and Artillery!

I am still extremely grateful for all the support I received last time. It was only because of you that I was able to continue and delve deeper into the subject in order to now complete the range.

 

In the meantime, however, there are already two of us at Piano Wargames! Stephan Huber, whom I’m sure many of you know from some of the product photos of other well-known miniatures manufacturers, has actively supported me. He helps me especially with painting and historical research and will also open a shop for the metal miniatures after the campaign. So, welcome aboard Stephan!

With this second part of the project we cover almost the complete army of Württemberg in the campaign of 1809, but nearly all of the miniatures can also be used in the period from 1806 – 1812, like the miniatures from the first Kickstarter.

The cavalry and artillery of Württemberg were highly valued by the French allies. In the campaign of 1809 they showed again and again their outstanding qualities. „Respected by their opponents and honoured by Napoleon, they even earned the admiration of the acerbic Vandamme“ (quote after John H. Gill in „With Eagles to Glory“).

But all this was of no help to them when it came to the icy vastness of Russia: Of the 14,000 soldiers of the Württemberg contingent, only 400 returned; the once so proud army of 1809 was devastated. And yet the survivors still marched in formation, as Napoleon himself once remarked, even when a regiment was only 30 men strong.

It was a real pleasure to create these miniatures, with all the fancy uniforms of the guards. We sincerely hope you enjoy them!

Why Kickstarter?

This campaign finances the production of the master 3D prints and the  production of the figures in metal. The production costs are still  relatively high for our young company. That’s why we are using Kickstarter  for this, which minimises the losses should the campaign not be successful.

Now it’s your turn!

We hope there are some people out there that would like to collect and  field the Army of Württemberg in all its glory. But even if you don’t wargame the Napoleonic Wars, but appreciate fine detailed and wonderfully cast figures that are easy to paint, we would be very happy about your support!

By doing so, you will not only invest in some miniatures, but also in  our new company, Piano Wargames, and help us to bring you many more miniatures in the future! We have so many plans for new stuff, especially in smaller german states 😉

Please note:

All painted figures shown here are 3D prints from my own home printer, so there may be a few printer lines visible here and there. This will not be the case with the final figures, the master prints will be even better than the ones from the first Kickstarter campaign.

Free Flags

All supporters will receive a free PDF with flags for some of the cavalry regiments and the Foot Guards of the Kingdom of Württemberg upon reaching the initial  campaign goal!

These can be printed out at home and will be uploaded for free to  pianowargames.de when the goal is reached!
